    Every KTM I always had the high seat foam, it made a big difference to the riding position and knee fatigue.

      But---you can't turn it with out a berm. Lower your bike 2" (seat and suspension), roll your bars back to the 90's before freestyle was a thing, and enjoy a bike that turns. You should be standing more anyway. :)

      @@_.momjeans_9219 They all do today. They don't re-grip the throttle anymore, and set their handle bars high, so the all gas it with a low elbow. The reason why we did not get away with in in the 80's and 90's is because the suspension was not as good up front, the tracks had bumps. The riding position has changed over the decades with the heigh seat hand forward rotated bars to be more body forward,---but is that a good way to ride sand/bumps?

    Heck yeah Jeff, get back in there man. You ride so good, and you chose a great bike to be fast on. A comeback after an injury isn’t always going to happen with everyone, but you must have some special drive, I can see it by the way you rode in this video.
    Race hard Jeff, and train even harder for the win. I am behind all your efforts.

    How about a lap comparison between map 1 and map 2, without traction control on. I would like to see the difference from a pro rider perspective. I just recently purchased a 2023 FC 450 Rockstar Edition and I have only tried it in the mellow map so far.

    It means you are getting faster on that sandy track. Your corner speed was a bit slow, so of course you could find some good gains. You did not thin, you made up that time on jumps did you? Proper suspension setting can help a lot too. Read Paul Thede's Race Tech suspension bible from cover to cover, (if you know that book from cover to cover well, you will be ready to start a sharp suspension mod company.). Thinking can make us faster too. :)
    Watching some now. Your corner speed has picked up a lot since the crash vid. For SX, the trick is the fastest corner speed as low in the corner as you can, and still clear the rhythms. That and the whoops are the only things separating the 20 riders of talent doing laps.

  • @EarthSurferUSA
    @EarthSurferUSA 9 місяців тому

    Everybody in the top 10 are about the same speed today in pro SX as the tracks have been redundant for 2 decades. But I remember the 2-nights of racing Pontiac used to do, back when the racers till had to figure out a new track, and the pros were always faster on Sunday night over Saturday. They were still figuring out the track. No rhythm sections keeping them all the same speed.

    Your corner speed all day from 1st video to second. Everything about the corner. You went from charging hard to almost stopping and twisting the throttle to charging hard but braking less as your roll speed was night and day, then back on the throttle!! Great job. Having shoulder surgery asap my self. It’s such a crutch. Wish your suspension guys can look at your videos from last years tracks and see if any adjustments should be made before you touching the track this season? Would they be up to it?

    One thing that always impresses me is how the suspension looks to just soak up the landings. I should have concentrated way more on that area when I was racing.

    • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 9 місяців тому

      They run suspension stiffer today, (fast guys), because of the jumps, and mostly because the tracks are usually groomed today, so it is easier to set up suspension for the average and below average Joe. Absorbing the big jumps is just one aspect though, and the easiest to adjust for, (proper spring for your weight, and some compression dampening testing on a jump landing. Pretty easy.). When tracks were bumpy, we had to set up for those too, to get the best traction. Rebound is pretty easy to set up. Compression is more complicated. The Race tech "suspension bible" book,---is awesome. You read that from cover to cover, and you will be amazed what you gave up back in your racing days.
