It was never intended to compete, or even compare with either. It was supposed to compare to the Tremor and Tundra TRD Pro. The fact that GM let you, and any other journalist run with that narrative was a blunder on their part, and hack reporting on yours.
The interior of the Silverado feels more like a car than a truck. I like the strength of the F-150 interior more than this Silverado. It lacks the personality of the Ford or the RAM and feels like corporate GM interior number 004.

I had a '99 Silverado 4x4 with the 4.3L V6. I put 400k miles on it, it was nearly bullet-proof. A great truck.
Tough to get used to a turbo 4 no matter the numbers. That 4.3 V6 was a great engine. Interior looks sharp in your demo. Nice summary.
The cylinder deactivation in the V6 is garbage. It feels like a moderate earthquake is happening.
