Oh man not the 5488! Oh well. Life goes on you do what you gotta do. Those 50 series green tractors are good workhorses. I'm a red guy too but I got a 4430 that belonged to a dear friend of mine who passed from cancer about 2 years ago. I'll never part with his tractor. It'll live here forever. Congratulations on the new toy. You'll get the kinks worked out and grow to like it. But I think you'll always have a soft spot for those old red machines. Take care Grayce. Have a safe spring.
You have to look at it from a money standpoint what can you afford to buy with the limited amount of money you have in your account so in my opinion you chose the best option that your bank would let you buy
Congratulations on the new addition to the farm Grayce. Have a great time at Fendt Lodge. Best wishes for continued good weather there in Kentucky. Cheers from Canada.
Love the montage of the 5488! It leaves a sick feeling in my stomach seeing that and I think in time it's going to bother you you let that IH tractor go
Sad to see the 5488 go, but I think this one will suit you guy’s good, hope you enjoy it and hope planting season is going good for you guys as well.👍❤️
Those sound guard John Deeres are by far among my favourite tractors ever produced. Beautiful unit you guys picked up. Though I will say for tillage and field prep work the 9170 case/Steiger I used to run before is definitely the nicest I’ve run purely because of the deceleration pedal.
And far and away a better tractor.. mid sized JD two wheel drives are nice tractors.. 4wd? Don't think they've ever built a great one.. steiger always built a far better big horse.
You got you a good tractor there. I had one just like that. I wound up selling it cuz we're downsized a little bit. I wish I would have kept it. That's a beast. Keep it up. You're doing a good job
Hey Grace. Should have been another red tractor. LOL I pulled a rig like that and I plumbed into the disk fold to the packer and folded it all when I folded or unfolded the disk. I worked real good.
Nice tractor. I have put many hours on the big green machine. But the one I drove was 30 years older. I also drove a red one same size called a versatile.
Good video I like your montage of your old red tractor I hope the green tractor serve you all well pioneer farm I hope you and Kevin have a good time at the Grand opening of Lodge you all have a good day now
Grayce you need a 12 volt hydraulic splitter. It plugs into a hydraulic box and turns it into 2 circuits with the flip of a toggle switch. You can get for $700-$800 range. You can get from Shoup .
well up here in Montana where I live they grow a lot of wheat and barley now the wheat is for flour and bread made here in Montana and some go to France because they love are red wheat from here and the Barley is sold under contract to Coors and Budweiser beer companies
Awesome video 👍 thanks for explaining what n why you’re doing it the way you are 😮only farming my family did was Kona Coffee 👍no tractors just a pick n shovel and no dirt 🤯 farm is on a lava flow Aloha from Hawaii 😎🤙🏽🌴
Hi Grayce. As always fantastic video. Well, if you don't like green john, in my opinion you should paint it with a nice red case or red massey(I'm joking Grayce, I hope you don't offend about I wrote).
🇺🇸 Glad to see you finally started dressing up the farm with a little green paint 🚜!!! Go JD Green, just make sure you have plenty of the "dead president" embossed green paper when you go to the green parts store, LMAO. 🚜👍🚜🌽🚜🌾🚜
Great descriptions of how you work your fields. I grew up on red, and still have one, but became green in later years. Contrary to some opinion, the extra money for green is not just for the green paint. Haaaaa, just kidding you red guys/girls.
Grayce at the beginning of the video when you where drinking coffee or something the look you had you look like what have I got myself in too or I’m just goin to send it lol whatever was on your mind hope it was a good thought
Hey Grace glad you got one john-deere I was all red before getting my first deere now I'm all green. On the hose deal get you some green zip ties and put one on the raise hose that way you will always have it right have a nice day 😊
I could give you a big ol hug! I bleed green and have spent MANY hours in those tractors. 8630's and 8960's and 9300's. It takes a little getting used to the wiggle but you will be a pro in no time. We pulled 32 foot IH 490 harrows and a 32 foot deer chisel plow. Also had a couple of 12 shank IH sub soil plows with the auto reset shanks. Don't get me wrong I have run every color in the book. I was raised on red 66 series tractors till I went to work for a green farm. First sound guard cab in that 4430 I thought I was in heaven. Put a seal kit in those lift cylinders and they won't give you any more trouble. Please stay with us and don't leave. There are a lot of people me included that think the world of you and what you stand for and what you are doing so stay with us and pay no attention to the off comments. When you open your life to the world that is youtube you have to have a thick skin. So pay no attention to them and please stay with us. Good luck with the new tractor and I hope it does your farm a good job. They have their quirks like all tractors do and you will learn how to deal with them in time. All the best this year and all the best to YOU. A forever fan from middle Georgia...

Howdy from Texas! Congratulations on the new tractor. It's always fun to get more horses, and green even! We're cow calf and hay but we added a 8430 a few years ago w only 3200 hours for periodic hay meadow rejuvenation(220 jd disk and big 7 shank bush hog ripper). Much better and we kept our 4430. Enjoy your heritage and the new years tasks! Exciting and work safe from Quitman tx.
Hats off to all those hard working farmers who grow the food so we can have full bellies. I don't know how they do it, because that job looks about as much fun as actually watching corn grow. I always wanted a urban garden to sell to restaurants. Maybe one day. Hey, is that 2nd gen back on the road?
Bless you and your family. We need to ALWAYS support our farmers!
Oh man not the 5488! Oh well. Life goes on you do what you gotta do. Those 50 series green tractors are good workhorses. About every sixth round I've got to make a correction to get rid of the horseshoe in the middle😂 it's not just you
😂😂😂
Good morning to you
I see a full shift to green in the near future
Keep your colors.
When I was a kid I woke up to one of these sitting in our driveway. With silage plow. Thank you daddy
The ripper grandpa used was the plow
I've done some plowing if you know what I mean 😂
Hard to believe your dad would have traded the 88 for that.
The in-video infomercial sounded like a D.R.I. song at first .
God bless you! ( Russian proverb and heartfelt wishes )

Any tractor pre computer is a smart purchase. My brother has 6 7150 magnums every farmer around him wants to buy one but he won’t sell
Never sell thoseee I love a boxcar
