This was BY FAR the most ambitious project I have taken on thus far. I've clocked in over 100 hours in the making of this video (no playing included in that, literally just editing, scripting, etc.) and I'm not entirely sure how well received it will be. Please let me know what you liked, didn't like and what can be improved because it was really difficult for me to organize this one and I feel like I need some help from you all in making videos like these better in the future. I've been watching since episode one and have seen every video you've posted since. From the consistency of your content and the amount of effort you put into Bannerlord is beyond impressive. With this first speedrun done, take a well deserved break man! Don't let yt and Bannerlord get in the way of your health.
It is an impressive video and I'm staggered just imagining how much work you had to put in it to reach such a high production value. Especially the part after minute 14, with all the animations and sounds to put on the map. I can't speak for all your community, but I felt that was a bit too much nonetheless : past a certain point, you can't hide the fact that bannerlord battles get very repetitive especially when it's killing another 800 army miraculously spawned from a 0 fief faction. But I don't know how you could improve that, except by using a lot of moding which is unfortunately not on point yet in bannerlord.
I can't think of anything substantial, aka, things other than personal preference. (Like changing some sounds, or mixing them differently, and who knows if changes I personally would make on that front would be an improvement for anyone other than myself? I don't. )
I think you should work on developing a reusable framework that will work for all of your videos to reduce time commitment and increase output. I like the animations, and you did a great job with them.
Seeing how close bannerlord is close to being fully completed, alot of people will come back and your channel is going to a very frequented channel, you really deserve at the very least 100k subs by the end of this year

Thank you! It's certainly satisfying to see the map painting :) As an EU4 player it was cool to see something similar for Bannerlord. I'm going to try to implement this into other campaigns as well, but maybe break it up so that it's not just 10 minutes straight of map changing lol

This was an extremely well-edited video. I rarely comment on videos, but this was a hell of an experience and you deserve full props. Thank you! Yeah it took me about 25 hours in total to figure out how to do it, take screen shots, stitch them together, get the name tags up and color in the starting lands. I think I'm going to redo it though, I would like to see more defined borders for each fief so I don't have to manually do it each time. It will take more time, but in the long run it's just a matter of changing color for that layer rather than drawing them manually. I'll probably do a more zoomed in map too, this was was about 4 screenshots tall and 2 or 3 wide if I recall? I would like to get more detail for those campaigns that aren't WC and most of the action will be from a zoomed in perspective.
@@Strat-Guides have you looked into the mod tools? Maybe you can open the map there. I'm on Linux and while game compatbility via wine/proton is steadily getting better, especially for Steam, mod tools and the like often don't work as well. So, I can't give any pointers, other than 'it might give you a fully viewable, clean, map'
Interesting, that's a good idea and I didn't consider that. I've used it a couple times to make custom maps for the tactics guide but I didn't think about looking at the main campaign map. Thanks, I'll look into it!!

Hehe that was the part that took the longest, I couldn't leave that out :) I'm going to try to integrate the story/tips in with the map next time so it's easier to follow. Great video!! I have been playing Bannerlord like crazy on the console I am on my 3rd full playthrough and have put in probably 250 hours of gameplay. It is such an addicting game. Part of the fun for me is building relationships with the nobles. It is so satisfying to hear them say "What are you saying exactly?" lol but on this current playthrough, I am definitely going to promote my companions right away after creating my kingdom, since I haven't tried that before. I usually just give them their own castle at the end of the game after I have conquered everything, haha.

Great recap! I'm glad I stuck around and watched the entire playthrough, it was very enjoyable. The map painting part's simply incredible, I'm very impressed by your effort. I wonder how different/difficult would the speedrun become if you had death enabled.
Thank you! I'm glad you stuck with it too :) It was a fun one for sure. For the next series I plan on integrating the map editing from the start, so it should be easier to follow along each episode. It's easy to get lost when you're zoomed in and watching a highly editing play through! I was thinking about this as well - starting at age 50 would not have worked out but I think maybe 30 or 40 would be fine. There were a lot of extra attribute and focus points that were spent on irrelevant categories so I think the build would have been the same in the end (just a little slower to get there). My biggest concern is companions dying in battle since we used them for all intelligence skills. I rarely play with death disabled so it was a little strange getting used to not seeing dead nobles after battle lol
I loved the time-lapse of the world conquest ! It's so interesting to see the events pan out like that, you have better understanding of how the wars happened, at times precise and calculated but sometimes utter chaos haha~ Well done ! Here's hoping we get some other playthrough like this one in the future. :-)
That's a great description! At times it was surgical strikes, taking out exactly which fief I wanted to and getting out before they retaliated. But other times it was like being in a moshpit lol Thank you! That land bridge between Ortysia/Garontor castle and Quyaz/Tubilis castle being captured without any back and forth brings joy to me. In my own campaign, it has been hotspot over 3 years now and I am too stubborn to quit on it.
Yeah I was a little surprised they didn't go after it very hard! Usually they swarm it hard but I guess they were busy elsewhere? It's such a good land bridge to hold. Once an enemy army crosses, there is no way back home :D
So I ended up accidentally conquering the world in about 11 years. Basically I reached clan level 3 after doing only blacksmithing and selling from the first single year and had infinite money to recruit Vlandian Champions and Battanian Fian's. Then I ran up to sturgia and conquered a castle and just kinda took like 30 1v1's until their entire Empire was in prison. From there I took every sturgian city with my 160 army stack. I had maxed out my charm so when I became a independent kingdom there was nothing left to do besides recruit all of the sturgian nobles to my side.... Idk what really happened next to be honest. My faction just kinda steam rolled Vlandia and I recruited their nobles as well. The remaining half of the game I coulda been afk because having those 2 factions nobles on my side made the game incredibly balanced in my favor. every battle from there was just a wash

I'm in the middle of planning a move so once that's all done it should be better :) For sure, it's much easier to see what's going on with moving highlights (especially since I keep the pace of these videos so high). They used to take forever, but I've literally done it over 1000 times at this point so I can knock them out pretty fast.
Making another attempt to get Calradia conquered by a faction of my choice. Tried being a vassal under all factions now going for a different approach which so far is going well. I am an Imperial mercenary who helps the Imperial factions retain their Imperial territory against the non-imperial factions. I started with Northern Empire but have not worked for them since. Mostly work with Western Empire but signed up with the Southern Empire to defend Amprela against a Sturgian Army which was a success. Plan is to help the Imperial factions out until someone wins the civil war then join them to conquer what is still not in Imperial hands. By the looks of it unsurprisingly that is going to be the Southern Empire. They have taken the majority of the Khanate and have two extra clans thanks to rebellions. They surround the Khuzait now only a matter of time before they take it all. Currently focusing on keeping Vlandia contained in the West but want to take back Epicrotia after the vassal there defected to Sturgia. At least Dey Rothad joined the Western Empire. We forced them back into Vlandia earlier and now fighting to keep it that way. If everything goes to shit was planning on rallying a new kingdom myself with other Imperial clans but that definitely won't happen.
Sorry for taking so long, it's been a crazy week for me. I appreciate the support and once I finish moving next month I will have tons of time to get back to putting 2 - 3 videos out per week :)
I love using your guides for my MULTIPLE rerolls, but I am always so frustrated cause I still cannot master the: 1v100 with no clothes and a cheap two hander/bow!! 🤣 You are 100% the best so keep making whatever kinds of bannerlord vids you want they are always awesome, educational, and inspiring!

It really depends on the difficulty you are playing on. On easy mode, you just need strategy and auto-resolve battles, kill all nobles and get the whole map in your name in 5 years. On maximum-difficulty, this becomes exponentially difficult with lords just not wanting to be a part of your kingdom and you having to rely on your 1500 troops most of the time
Yeah for sure. I was trying to keep this one clean with no exploits and no executions (it's a bit cheesy in my opinion, which I have nothing against for other people to do it but I don't find it fun personally). This campaign was played out on Bannerlord difficulty.
Every now and then, I come back to this guide, while I don't follow it step by step, I often use it as a solid base for a lot of my runs. Thanks for your hard work Strat! :)

Finally the mighty algorithm recommended this gem of a vid to me. Anyway, I used to do this thing in Warband. So little has changed. The optimal strategy seems almost the same. Even the way you approach this problem reminds me of the way I used to do it. I'll see if you have an update, but even if not, I know what you've done and it was good!

@@Strat-Guides In Warband the medicine stats and the engineering was overpowered. But after you got those maxed out, it's all very similar. Soloing for reknown, specing the companions in INT, not bothering with whack-a-mole siege defense too much, so forth. I wonder how much of a character development do you really need in order to progress the campaign. At some point I realized I can do it with starting combat stats of an extremely weak starting character. That was my fastest time.

Yeah Surreal has some otherworldly ability with story telling! I definitely can't match him on that front, so I learn more on the data/guide side of things as it's more suited to my personality lol He hasn't been uploading much these last couples weeks though, hopefully he's doing okay! @@Strat-Guides I think that's why I gravitate towards your Bannerlord content. The analytical/min-maxing info is very specific for you, and I think you do the best job with that form of content drip. I think balancing RP with min-maxing is how to most enjoy Bannerlord. I tried an Ironman canpaign recently and was SHOCKED with how much min/maxing I was achieving previously through save scumming.
Yeah save scumming can make such a big difference. I got used to playing EU4 Ironman for achievements and got used to it, but then when Bannerlord didn't have that option I used it all the time haha Especially with marriages! Those chat checks are crazy.

Glad to have you back! The recent couple of patches have been quite good so hopefully you have a good campaign :) I appreciate that. I think when the game goes to full release it will boost all Bannerlord channels. Yeah I think that's a good plan - it's okay to lose 1 fief if it allows you to take 3 - 4 more elsewhere. The AI isn't as efficient as the player so trading is okay sometimes.
@@Strat-Guides yeah i got back because pixelated apollo started playing it again and got curious about it since everyone saying bannerlord 2 is fully done, (started when on its first 2 to 3 weeks on steam) Then tried to search some strat, and yours are the best out of all youtubers out here. Thank you for watching! I appreciate the kind words :) I'm still new to UA-cam, I made my first video last year around this time so I still have a lot to learn. This particular video took me about 100 hours to edit it all together and make the assets, but I learned a ton during the process!
Thank you! That part probably took the longest. I tried to animate them all in DaVinci resolve, but my 1 minute test run was going to take over 17 hours to render and the whole map part was going to be around 10 minutes, so it would have taken me over a week just to render it LOL So I had to actually do it all by hand (139 in total). Each of those maps was painted by hand and stitched together with a blending transition. I may try it again the in video editor later but on a much smaller scale so it can handle it :)
I enjoyed this a lot, it might not be a crowd magnet since its 27 minutes but its basicly a lection on how to cheese the game to the fullest. And the map thingy showing all conquests was sick

Useful info. I know a lot of time was spent on the map timeline animation but I think a semi-storied voiceover would of been more effective. Definitely the best BL2 channel on YT
My original plan was to do the map with clips from the campaign every 15 - 30 seconds with voice over but to be honest, I just ran out of time lol I was expecting to spend 30 - 40 hours on this video, but it literally took over 100 hours in total so I had to just pull the plug and post what I had. In the next campaign, I'll be doing a much better job with my time management lol Thank you so much!!!

This triggered me more than calling yoghurt greek. Adding one.more thing: Khergit city and town names literally 1 or 2 letter diffrent then modern turkey city names. Why the mongol singing lol. I think most players associate Khuzait with the Mongols though which left Ceddin Ceden for the Aserai. It's such a great song so I'm just happy to put it in! That's interesting, I didn't realize the Turkish city names were that close to the Khuzait spelling! Very cool, I need to do some research on it. I can't speak for all your community, but I felt that was a bit too much nonetheless : past a certain point, you can't hide the fact that bannerlord battles get very repetitive especially when it's killing another 800 army miraculously spawned from a 0 fief faction. But I don't know how you could improve that, except by using a lot of moding which is unfortunately not on point yet in bannerlord.
I can't think of anything substantial, aka, things other than personal preference.
(Like changing some sounds, or mixing them differently, and who knows if changes I personally would make on that front would be an improvement for anyone other than myself? I don't. )
I think that it has been quite well recieved judging from the comments here.
Don't be too hard on yourself and take a break if needed.
I think you should work on developing a reusable framework that will work for all of your videos to reduce time commitment and increase output. I like the animations, and you did a great job with them.
The map-painting section was an absolute joy to watch, kudos on the editing work.

Thank you! Yeah it took me about 25 hours in total to figure out how to do it, take screen shots, stitch them together, get the name tags up and color in the starting lands. I think I'm going to redo it though, I would like to see more defined borders for each fief so I don't have to manually do it each time. It will take more time, but in the long run it's just a matter of changing color for that layer rather than drawing them manually. I'll probably do a more zoomed in map too, this was was about 4 screenshots tall and 2 or 3 wide if I recall? I would like to get more detail for those campaigns that aren't WC and most of the action will be from a zoomed in perspective.

Maybe you can open the map there. I'm on Linux and while game compatbility via wine/proton is steadily getting better, especially for Steam, mod tools and the like often don't work as well. So, I can't give any pointers, other than 'it might give you a fully viewable, clean, map'
Interesting, that's a good idea and I didn't consider that. I've used it a couple times to make custom maps for the tactics guide but I didn't think about looking at the main campaign map. Thanks, I'll look into it!!

Great video!! I have been playing Bannerlord like crazy on the console I am on my 3rd full playthrough and have put in probably 250 hours of gameplay. It is such an addicting game. Part of the fun for me is building relationships with the nobles. It is so satisfying to hear them say "What are you saying exactly?" lol but on this current playthrough, I am definitely going to promote my companions right away after creating my kingdom, since I haven't tried that before. I usually just give them their own castle at the end of the game after I have conquered everything, haha.

I was thinking about this as well - starting at age 50 would not have worked out but I think maybe 30 or 40 would be fine. There were a lot of extra attribute and focus points that were spent on irrelevant categories so I think the build would have been the same in the end (just a little slower to get there). My biggest concern is companions dying in battle since we used them for all intelligence skills. I rarely play with death disabled so it was a little strange getting used to not seeing dead nobles after battle lol
I have no idea how I managed to play over 150h of this game without discovering your channel.

It's so interesting to see the events pan out like that, you have better understanding of how the wars happened, at times precise and calculated but sometimes utter chaos haha~ Well done ! That's a great description! At times it was surgical strikes, taking out exactly which fief I wanted to and getting out before they retaliated. But other times it was like being in a moshpit lol

That land bridge between Ortysia/Garontor castle and Quyaz/Tubilis castle being captured without any back and forth brings joy to me. In my own campaign, it has been hotspot over 3 years now and I am too stubborn to quit on it.
Yeah I was a little surprised they didn't go after it very hard! Usually they swarm it hard but I guess they were busy elsewhere? It's such a good land bridge to hold. Once an enemy army crosses, there is no way back home :D

So I ended up accidentally conquering the world in about 11 years. Basically I reached clan level 3 after doing only blacksmithing and selling from the first single year and had infinite money to recruit Vlandian Champions and Battanian Fian's. Then I ran up to sturgia and conquered a castle and just kinda took like 30 1v1's until their entire Empire was in prison. From there I took every sturgian city with my 160 army stack. I had maxed out my charm so when I became a independent kingdom there was nothing left to do besides recruit all of the sturgian nobles to my side.... Idk what really happened next to be honest. My faction just kinda steam rolled Vlandia and I recruited their nobles as well. The remaining half of the game I coulda been afk because having those 2 factions nobles on my side made the game incredibly balanced in my favor. every battle from there was just a wash

Making another attempt to get Calradia conquered by a faction of my choice. Tried being a vassal under all factions now going for a different approach which so far is going well. I am an Imperial mercenary who helps the Imperial factions retain their Imperial territory against the non-imperial factions. I started with Northern Empire but have not worked for them since. Mostly work with Western Empire but signed up with the Southern Empire to defend Amprela against a Sturgian Army which was a success. Plan is to help the Imperial factions out until someone wins the civil war then join them to conquer what is still not in Imperial hands. By the looks of it unsurprisingly that is going to be the Southern Empire. They have taken the majority of the Khanate and have two extra clans thanks to rebellions. They surround the Khuzait now only a matter of time before they take it all. Currently focusing on keeping Vlandia contained in the West but want to take back Epicrotia after the vassal there defected to Sturgia. At least Dey Rothad joined the Western Empire. We forced them back into Vlandia earlier and now fighting to keep it that way. If everything goes to shit was planning on rallying a new kingdom myself with other Imperial clans but that definitely won't happen.
As a turk, i lost it when the janisarry music entered with aserai war LMAO, such a great effort and awesome video as always tho !

It really depends on the difficulty you are playing on. On easy mode, you just need strategy and auto-resolve battles, kill all nobles and get the whole map in your name in 5 years. On maximum-difficulty, this becomes exponentially difficult with lords just not wanting to be a part of your kingdom and you having to rely on your 1500 troops most of the time
Yeah for sure. I was trying to keep this one clean with no exploits and no executions (it's a bit cheesy in my opinion, which I have nothing against for other people to do it but I don't find it fun personally). This campaign was played out on Bannerlord difficulty.
Every now and then, I come back to this guide, while I don't follow it step by step, I often use it as a solid base for a lot of my runs. Thanks for your hard work Strat! :)

Idk how it works, but with -95% prisons escape governor my prisoners still managed to get freedom. Every 1-2 days 1-3 prisoners out of 50 escapes

Finally the mighty algorithm recommended this gem of a vid to me. Anyway, I used to do this thing in Warband. So little has changed. The optimal strategy seems almost the same. Even the way you approach this problem reminds me of the way I used to do it.

@@Strat-Guides In Warband the medicine stats and the engineering was overpowered. But after you got those maxed out, it's all very similar. Soloing for reknown, specing the companions in INT, not bothering with whack-a-mole siege defense too much, so forth.
I wonder how much of a character development do you really need in order to progress the campaign. At some point I realized I can do it with starting combat stats of an extremely weak starting character.

@@Strat-Guides I think that's why I gravitate towards your Bannerlord content. The analytical/min-maxing info is very specific for you, and I think you do the best job with that form of content drip.
I think balancing RP with min-maxing is how to most enjoy Bannerlord. I tried an Ironman canpaign recently and was SHOCKED with how much min/maxing I was achieving previously through save scumming.
Yeah save scumming can make such a big difference. I got used to playing EU4 Ironman for achievements and got used to it, but then when Bannerlord didn't have that option I used it all the time haha Especially with marriages! Those chat checks are crazy.

I have a problem with attacking to conquer more and defending my terittory to the other side of the map.
But will now try to sacrifice some of my teritory to annahilate one faction at a time, just what you said on the last part of the video.

I appreciate that. I think when the game goes to full release it will boost all Bannerlord channels.
Yeah I think that's a good plan - it's okay to lose 1 fief if it allows you to take 3 - 4 more elsewhere. The AI isn't as efficient as the player so trading is okay sometimes.
@@Strat-Guides yeah i got back because pixelated apollo started playing it again and got curious about it since everyone saying bannerlord 2 is fully done, (started when on its first 2 to 3 weeks on steam)
Then tried to search some strat, and yours are the best out of all youtubers out here.

Though bingewatching your channel, I still feel quite overwhelmed by the amount of perks and possibilities in-game. I hope to see more guides and possibly playthroughs as such in the future.

Yeah it's tough to know what pick or how to start without the experience. My plans are to make similar videos to this, but using different kinds of builds. Like an auto resolve only build around tactics, or heavy intelligence build with an army that pays you, etc.
I am just starting the video and immediately fell in love with it, just for Prussian's Gloria at the start!
Haha yeah I love that song! I first heard it years ago when I was watching some EU4 videos on forming Prussia and they used it. I've listened to it hundreds of times since then lol

Thank you for watching! I appreciate the kind words :) I'm still new to UA-cam, I made my first video last year around this time so I still have a lot to learn. This particular video took me about 100 hours to edit it all together and make the assets, but I learned a ton during the process!

Thank you! That part probably took the longest. I tried to animate them all in DaVinci resolve, but my 1 minute test run was going to take over 17 hours to render and the whole map part was going to be around 10 minutes, so it would have taken me over a week just to render it LOL So I had to actually do it all by hand (139 in total). Each of those maps was painted by hand and stitched together with a blending transition. I may try it again the in video editor later but on a much smaller scale so it can handle it :)
I enjoyed this a lot, it might not be a crowd magnet since its 27 minutes but its basicly a lection on how to cheese the game to the fullest. And the map thingy showing all conquests was sick
Lol yeah for sure, it was more of a "thank you" for everyone watching the series. It's definitely not worth doing from a channel growth stand point since I could have done 3 guides in the same amount of time (and the guides get more views each) but that's okay. Once in a while it should be done :)

Useful info. I know a lot of time was spent on the map timeline animation but I think a semi-storied voiceover would of been more effective. Definitely the best BL2 channel on YT
My original plan was to do the map with clips from the campaign every 15 - 30 seconds with voice over but to be honest, I just ran out of time lol I was expecting to spend 30 - 40 hours on this video, but it literally took over 100 hours in total so I had to just pull the plug and post what I had. In the next campaign, I'll be doing a much better job with my time management lol

It's always difficult to know what's going on unless you watch an unedited playthrough, but very few people have time to watch 1 hour episodes each day :P

Ottoman Empire songs starts playing.
This triggered me more than calling yoghurt greek.
Adding one.more thing: Khergit city and town names literally 1 or 2 letter diffrent then modern turkey city names. Why the mongol singing lol.

Haha yeah I know it's not a perfect match as the Ottomans are from the Steppes originally and certainly not Arabic, probably much more similar to the Mongols. I think most players associate Khuzait with the Mongols though which left Ceddin Ceden for the Aserai. It's such a great song so I'm just happy to put it in!
That's interesting, I didn't realize the Turkish city names were that close to the Khuzait spelling! Very cool, I need to do some research on it.
