Another stellar edition and what a one to end the series on! I've known Robin from the lost media show Blips and Tots TV so it's fascinating to see on the origins of his works here
Robin Stevens what an absolutely legend of great children's television programmes from the likes of Tots TV to Rosie and Jim and lots more brilliant shows. I love this interview and it is nice to hear about Robin's other work apart from the stuff he worked on with Ragdoll for example the BBC series for children Corners that was very similar in a way to CITV's fun and fact show How 2 which ran on CITV for a very long time and it was really interesting how Robin did Jo Corner on that programme. I love hearing behind the scenes secrets of Tots TV and it is interesting how Robin mentioned that Andrew Davenport used to do Tiny's voice I always have loved Tots TV and to think it ran for a staggering 5 years starting in 1993 and finishing in 1998 is just amazing it was a brilliant pre-school show. I absolutely love your podcasts Jack they are brilliant and great fun to listen to I love the guests you have interviewed
You should get Nigel Planer on one day. Not only was he a voice actor, but also an audiobook narrator, specifically for Terry Pratchett's The Color of Magic (and maybe a few other Discworld books) and Roger & The Rottentrolls
I was looking at the credits on the very first episode of Playdays (originally called Playbus) with Why Bird and discovered Robin's name underneath Why Bird's original Puppeteer, Fiona Benyon Brown under the title of "Puppet Maker". That got me thinking, I wonder if he was the first person to make the Why Bird puppet before her appearance modified over the years? I spoke with robin and he said he'd do a video about his full story with the teletubbies puppet in the house as I've been dying to know more about that
I've been following this channel and the actress who plays Soo did a podcast on it. I sent a message to the guy interviewing her about having Matthew on and he said that it's not possible and he can't say why. ua-cam.com/video/bzSitLYTk9g/v-deo.html
Nope, you might be thinking of the Rosie and Jim one I did a few years ago which featured Robin along with Rebecca Nagan and Neil Brewer. This one is Robin on his own discussing his wider portfolio of work such as Pob, Tots TV, Boobah etc etc.
I’d love it if Robin Stevens narrated an epic fantasy novel in Tom’s voice 😂😂

I asked him, he said yes, he made two of them out of coloured leather.
@@JacksThrowbackAttack I thought that was him. Must've been about 2 years before he did Rosie and Jim.

I’d like to see that because I used to be really scared of the puppet, and it still does creep me out, but I would like to know more about it
Wait, that's the guy who played Grandpappa on Boohbah and Mr. Perfect on Blips!😱
17:50 17:51
That is one of my favourite parts of this interview
17:53 17:54

Would be nice but I've already tried to no avail, he's living in a retirement village now.
@@JacksThrowbackAttack yeah I was aware of that, ah well but thanks for trying

You should try and get Jane Pardoe the animal lady in tots tv
Can you do Rob my favourite voice actor chatting
Was this filmed in 2024?
No, January 2023.
Why has it taken a year to come out then?
