Thank you! Yes I skipped on filling the fuel filter with diesel because I was in a rush and I decided that the Range Rover is going to be able to start this way. But the engine had difficulty starting so probably it would have been bether if I have filled the filter before hand. Some cars do not start if the filter is empty.
Hi sorry for the late response but I so your message only now and I just started researching if it is worth it for you to swap the td5 engine with the BMW one. I do not now a lot about this engines but I think that they are les powerful then the BMW one. But you should know that the BMW engine is known to have problems with overheating especially on the 6 cylinder. Another big problem for this engines is the fuel pump when it is worn the engine can't be started when it's hot. It is very difficult to get it running before it cools down.
As for changing the gasoline to diesel engine, I guess you can change it. I don't know why you want to replace them, but the diesel engine is quite underpowered compared to the petrol ones. Of course you can chip tune it to increase the power. But again, it won't be as powerful as the petrol ones. The diesel engine in combination with an automatic box is quite sluggish. To change go to a diesel engine you will need to change the wiring, the ECU, maybe the accelerator pedal. Also the fuel filter I think the boost pump in the tank, the exhaust system. Maybe also the engine mounts, the instrument cluster, to add a glow plugs relay. I don't know if the shafts should also be replaced. So it is not impossible but it is very difficult.
Good my friend
Thank you !
Great video, thanks for sharing!

Great video, just one question you didn't fill the fuel filter with diesel, it's normal how it worked?

@@the_amateur What is the best diesel engine for you, installed on the Range Rover of any model

The best diesel engine probably is the Range Rover III 2.9 TD 24V (177 кс). But the coolest diesel engine is the Range Rover IV 4.4 V8 (339 кс)
