I can't fault your taste. Project Binky is probably my favourite thing on UA-cam. I just wish it wasn't so long between episodes. On the other hand Tom's level of OCD is crazy. I wish I could keep my garage even 10% as clean as he does...
Defintely! Project Binky is excruciatingly long between eps. I imagine they're some pretty busy blokes, I guess. I think with Tom's Turbo Garage, that dude is a straight-up robot. Absolute surgeon, it feels like! Pretty sure I've seen brand new empty houses that were less clean than his shop! Betting I could lick beer off his floor and not have any unusual unexpected aftertaste.
just binged watched through this whole series, this is amazing! everything looks awesome, i love how you're showing all the detail and struggle and all of the little things and not just showing the finished product. :D
Thanks Paul. I am not an expert on any of it, I am just stubborn and persistent. It looks like you are having some fun there yourself. I love the give it a go attitude.
hello dude i really like your work watching in pakistan and i never knew when i am gonna comment here because i just found your channel three days ago and and its been more than 48 hours i am watching you doing stuff all around and i am sleepy now i have not slept for like 50 hours only you in my screen , , before my gf brake up with me i have to go out see the sunshine and have lunch with her ,, by the awesome datsun awesome 911 i really love the seats in 911 keep doing great stuff. someone is always learning from you somewhere in the world.. stay blessed
Nice work Jeff. Now, about the pedals; make sure you mount them as far to the right side of the wheel well as you possibly can. The RHD 911s normally have the accelerator in line with the steering column, and this makes heel and toeing an RHD car a bit of a nightmare, because your right leg has got to be canted left. The LHD cars on the other hand, have the clutch in line with the steering column, with the accelerator offset to the right, making heeling and toeing one an absolute delight! So yeah - get it right!
Hey Jeff. Any thoughts of using stainless bolts to hold that back grill on? The black ones really draw your eye to the bolt, and break up the stripes (That said, you are building this for YOU, so if you like the black ones, great!)
The stainless would look good, it is more that black is what I have. If I can get off my butt and order some I think you are right it would look better.
never mind the stripes... what's that blue project vehicle in the back at the beginning of the video? future v8 swap? btw: i finally caught on that you are slowly getting the mrs into cars through osmosis. crafty.
What kind of metal did you use for the grill? I'm thinking of making my own for my 996. Also are you going to make any of your tee shirts to sell? Everyone will buy them! Thanks. Joe
The stuff I used was zinc coated stuff, as that was all I could get locally to me. I know you can also get aluminium and stainless steel in similar perforated styles. It is funny you are asking about shirts, as I have finally gotten off of my butt and organised them. I am just waiting for some samples to come in, to make sure they are decent quality and then I will let you all know.
It would not contrast as well against the chrome, and then I would have to do something different with the purple. If anything, it would probably have been big purple stripes and orange small ones...
Coat hanger? Genius! Edit: I had the chance to buy a clapped out 914 in high school when I got my drivers license, but I decided not to because it was the "ugly Porsche." I still laugh at myself when I think about it.
Love the “screw ups”, makes us all feel better as it’s normal!
One of the best restoration/build channels on youtube

Home Built By Jeff I follow Project Binky, its awesome. Totally over engineered and over thought. I love it. Of course it will never get finished...
Glad you aligned the bolts with the centre stipe, that was bugging me last episode ahahhaa
Al is a great guy! Congrats on the wind screen. Nice job on the muffler too.

Exactly my thoughts.
I went OUCH! when I saw the drill chuck hit the paint...The stripes on the mesh looks very good. A V8 916 looks great! Thanks for the video
Thanks mate, the touch up is not that hard, it is just making more work for myself as usual...
Big improvement with the stripes and black underneath!

Thanks mate, I am glad you are enjoying the series.
Grill looks really great. Was nice before, now it's perfect.
Also: 914 for the win!
At first I wasn't sure about the interior but it's really growing on me.
It is very polarising, but I like it, which is all that really matters in the end I suppose ;)
yup good job Mate 👍

Yes, I noticed that with the old set up. When I mounted them I did it with the seat fitted to get the best position I could.
Live and learn I guess. My heart sank when "it" happened. And the look on your face! All's well that ends well?
Yep, just making more work for myself as usual...
At least you rip in and get it done. I spend so much time overthinking everything my projects go waay too sloooowly.
I was just watching Part 56 and thought to myself, that grille would look good with the stripes painted on it. Next episode .....
like the vw key
That was a gag gift from my sister in law.

The 240Z is the next in line, and I also have a very rusty Alfa 105 waiting to go after that ;)

i think the grating should be nut from underneath. i can imagine someone can open the nut easily and steal something in the car boot.
Any reason why you didn't paint the central grill stripe orange?
My first thought as well! I would, but I don't have a porsche to paint in the first place.

I never knew about the 914 until a couple of years ago. Just weren't common in Aus.
Why is your gauge cluster so off center?
I deliberately tilted the gauges to read them better.
purple black orange. ....wtf
