Done my 2005 Avensis key fob 6 or so months back, but not because of the battery, but one of the keys fell out, so I managed to find just the rubber buttons on Amazon, swapped them over and it’s as good as new now. The hardest part for me was snapping the two parts of the key back together, it doesn’t half take some force! I suppose it’s not opened up very often that’s why. Interestingly you didn’t have to snap yours on before screwing it down? Mine needed a positive click/snap together, otherwise the screw wouldn’t screw in

That is interesting. It did go back together really easily. Just a slight click. It may have been apart in the past. I’ve got the other key to do, so I will see what that one is like. 🤔
