Dude this is probably becoming one of my favorite channels for magic. You should totally do a Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis, with a group hug strategy cause I’ve never seen one below $80-$100.
I love your channel, it’s exactly what I needed being a poor highschooler that wants to build a lot of commander decks! You should do some with any of the theros gods too, those always make interesting commanders
You just made me look at the coolest commander deck I ever saw. It is not something broken, but it sure is powerful to the level that it is fun to play against. Keep your channel the best!
So many cards I never would have imagined would work so well with Locust god. This series is great for players not just on a tight budget but looking for other potential cards to use that are outside of established format staples.
@@TheCommandersQuarters Ironically, it is kinda fair after all this time. The game just got so much crazier. At least we can include them for $2, unlike the older days where it would've been a Reasonable Upgrade at best
Late, but Ashnod's Altar is probably the best card that you could add to the deck in the upgrades section. It allows you to generate infinite draws and infinite impact tremors triggers alongside skullclamp. Aside from just that, if you have a ton of insects, you could just blue sun's for even more insects without having the skullclamp combo.
This was the first deck tech I saw by you and 100 percent set me into edh when I traded my sorin from m20 for the Locust God and is still inspired by this deck tech with some fun additions, thank you for doing what you do
The Locust god is really a great commander ! I'm running mine with Jace's archivist which is an absolute must have in reasonnable upgrade ! Also while not being reasonnable, Consecrated sphinx is the bomb here ! I'm also playing Kumena's awakening type of effect to have passive draws
Awesome deck tech ! While tweaking it, so found an absolute monster of an artifact for only 70 cents ! Introducing Library of Leng : For 1 colourless mana (enabling trinket Mage's tutor ability), it gives you a limitless hand size, and makes it so you can put cards you discard from an effect (like the many wheels in your deck) on top of your library instead of your graveyard. Not only does this help you not mill yourself AND keep what you want from every hand you wheel, but it also turns the all-player wheel effects like windfall's and Jace's archivist's into mill win conditions !
Love this Channel and your decks, signed up last night to be a Patreon and it was awesome to see my name up there on one of your vids! Highly suggest to anyone who's a fan to become one the benefits are worth it and this is one of the best MTG channels
I added Narset, partner of veils. with this out you can wheel, and your opponents can only draw 1 card. Gives a nice card advantage. I also added Jace, Arcane strategist. Since his +1 ability is to draw a card, his -7 Ability is that creatures you control cant be blocked. And another good one i added was the Mindwrack liege. gives your insects +1/+1 for blue and +1/+1 for being red. and if your commander dies you can cast it for 4 B/R mana from your hand. so you not only skip the commander tax, but it makes him cheaper to get out
This deck is absurdly powerful for $25. I built a $50 version with some of the upgrades, some better lands, a couple different enchantments but overall the same show love like a 90 cards
Fun idea: if you take this deck and replace the commander with niv-mizzet, parun, those tokens are replaced with damage. It seems interesting enough for me anyway. Edit: I only saw most of the draw spells, didn’t see the golden card.
@@jacobsanford4609 I played Niv-Mizzet Dracogenius as a bait commander since Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius is weak in many ways. Then slam Locust God and start comboing.

Love it and this might be my next build! Already have some ideas on fixing it up with cards I already own. Quick note: you state Mindmoil costs 2 and a red. Clearly this is not the case, haha! If Mindmoil was a 3 drop, it'd be stupid expensive to buy!
What about Jin-Gitaxias? I guess he’s not exactly reasonable at 10 mana, but he gets you 7 drawn cards at the end of your turn and reduces everyone else’s hand size by 7. Plus he has flash.
I don't know what it costs, but if you really feel like being devious, then you can play Sage of the Falls. It triggers when you play it and lets you draw, then discard a card. That triggers The Locust God, wich triggers Sage of the Falls. You can do that infinitely until you either have all the insects you want, draw yourself out, or get that card you want. This pairs well with cards like Triskaidakaphile(if i even spelt that right) or other similar cards. You could draw up to 13 cards and win in you next turn. There are also plenty of cards that make it so your opponents can't block 1/1 creatures. God I love this commander.
Built the deck and ran it against a breya, a gisa and geralf and a talrend deck and goddam it makes people mad! Don't get me wrong, I love it! You attract hate just because you're drawing so much, and it's actually pretty fast! I added the recommended upgrades and played 2 fetches and added some duals and a shockland...wow! Dragon Mage would be a good beater for this deck. And Psychic Vortex might also do well in this deck, if you don't mind the cards downside of sacrificing a land at the end of the turn. And Laquatus's Creativity made the card roster!
Awesome deck man. Deck recommendations: Niv Mizzet Parun (or Firemind) + Curiosity (equal equals one hit win combo), Memorial to Genius, Peregrine Drake (or Palichron which is very none budget at $50) + Deadeye Navigator + Azure Guildmage (or Mulldrifter) = Infinite card draw/mana + Laboratory Maniac or Stroke of Genius for an alternate win con. In a different deck (since these cards aren't Red/Blue), you can combine The Locust God's effect with either Beck//Call or Huatli, Radiant Champion's Emblem to draw as amny cards as you desire for free, getting an insect for each one.
With Kindred Discovery, Impact Tremors and The Locust God, you can make an infinite combo: play Kindred Discovery and select insect. Then play the god and the Tremors.
