I am excited for this. It’s glad to hear a good take because I have had a hard time making sense of some of the criticisms. Unfortunately, the lord of the rings fans can be extremely toxic and gate keepers. I personally enjoy all the films, including the hobbit films (despite the hobbit being my favorite book of all time). I am even enjoying the rings of power.
I think that there is definitely a lot here to be excited about 😁 it seems to me that it is always far more click-baity to rip things apart and spread criticism where it isn't deserved. Credit where it is due... I think that this is an exciting return to Peter Jackson's middle earth. Please let me know your thoughts once you have seen it as well 😁
It's far easier to tear something down and rip it apart than be positive and share your honest thoughts... unfortunately that's what gets more clicks 🙈
I thourougly enjoyed this return to middle earth. Visuals and audio were absolute candy. I’ve had multiple people tell me I know nothing of animation, but to be honest I really liked the style - it felt very physical and real. Art is subjective The story of Hera and her family was very gripping. You quickly learn to care for these characters
I really felt the stakes for the future of Rohan in this film... it was a great way to tell a more contained story within the broader world of Peter Jackson's middle earth 😁 And I agree... it looked amazing on screen! 🎬
Thank you for creating and sharing this video. I love this informative and useful review. The amount of trolls that are so upset they made this movie is so bizarre. I’ve been stoked for this movie for over 16 months and I am so ready to experience this on Thursday.
It's definitely been a long wait and a long time coming! I think that the future of lotr definitely lies in live action, but this was a refreshing deviation and a great way to tell a new story in a universe we all love 😁 You have to let me know what you think once you have seen it!
Tolkien books and movie (Jackson) fan here. My oldest kids are fans as well. I watched and hated every minute of Rings of Power. I loved this movie. I loved that it was an Anime. Hera wasn't a girlboss, she was quite vulnerable, real, and feminine. BTW, what is the difference between a female Hero and a GirlBoss? That needs to be well defined. A man can be a B.A. hero, but a girl can't?
@devitradio couldn't agree more! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it 😁 That's such an important distinction to make and in my opinion it all comes down to whether you are forcing a narrative to fit an agenda and im my opinion this film didn't do that at all! 💪
I thought it was fine. The story was simple, the characters reflected that mostly (to me anyways), and some of the dialogue was a bit clunky and awkward at points. With that being said, it was definitely not the girl boss lore breaking movie people are making it out to be. It does raise a plot hole about the severe lack of ballistas in the world, but that’s not something worth complaining too hard about.
No lore breaking in this film....are you for real 😂😂 Please go read some of Tolkien's work and then rewatch the movie. You have some wild takes that is for sure!
@@WhatsPoppingBruce Sure for this movie try Appendix A section 2 The House of Eorl. This isn't a faithful creation based of the roughly 2 & a half pages about the end of Helm rather taking the movie that should have been about Helm and basically using his name to give creditability to a boss/mary sue character that a writer has created for themself. To shoe horn the orks looking for the ring and Hera off to see Gandalf simply completely unnecessary. My suggestion to you as a content creator would be to put a little bit of work into your reviews, I don't think reading the roughly 2 & a half pages that is the source of the movie should be too much to ask.
@Team-Aaron what's more... the same section of the appendices you cite refer to helm's death with reference to Helm dying one night when he was out stalking his enemies. He was found dead as a stone but with unbent knees, standing upon the Dike near the Hornburg. Is the movie embellishing this to create a narrative? Obviously... is it lore breaking? I remain unconvinced.
@@WhatsPoppingBruce Classic! Much like your review you again missed the point. If you took the time to read the comment you would have seen "To shoe horn the orks looking for the ring and Hera off to see Gandalf simply completely unnecessary." key point would be unnecessary not lore breaking, the lore breaking come from what the writer changes from the Apprendix in order to push the made up character.
I don't think you know what the words "visual spectacle" mean. It's crappy 70s Japanimation. And no "Tolkien Nerd" could possibly support this. Your fandom is revoked.
I think its a great medium for a story of this type that perhaps doesn't warrant a full live action outing and is a little less risky for the studio. But i can't wait for the hunt for gollum and the other live action projects that are in the works... as long as it's not rings of power 😅🤣
what wake up call? there were very few people who were thinking of having lotr be animated. I like animated and its a shame that people are going to hate on it despite its potentially good story just because it exists alongside Rings of Power released along the same time. Plenty of lotr reviewers (who aren't actually lotr reviewing, just anti woke) get mad because it makes money for the algorithm.
Anger and outrage get clicks... these are facts...and i couldn't agree more! Really enjoyed my time with this film even though i was worried going in 😁
Imo anime is not suitable for lotr. Maybe if they had gone with animation like 2007s beowulf i would had been more interested but anime was clearly a wrong choice!
Beowulf….the motion capture disaster of uncanny valley? Oh goodness me, I think you need to rewatch Beowulf if you think it has great animation. A lot of people have never watched anime, yet are quick to judge The War of the Rohirrim without even watching it.

Saw it in IMAX, very enjoyable
It's such amazing animation to see on the big screen! 😁
At this point wouldn’t the ring be in Gollum’s possession not at the bottom of the river? Gollum had the ring for more than 200 years.
You are right! I stand corrected... Gollum had the ring for over 500 years 🙊 so it was likely with him in the cave during the events of this film 😁

Amen! Completely agree with what Andy Serkis had to say about this one 😁

@Team-Aaron what is unnecessary or shoe-horned in your opinion still does not constitute breaking of the lore...

"Japanimation?" How old are you? I think it's been at least 20 years since I last heard someone use that term.
