Just depends on how much he's practiced the song and/or how much movement he needs to make. For example, he doesn't break eye contact on Flight Of the Bumblebees despite it being a very challenging song.

Music has been the main medium for fads and memes since pretty much forever. Wasn't much else do. A lot of now obsolete musical instruments existed just so that people could have something to do at home besides sing acapella if they weren't rich enough for a piano.

I tried to play it on my trumpet, it's the same 4 notes over again for like 2 bars then goes up to another 4 notes just goes up and down 4 notes, but it's still pretty fast, but with metronome practice it's a pretty easy song.
