Love your swing! as fellow tall person I forget to bend my knees vs bending at the waist. Using our legs can also help you generate more power vs just using your shoulder and wrist. Bending also helps with those low balls and getting more top spin on your balls as well! 6:21 you look great, keep up the good work!
@@TriMPhamThank you for the feedback and encouragement! I thought I was using my legs a lot, but watching myself play, I realize I’m barely doing it lol gotta keep practicing!!
I’m still playing with my Mod TA 14mm because my Vatic Pro Saga’s edge guard started detaching at the top of the paddle and I don’t have another paddle for an upcoming tournament 😑 I’ve got a Diadem Edge 18K SP coming that will hopefully hold the fort until March when the Perseus IV Pro releases.
0:15 I don't know if it's about strength though. Even if your strength is 1/4 of a young person, it's going to be plenty fast enough if you have the technique down.
Insane timing. I agree with everything you said. Got the modTA my balls shoots out like cannon. Been consistently using the DBD, and yes it’s the best. Cheers!!!
just the fact that you do drills, i can tell that youll be improving really quickly. id suggest you hire a coach at least once to show you the proper way to drive the ball. its not so much that youre not worth but the way youre contacting the ball while you drive isnt where you want it to be. i have the dbd too but i needed a little more power so i got the j2ti. i played with the gearbox pro ultimate and thats a really powerful paddle, but once you know how youre supposed to drive, it makes sense.
@@henryung2980Thanks for the encouragement! I’m definitely planning to hire a coach soon to gain a better understanding of my game and pinpoint what I need to improve
It’s so interesting to me when 3.0s think they’ve solved the game and believe hitting slow is never necessary. That whole time had you never once played with a good player or watched a pro match?
@@DominationRD When I first started, I mainly played with friends at a similar skill level since I saw it more as a social activity. But yeah, like I said, as I’ve started playing with higher-level players, I’ve come to realize just how important dinking and playing at the kitchen really are.
Honestly, I don’t have a specific reason for choosing the DBD. I just heard great things about it from various videos and Reddit, so I thought I’d give it a shot. If you have any recommendations for a good control paddle, let me know. I haven’t tried many yet and am always open to exploring different options :)

Wow, your timing on this is insane!
LOL totally unintentional, but what a timing

Yeah I really wanted to continue using the mod but it was too much to handle. Excited to use the DBD!!
but till July, most of users will replace the paddle at that time.
I wish I had that luxury. I do play tournaments and have to get used to another paddle sooner than later.
Isn't the Gear Box Power elongated the most powerful???
@@iantercero5380 yeah probably! I’ve never tried the gearbox

If you want to go 4.0 you need to change the technique of your forehand.
Yup that's what I have been told haha planning on working with a coach soon!

Why the DBD? I know people love it, but it’s so just old news 2023 gen 2 thermoformed. There’s just so many new better innovations at this point
