The opening is created by the second end going over the first bow. That's the top. The front of the opening is created by the first bow as you hold it away from the shirt to form the gap. Next, I found it easier to fold, or shape the second bow first, then place it through the opening, bottom tip first. After that, one key factor is to pull on the two folded bow ends apart to tighten the bow, then pull the two tail ends to reshape the bow tie. Repeat this until the bow is tight and symetrical. That is a lot of words for something that will become quite easy to do with practice.
That is irrelevant, i have to use this kind of bows for one of my subjects in my classes, and i have to use a tie too, everyday i knot it, and i learn the simple one, and the eldridge too. And with them and without them, i look great and still being a girrly girl haha :P

You don't show at what point you create the bit that your finger peaks through behind the bow. Not a great demostration.

Just buy the kind that clips behind the bow, it is much easier. On regular ties, buy a tie that you actually tie yourself.
