First - s/o to you reviewing CHORDimist! Thankfully I've been actively working on improving my theory / progression skills (mainly R&B producer), but this tool was a breath of fresh air when I found it last year to help generate ideas. Looking forward to checking out your thorough tutorial later 🙌🏾
Do you know if you can automate any of the parameters, like rate or voicing type? Or can you modulate them within the device? I'd purchase it right now if the dice feature could also be used to modulate some of the parameters. Hard to find much info about whether you can automate parameters with midi also
@@jsenior65 Wassup man. I do not think you can automate the parameters of this device. Ableton doesn’t give me the option to. The workflow seems to be set up all of your movement and modulation within the device.
Have you changed the track name of your Chordimist? I ask this because when you load in Chordimist the track name doesn’t change, it remains titled “Midi” until you change it. This made me think that it wasn’t showing up for me until you caught on to this.
@@MicahWeston So I figured it out. In Ableton Live 12 Suite you no longer have to route anything. Simply open up the VST first, then load Choridmist on the same midi channel. Worked for me 👍
Wassup. So whatever is on their product page is all the info the public has about this device. From forums I’ve read it seems that it hasn’t had an update since it was released, which scares some folks. I’m in Ableton 12 now and it still works fine.
Is there a way of finding the right chords to match a sample? I'm having to much trouble matching the chord arrangements of this sample to the midi notes in my track 😢
@@peakingmantis5331 Well for me it’s quite simple as long as I know the real key that the sample is in. After I find the key that the sample is in I choose and structure chords from CHORDimist by ear. Depending on how complex I want it to be, it can get pretty time consuming.
@@rough3h34 wassup bro. I don’t have a push 3, I have a 2 so I do hope someone with a 3 and a CHORDimist responds. Since it’s a Max4Live device, I hope it does work!
@@proEdit7777 That could be your RAM peaking while using it. I have noticed that this thing can be pretty RAM hungry. I freeze a lot of tracks that I’m no longer working on to compensate for this as I work.
Wassup g. You can definitely use this on any version. Their Payhip page where you buy the device says it’s fully compatible with Live 10 suite, 11 suite, and 12 suite.
Woooah. I’m not sure how true this is but if so, I honestly had no clue. Bless his life. He gave the world something so awesome. Thank you for letting us know.
@@MicahWeston i dont mean the plugin itself..i mean the actual notes and keys....very difficult....if it were easy there would definitely be presets that exist...but there is only one....the original neo soul joint from the author
Such a versatile tool to acquire. Thank you for making a detailed video on it!
@@The_Slowburn No problem. This thing is powerful and fun to use.
love your channel bro, such a talent and so chill. Big love
Thanks Commonbeats I appreciate you leaving a comment, showing love to the channel 🙏🏾
pleasure bro 🙏@@MicahWeston

Thanks! Yeah this tool is insane. I think a lot of producers want to keep it a secret lol.

My Choridmist should up but doesn't show up when i try routing it. Only thing I see under ALL ins is Max for Live 1 and Max for Live 2

@@MicahWeston no I didn’t change it I dropped it into Ableton the same way you showed in the video
@@RonGotTheRecipe Change the name of the track that you have Chordimist on and see if you see it then when try routing again.

The feeling of the plug-in feeling like a toy is such a missed thing nowadays.
For real man!!
Hello, What is the latest version of CHORDimist? Thanks

Does anybody know if Chordimist works on push 3 standalone?

Copped thanks to you
@@Hakimworldwide Dope! This thing is a beast fr!
@@MicahWeston yeah great tutorial bro. that beat that you made for chance in mind brought me here! Super fire beat as well
@@Hakimworldwide Thanks Adé. I definitely rock with what you do as well man! Have a blessed Sunday.
I wish you didnt have to need Suite version to run it, would be nice to use it in any DAW too...
I feel you. Just going off of their Payhip page, the last time I checked it only mentions suite. I wish it mentioned other versions.
does anyone experience a 'crackle' sound when using the plugin?
@@proEdit7777 That could be your RAM peaking while using it. I have noticed that this thing can be pretty RAM hungry. I freeze a lot of tracks that I’m no longer working on to compensate for this as I work.
Does it work only with Live Suit or also with Live Standard ?
Their Payhip site only says Suite. I’m not 100 percent sure if it will work for standard
@@MicahWeston It works with Standard but you have to use Max For Live in all cases.
Unfortunately it is not compatible in Ableton Standard versions
Question is this plugin for on 12 or can 11 buy it too?
Wassup g. You can definitely use this on any version. Their Payhip page where you buy the device says it’s fully compatible with Live 10 suite, 11 suite, and 12 suite.
I wonder if they have something like this for logic
I would hope so!
can this run on other daws
Unfortunately not. This is a 3rd party Ableton device.
@@MicahWeston thank you
lol theres a griselda track that uses the packed in preset lol no shade just throwin that out there
My understanding was the developer had unfortunately passed away, so there won’t be any further development…that ultimately kept me from buying it.

when?....because i think i talked to this dude when i bought it
@@less_tress I don’t believe this is confirmed.
i have owned this for years....i love it ...but i never use it....setting up is fucking difficult
Wow, what about the setup of the plugin you feel is difficult?
you could always set it up in your project template
