@@Rumble_Bee uppercut on a ball sends it perfectly over walls and the like, and it is the only move that applies forward momentum without pushing you back so it's a light and easier version of double straight
Bruh imagine 10 years from now this or something like this becomes an esports division and we get actual big battles with audiences all in vr and we get to see them earth bend, where your powers like that flick or how big a wall you can spawn(or maybe other elements) scales with your level. Or requiring an higher level to parry bigger objects. Maybe this is all already in concept but I just found this and my mind went racing, very cool concept and cant wait to see where this goes!
You're thinking too small. Leveling, as a whole, is just a concept that helps to balance out progression. What's better is if it takes greater care to create bigger structures. That way, skillful people can do it early (instead of waiting to keep grinding out more levels) and skill-less people can't do it (instead of being granted the ability as a reward for just playing a lot). It's like quickscoping or parkour. You're not given the ability to hit headshots more often as a bonus for playing 200 hours; you play 200 hours and then you get good enough to do it innately-- or maybe you get it down after only 40 hours, and should be rewarded as such.
@@buritomaster But that's what's ALREADY happening in RTS games and Mobas and stuff. People are winning based on skill, and they're losing based on skill. RTS games routinely require you to click faster than your opponent to produce more troops, to react to threats more quickly, to keep your territories modern and balance tech tree menu navigation with front line supervision. Does that "not make any sense at all" to you?
@@buritomaster This sort of meta already exists in fighting games already. For example, some games have 1-frame (or 60th of a second) windows for certain combo execution. Everyone has the same tools, but how you use it is completely based on the player. Fighting Games are a very physical genre, so the players have a real life APM.
@@buritomaster What's the problem? Isn't that realistic, that given any two fighters, one might be more skillful and that lets them cast spells the other couldn't? That's like saying a game about music means you're not allowed to play any songs that the other person can't play.
@@buritomaster What differences, what meaningful differences, are there, between inputting a move using a controller that reacts to button presses and joysticks, versus a controller that reacts to hand motions? What differences are there between those two things that make you say "It's not the same?" Why is it not the same?
Could add some sort of "Rubble" or "Rip up ground" move that churns a patch of ground so that grounded objects can't move over it/get ungrounded when they touch it, as well as moving slower on it, stopping you from sliding, and not being able to summon blocks/balls etc. from that area. Could also add the ability to split big blocks into smaller ones - summoning a big rectangle piece, then splitting it into two cubes, then a cube becomes two balls, then each ball can become two disks? could be interesting
one of the things I'd love to see in the game are custom structures. like being able to draw walls, so you could make a curvy wall or a long straight wall. you could make them with separate hands too. that'd be sick. I'd also like to see more mobility options with bending. like making pillars you can stand on and extend. This is why my games are hard to finish by the way 😂. The game looks amazing. The concept is so good that it gets my imagination running.
I think adding a form change form function on the different blocks, would be a great addition to the game. For instance, you could change the pillar into a spear. The throw you showcased in 7:04 would have been perfect for the function. What if once a wall was grounded you could turn it into a more shield like object which guards more. Maybe it would be like the reverse hand movement of the Explode function, moving your arm from forwards to backwards, and the block falls apart into a different more weapon looking object that deals more damage instead of increasing knock back. the hand movement is really big and gets you hand out of position so it balances out.
disc looks op. it is just so fast compared to everything else and you spawned+shot it instantly anyways, What a great concept for a VR game. I'll have to try it myself and see :)
It's way weaker and quite small though. In particular, as they showcased, stronger projectiles will just break weaker ones on contact, so it would be really hard to get a disc through.
Cool video!! Very good explanation. I hope as the meta develops the devs are willing to make adjustments to keep a diverse set of strategies in the game, but as a base I'm very impressed with how well they did!
