Owing to people like Maruthaiyan and co today Carnatic music is almost out of TN. 40 years back all the great vocal and non vocal carnatic music performers were from TN. Today AP ,Telangana along with Kerala and Karnataka are beginning to top. This is happening owing to deep dislike for Carnatic music in TN.
DK and EVR gangs linked Carnatic music to Iyer and Iyengars. The hatred for Iyer and Iyengars has been linked to Carnatic music as well. In another 30 years we would hardly have any leading Carnactic music vidwan or vidushi from TN. This is what DK and EVR gangs want to achieve.

As usual there comes a crooked brain with crooked explanation of the on going feud between pro and against the decision of Music Academy to honour one T M Krishna with a Kalanidhi title as expression of anti non Brahmin attitude by the artists who are against the decision of Music Academy.
I am neither a musician nor involved in this controversy in any respect. But I must say that Marudayans are just waiting in the wings to give a crooked twist to the issue and divert the subject to one of anti non Brahmin and anti tamil issue by the artists opposed to honouring TMK. The statement given by the grandson of late MS Amma and son of late Radha Visvanathan, V.Shrinivasan has placed the issue in proper perspective. His stand is very clear and that is exactly the point of the opposing group that a man who consistently ridiculed the musical prowess of MS Amma and the man who boycotted the Academy for many years does not deserve this honour. Mr. Shrinivasan has outlined the objectionable comments of TMK about his grandmother. Incidentally. MS Amma did not have any Brahmin background. The opposing artists have taken the cudgels in support of a honourable artist of yesteryear against a Brahmin artist. So, Marudayya, don’t bring in caste issue here.
Nobody in the modern time has contributed to preserving Tamil literature even a fraction of what one U Ve Swaminathan Iyer did by selling his small assets to meet the expenses😮. Have any of you ever mentioned his contribution even in passing let alone honouring him appropriately?
You glorify one EVR but never gave even a left handed praise to the man who successfully fought for the entry of Harijans into our temples. His name was C.Rajagopalachari. Even today the upper caste NB Hindus commit atrocities in various places against Harijans who are not allowed to even enter their residential area let alone into the temples under their control.
Starting from Nammazhwar whose exact birth period is still not known several Brahmins made great contribution to Tamil literature. But you people would never take their pasurams into count.
Marudayya, please for heaven sake stop this mischievous practice of dividing the society with caste card. It is a very very low pastime.
It is nobody’s claim that one needs brain or Gnanam to learn Carnatic music. It is a question of interest and it has so happened that by and large Brahmin parents push their children into learning Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam. Any interested kid can learn Carnatic sankeetham irrespective of caste or creed. A Christian by name Jesudas took interest and one Chembai Vaidyanatha Iyer took him into his fold and gave a great musician to the Carnatic world.
Singers are not writers except may be one TMK. And they care less about his views published through books. Who are you to question if no artist came forward to counter his views by wasting their time to write a book. They can’t care less. Period.
