Holy $hit! You're flat out amazing! Thanks a ton for this. Painting my bike this week because of these simple steps in your process. You gave me confidence. Cheers my man
🙏🙏👑👑
That looks great Jerry. I never realized you could get a finish like that out of a spray can. Thanks for sharing that!
Thats not normal spray can paint its automotive urethane paints in a can.
as long as you dont used krylon or rustoleum junk, you still need quality automotive paint and a 2 part clear.
I'm astonished. I really didn't think it was possible to get a finish that good without a professional setup. Looking forward to trying it
Here's another fairing I painted with spray cans. ua-cam.com/video/qwCnqOoGb5M/v-deo.html
Great to see I'm not the only one painting from a "rattle" can. Appreciate the Video!
That is an incredible paint. This is going to be my method 100%. Even professional paint jobs on a motorcycle will only last so long before you have to do it again anyway. Plus gives you more opportunity to do it how you want it 👍 amazing video just awesome.
Woah I wanted to see how to do it and didn't expect Jerry to teach me something new today
Well of you ever change your mind about teaching how to ride motorcycles, you can paint cars! Great job Jerry
That color looks stunning.
I love camera girl! Patients is something you are short on!
Good job, on that project! You're the first Cop, I've known with patients. Really! I was just bust'en on ya, Jerry!
Motorman, Thank You for this great lesson! I recently purchased an unpainted Sharknado fairing from Paul Yaffes. I tried for two days to find someone to paint my new fairing, but everyone I talked to was either too busy or didn’t want the work. Two companies didn’t even return my calls. One company said that they would do the job for $500.00, but didn’t really want the work. I don’t hire people that don’t want the work. I searched on line for DIY solutions and your video was hands down the best. I have everything thing I need ordered and am confident that I will be proud of the finished product. Thank you for all your videos and instructions. You are truly a leader.
How much did everything come out to?
Did you paint your fairing ?
That's impressive!
I've never seen beautiful results like that from a can.
Love the color too.
Thank you!
That looks pretty easy to do. That color is amazing.
Jerry another great video, I actually work in Automotive Coatings. Wet sand 2000 grit, then again 3000 grit. Thank you for this video. Your first coat was excellent. I can also recommend to all the channel Chris Fix that covers items like this too.
Thanks 👍
Thank you. I have a fairing to paint and this gives me hope. Also use the riding lessons every day.
How'd it go?
Rattle can paints have come a long way. Proper prep , patience and technique can yield professional results for pennies on the dollar, as Jerry's vid shows. You can even paint over chrome. It's all in the prep.
I've been using kustom paintz for years, I've used both cans and spray gun. The quality is fantastic. The company is fantastic too. I've used they're products for over 10 years building and restoring motorcycles. You are 100% correct, prep work is most important. Putting heat to the clear coat takes out all discoloration. I have lots of pics and videos to show how awesome the product is.
What do you use for the cut and buff? PM me I've got my paint and will start scuffing tonight
Thank you from the UK for this. I’m doing my own motorcycle paint job as per your instructions.
Hi
How did you get on painting your bike?
@@geoffreycasey875 exceptionally well. I paid a professional to do it ! 😁
Beautiful job. I've painted threes a lot to it
That came out incredible and yes rattle can paint has come a long way! Great job and thanks for sharing!
Looks great! Where you at Palos Verdes, Orange Hills, I'll be right over!
Great and easy to follow instructions. I know a guy that has painted whole motorcycles, cruiser and bagger, with spray can paint (high quality) designs and all. It can be done, now I feel like I could try it.
Rattle cans are good if you do the prep work, nice job👍
Great job. Try using running water from a hose while you wet sand. It makes it easier to see the cut and washes and debris away so it does not scratch .
Good idea.
nice job. I always thought you needed to wet sand between every coat of clear. you proved me wrong!
I enjoy doing this myself, and learned something from this video. Thank you.
Wow..that's brilliant..such a satisfying job and a great colour!
Dude, that's a beautiful bike.
THAT LOOKS BRILLIANT
Wow, that looks amazing. Excellent work sir.
really nice job buddy saves breaking it all down and sending it to the paint shop. I bet help with wind resistance on curves...lol Just kidding
Hello from Fort Erie Ont Canada, across from Buffalo NY. And yes it's cold but I'm still riding when I can until the roads are covered with the white stuff sand etc. Lucky to be in Florida to ride all year, I am actually wearing snow pants to ride lol. Hello to Donna hope all is well with your family.
Nice job man! I might just do this to my Moto Guzzi this winter. Thanks!
Prep and patience, you need both for the technique to work, just like riding a motorcycle. Great upgrade to the bike.
My old street bob needs a refresh.. want to do from tatty old denim to a nice glossy gun metal.. this might just have persuaded me to give it a go ..
That’s a top job .. 👍
Very helpful video 👌🏻 this weekend gonna paint some fairings of my vstrom.
Pretty sweet. I was wondering about diy options. Got a buell that needs some TLC. on the plastics. Don't need it fancy but I don't want matte or peel all over it either.
Thank you for the tutorial sir. God bless.
That's mind-blowing the results are just perfect! I just wanted to buy something to restore and this will come super handy
Now ,how many requests for paint work are you going to get ;). Very nice job by the way.
Thanks Jerry. That's was really encouraging. I feel more confident giving this a go. Great job.
Thanks Motorman. Nice job.
You sure did do a good job, Jerry. Thanx much for the tips. I’m about to do my helmet to match my bike.
Have a great day!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That would be sick
Thanks Jerry, that was so much help. Regards Marcus.
Glad it helped
Good Job
You’re a talented man , very educational
Patience will persevere
Thanks for your time
Keep um coming please
That looks awesome. Love that color. I want my old bike in that color now
That's what I want to do to my 97 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic. I love the original colors on mine so I'll probably just stick to the original colors. Nicely done!
That was awesome sir! I've got 2 bikes im looking to repaint. That gives me the inspiration to do it. Cheers
Great teaching job you should be a instructor for a painting school for bikes and cars I'm gonna try this on my victory cross country thanks for the info 👍
Looks amazing great video Jerry!
Thanks a bunch!
Excellent work. Really appreciate the video.
Glad you liked it!
Great work! I’m about to do this to the Road Warrior fairing on my FXLRS, just looking into finding the paint match. I looked into the company you suggested but I don’t see anything that matches, unfortunately.
Man, I know that Midnight Crimson color got hated on by some but I love it!
I have my Crimson Road Warrior for sale. The very one you see in this video.
Good Stuff Jerry. Kustom Paints are excellent. I used them to color match my Vaquero paint. I recently painted lower fairings on my 21 Road Glide with paint matched color by Colorite. The Lowers were black Amazon stuff. They came out excellent. My recommendation to you about buffing, the Fast Correcting Cream might be a little aggressive and leave some swirls. The 2k Clear I used was so good (SprayMax) that I did not even need to buff or wet sand. Also you may want to use some Bullydog adhesion promoter if not using a primer.
Between sprymax clear coat and Kustom kanz, which do you think is better? And what advantages and disadvantages have you found in both brands? Thank you
@@mutilation7763 Spraymax is the best clear coat you will find in a rattle can. It is true 2 part automotive grade clear. Kustom Kanz I did not use their spray can clear, I used the 2 part clear that had to be sprayed with a gun. Colorite was the best for an exact factory color paint match, but a little more expensive than Kustom Kanz.
@@easyglider1307
thanks for your answer
* Then the clear coat 2k of kustom canz is not so good? because they have their normal 1k paints, but also the clear 2k. cheers
@@mutilation7763 I used the Kustom Paints 2k clear but it was for a spray gun, I had a tour pack painted with it and it looks like glass. Quality clear coat for sure. The Spray Max is the best 2k in a rattle can.
@@easyglider1307
thanks for your answer, I understand that you used it for a Spray gun, I was asking because as kustom kanz it also has 2k clear coat in spray can, maybe you had used that and the spraymax, and you had compared them to have which one has more hardness at the end after having dried correctly, which one was better leveled in the application, more shine obtained and other details.
Nicely done, Jerry!!
thank you so much for this video. Im so glad you have the same color motorcycle as me
.
WOW, that looks really good!
VERY NICE
I have to do my side covers. I strech my legs out over the pegs. And my chaps and or jeans rub them. Now on that color! HD in 07 had a black Cherry. Looks pretty close!
This shop has Black Cherry. Since the side panels are close to the tank and fender, a color match is important. custompaints.com
Harley is famous for resurrecting old colors and giving them different names to make them sound new.
Beautiful bike Jerry. Well done!
Many thanks!
So many hidden talents. Well done, ride safely 🤓
Thanks 😀
That turned out really nice. I also have a little painting project to do, so thanks for the how-to here. This on top of all the how-to-ride videos that have been helping me, that is!
Glad it was helpful!
all i can say jerry is its like the rest of the bike badass great job
That looks awesome.
Beautiful, Jerry.
Many thanks!
Than you. More how to's please
Awesome job Jerry! Looks perfect 🤩
Color matched excellent. 😎👍🇨🇦

I love that Crimson color Jerry! Good info and great video as usual. Amazing that you did it with a spray can! Thanks for sharing. BTW I'm enjoying your 2 dvds that I recently ordered. Thanks again
Very nice job....and a fantastic color. 👍🏻
Great job sir!
Excellent job 👍👍
EXCELLENT JOB!!!!!!
Black maybe cool with that bikes color. Gives it a like two tone effect
Well then, on your bike leave it black.😊
Awesome video!!!
Thanks.
Nice work looks like it came from the factory very smart thanks for sharing take care
Thanks 👍
Awesome job Brother, This is what I need to do next summer to my ultra classic. Just can’t figure out a color yet lol!
You’re the man Jerry!👍
Any tips on removing chrome finish on plastic pieces?
I've never tried that.
Progressive sanding start with somewhere around 400 or 500 grit and then move out from there progressively and then paint
There are also some chemicals that can take it off but you’re probably still need some sanding afterwards
Awesome job!
Thanks!
Dang that looks great I can’t imagine how long it would take to do my entire road glide
Great Job Jerry, looks amazing!
Very nice job. I got some good tips.
Damn that looks good!
Thanks for sharing that! Good Stuff Jerry
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful color. I would have to paint those levers.
Just waiting for the Spray Like a Pro DVD to come out. Great job Jezza :)
Looks good! Next video folks "Jerry builds a house with a three car garage to house motorcycles" LOL!
Actually we have 5 garages. 3 on one side and a 2 car on the other side of the house. That's why I wanted this house. The insides ok too but the garages sold me.
@@motorman857 Geez! Oil change time must be an all-day affair at the Palladino residence! LOL
@@kman-mi7su Just checking tire pressure is a 2 hour job.
Pops, that looks damn good. Thanks for the tips!
Looks great!
good stuff! perhaps how you applied to cutting agent, 3 dime-sized dots four dots etc. a very important step seemingly glossed over; show your work motor man! again, really enjoyed the video, will try on mine (probably need a smaller buffer pad as shown)
Nice color
Great job !!!!!
Looks Great, good job!
Thanks!

Many thanks
This looks amazing! I was contemplating getting this paint product and you sold me on it! That shine looks incredible! Was that the only compound/ pad you used to polish?
Gorgeous color - great job 🤙🏻
Thanks! 👍
That looks pretty damn good... I'm getting ready to do my tourpak, did you sand/wet sand before applying the clearcoat?
Nice work, I’m inspired for sure. 👍🏼
Awesome! Thank you!
