I don't even own a motorcycle but I stayed to watch this entire thing. What a great video!
Thanks
The JB weld at the transition point is a great idea! My bike's paint bubbled after I painted it cause gas got underneath. I'm gonna try that.
I like the way you make it a no nonsense approach. Well done.
Looks great. I haven’t tried the jb weld trick. I always tape off my filler, tape off where the cap sits. That way your clear will seal up on the neck and fuel can’t get under it.
Thank you so much for this video. Excellent step-by -step explanation. Like a free painting seminar! 5/5 stars.
The very first step is to get that ring off.
great video mate but throwing in the blaring music is dam painful. twice as loud as when you are speaking
Exactly.
@Hunter Ansorge I don't have any skin in this game, but on the surface, @guy's comment has a lot of likes...yours not so much.
@@independent900 🤣
I agree.
This is exactly what I was looking for, I’m not a professional and it’s for me on my motorcycle and I can’t buy expensive sprayer booth filters and all that pro stuff, by the way your tank came out beautiful thanks for the video
Great video! Inspired me a lot to continue doing paint jobs! Thank you sir!
Hadn't even considered paint transition...great need to know info...always willing to learn something new & being that im just starting out & am highly motivated to excel in the field little tid- bits of info like that are golden! ..so ty...great video👍
Thanks, great video. I recommend everyone to try painting - it`s fun and you will never stop painting. But be aware that you have to try a few times before you get hobby skills. I have spray painted a hole bike with prime, 2-component white and 2-component clearcote - all in spraycans. Worked great but you must sand it and polish it to get that gloss finish. Regards from Sweden /Prez
Do you have links to what you used? Did you buy them at biltema? And would it work on yamaha plastic panels?
Best regards
Hey Clas, Im going to undertake a motorcycle project on my older Ducati within the next couple of weeks with rattle cans, (Ive never painted before). Im going to go with some Rustoleum Custom - Matte Pearl white followed by some SprayMax 2K clear. Question, what differences in application will I encounter between the fiberglass body parts, and the metal gas tank? Thks!
That is a awesome job sir, great work for the DIY novel's
Great job. Thinking about giving my Kawa Nomad a sprucing up!
Thanks I have to paint a tank set and this was a incredible help. Most videos only talk about custom paint. I’m subbed
Nice work dude... Result is amazing
Great DIY paint video, Thanks!! I'll definitely be using this, keep up the great work.
Have been trying to use cheap rattle cans a while, seen this video and no doubt have me plenty confidence, Great video!
Great job i like the finish product
Nice work! I am going to try that job weld trick because I have had paint jobs peel on me around the gas cap.
I'm planning on painting my motorbike soon. Thanks for the great video.
Great video, just wanted to add - I was able to get a very nice finish just by hand polishing.
Very good, to the point video. Thanks!
Young man you did a great job for what you have as a shop. You keep it up and sooner or later you will have that so up and running. "Do what you love and the money will eventually come". Indian Larry.
Thanks means a lot 😎👊

Fantastic job sir thank you 👍
Awesome tutorial, was gonna have someone paint my bike, but I'm doing it myself! Just needed to see it was not that hard.
How did it turn out?
@@John-td5lu Turned out great. I've painted like 12 bikes since then, if you go to my channel and look at "posts" you can see a little KE 100 that I just finished last week. I've built a full paint booth now and have several paint guns and airbrushes as well. I got bit by the painting bug!
Great video, thank you!
Thanks thats great i always wondered how to prep the filler neck so it doesn't peel .
Nice looking paint job man. Do you know how well that paint stands up to gas?
Love the jb weld idea. I’d have so many tank peal right there at the filler neck
Thanks! great video
Wow great job!
Looks good! My paint guns are Cheap. I used a touch up gun for painting Aircraft parts. Great for motorcycles.
Nice one, thanks for video, if i get results like that I will be very happy
good info! thank you
Great job,boss👌👌
Great video - I have a tank from a '77 2-stroke to do so am looking oat how-to's - this gave me some confidence - thanks.
77 is it a Yamaha DT ?
@@amcustomfab Nope - Carabela TS3, Mexican bike :)
Those are cool.
top video friend very helpful
great video man, convinced me to get at least a basic paint gun from harbor and some real paint from summit. gonna give it a shot with my fenders
Really great video, informative and to the point. Just sub'd.
Great job
Ok I may have missed it will watch again. Thanks
Very good tip to seal around gas cap. That has happen to me
Damn that came out nice! Wish you were located close to me in Michigan I want my M109r painted this fall.
just a side note, that gas tank is from a 1980 Yamaha XS 1100 special sg .so crazy i am about to paint the exact same tank using your video instructions,i hope it turns out as nice. thanks for the whats up on this.
Beautiful!
dude great video! thanks!
Thanks for watching
So beautiful
Awesome video thanks bro
Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing.
Damn nice job,I’m thinking of a similar color just a tad darker with a bright metallic.
good vid, i subscribed! how much would that normally cost ( w/o labor of moving the tank off)? also, luv to see a two tone paint vid of fenders/tank?
This was Awesome... Great Video, you really captured my attention being informative...BTW... New Sub...
looks professional to me 🙂
The owner of the tank and side panels may’ve already told you, but I believe that those parts are from an Yamaha XS400, as I have a XS400S with the same tank. Helpful vid!
Nice work brother looks amazing
PHARRAWAY thanks
Good job man ❤💪 what the gun are you used for a base color?
Really nice video, thanks man. I learned something new with the jb. If I had one recommendation, the music was double your voice in volume, made it uncomfortable. But minor details, nice work!
Very nice job.. keep up the good work
Grant 7 Paints & Coatings thank you
3” wireless /battery Polisher is best for small stuff like this. Perfect for it .
I will have to look into one thanks.👍
The JB weld tip is great.
Can't take credit for it some old guy showed me
Very helpful keep growing bro....
Beautiful. I like the pragmatism you bring to the table. What size tips do you use in your guns, and how do you thin the paint for spraying?
I think that gun had a 1.3 mm tip and I thin with whatever brand reducer paint I'm using
Great video. One question, you are putting on all the coats of clear then sanding right? In other words, not putting on a coat of clear between each grit of sandpaper?
yes all coats then sanding. i recommend a minimum of three coats of clear .
Good video! Really helpful. What compressor are you using for that spray gun?
It's a dewalt barely big enough
Building up my knowledge to paint my own scooter!!
Thanks mate.🍻
.... oh, did you get all the fuel put the tank first??
Yes
Nice job budd
Good job
Nice video brother keep up the good work
Do I need some specific compressor for airgun? Or maybe just reductor is must have with airgun
Thanks bro.
Do you let wait anytime between the primer/primers and the top coat and clear coat? I’ve heard that you should let primer sit to “shrink” but also heard to paint after primer within 12 hours
You high af🤣 i like it tbh
Beautifull bro..
Nice paint!! I like it, but don't like the loud music very much. Thanks for the good video. I'm going to give it a try.
Brovo my friend, nice job 👍
Thank you sir.
Great vid! Now that is winter, I'm repainting an old vespa I bought a couple months ago that's in need of some love
Very nice
Would've been nice to get a glimpse of the products you used for primer and 2k primer, clear coat...
