I remember playing this game when I was younger and marvelling at how good it looked for a PS2 game. It makes a lot of sense now to find out you and your talented team were behind it
I see in this version shooting enemies is actually effective, I used to love this game and roleplay the different open portions of levels but the one thing I never liked was that if you shot at the enemies away all they would simply block it no matter what.
I know that was fun seeing a Prototype Hoover Dam level for Autobots campaign The Hoover Dam, Now can you do a prototype Hoover Dam level for Decepticons campaign Megatron, Arise! Please?
If I remember correctly, I believe the outside part of the Hoover Dam was a level in the DS version of the Transformers movie game. Specifically the Autobots version, though I’m not sure if it’s in the Decepticons version as well.
@@ziobarion2262 I remember that. You played as Starscream and you tried to destroy I think the generators around the dam. I remember there being so many enemies shooting you and Starscream walking super slow in that game.
@@edgarmorales9950 To add to what you said, there was also a mission where you play as him but at the bottom of the dam and you have to protect Megatron as he gains power from generators.
@@ziobarion2262 Yeah and the PSP version also had a way better post story level with Cybertron where instead of it being a mission where you just fight a horde of enemies and that's it, it was an actual story chapter involving Starscream and Shockwave fighting over leadership where you could actually fly around a certain area of Cybertron and you fought Shockwave as a boss.
I actually remember wanting this game as a kid cause my friend had it. So my parents got the DS version. And i remember playing it all day and loving it.
It's kind of sad seeing the combat being more varied in the test builds than in the final game. Your guns were pretty worthless, and the only time they would ever be needed was for destruction missions, in combat you weren't allowed to damage anyone excluding the tiniest drone type. This would've been a neat level too, add a little more movie relation to the game and all, though in terms of open world exploration I can understand why it was taken out
Jon, does the chapter 4 exist for Hooverext in this build? It is the Bonecrusher chase as Optimus and it exists in the files of the final game. Also there is a decepticon version of this level, named as Hoover Dam in the level select in the debug options right below Tranquility2.
Anyone else noticed that the Megatron model's head in this boss fight is different than the one in the actual game? It looks like the concept art for the 2007 movie.
Jon, can i pitch a topic please. "Haven: Call of the King" - open space/planet exploration section, planet landing/leaving. Data streaming, memory requirements, all that. And how many people found the special e-mail address in the game?
I think it was a missed opportunity to have an online story mode, where you could play as both auto bots AND decepticons at the same time. Up to 8 player could join the game, with 4 on each team doing specific objectives. It would've been pretty cool honestly, as you could do 4 player mode with friends, or random people.
Oh my ..i'm a" pro player" of transformers The game, And see these things that didnt have been incluided in The game let me like..I WANT MORE, I really love and like this game..The First game of PS2 i have played and im a big fan of The 80's TF animated series too..And one more thing, I WANT TO PLAY WITH BRAWL AND BONECRUSHER AND RATCHET DAMMIT ;-;
7:18 "According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. ... Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible." I just had to when I saw that XD
holy moly you found it I've only heard humors about this level and when people loaded it they found nothing but a black hole of despair how'd you do it Jon?
I have the fantasy that maybe someday Hasbro might renew their partnership with Activision/Travelers Tales and announce an overhauled version of this game with the all the content that was cut.
I think it was done to add a psychological level of immersion to the game in order to make it feel like you were really controlling a big heavy robot that is shaking the ground with each to step to make you feel more powerful as a player. But it was really a bit too much and actually made me think about how my character was of normal size and that the people and buildings were of a smaller scale on top of being a bit sick.
I agree with you but I feel it is more like they missed the mark with it. Your right about what you say with the Camera. It seems to tilt down once the step is made and then pull up after the step but it lacks that firmness that contact has been made. Perhaps it would of worked better if the camera just dipped a bit with each step rather than tilting up and down. Or maybe it is the lack of bounce in the animation itself as its fairly smoothe and doesn't exactly feel bounding. It is more like a slow motion sprint with light impacts if anything. Maybe it would of been better without the bobbing altogether.
i found that when you are in the first open world if you get police then kill them and run away near the edge of the map there is one or to tiny police cars that won't fire at you
Wait, does this mean you worked on the other Transformers games too? Transformers: War for Cybertron was the first shooter game I've ever played, and I still play it today.
Oh man! I heard the game was prototyped and used the 2005 characters instead of the ones used in the final game! Also do you know anything about your version of crash team racing! I have so many questions but those are my only two!

It also has uncapped resolution

Megatron's boss battle in this level is a lot better than the final battle version.
I never finished this game. I actually quite liked the gameplay but from what I remember I think it got too hard at times.
I hope you go through the decepticon version at some point. (Assuming it even had any data at that point in development)
I feel like today the levels would have been re-added as DLC or a day one patch.
That is if TT games ever bother to finish coding in the levels.
