More Every ... Ever coming soon!
A month after I started making the Buzz database, I came across several rare versions of Woody. So I started to search for them simultaneously with Buzz variants to make a database and video for him too.
This video contains 257 different releases, 80% of them are movie-scale dolls.
I didn't include translated or multilanguage boxes since they're basically the same.
As I said in the intro of the video, this list might be incomplete and minor differences are omitted.
Chances are that one day another variant will pop up somewhere that I haven't seen before, so the search goes to infinity and beyond!
Enjoy!
Link to the database: sites.google.c...
There are also many additional pictures of each version (mostly the back of the box).
Feel free to add all this information to toystorymercha... !

6:02 i really dont see people talk about this woody. I think he is one of the most accurate looking woodys and im glad to have him

I remember seeing one of my brother's old classmates holding that one in his hands, and I got so jealous because I was such a big Toy Story fan, but later got my own, but was smaller but I didn't mind that.
4:32
I got this one for my 5th birthday back then (my dad bought it for me, along with a Buzz Lightyear), unfortunately that Woody got stolen at school and was never found, so my dad bought me another pull-string version from Toy Story 2.

I’m pretty sure that 20:01 is the one I have but I think it’s in my shed
17:07 (talking action figure TS3)
That's the one I still own today. I got it 11 years ago as a "good job gift" from my parents. I picked it out from the store and later during the week, I came into my room to see Woody sitting in my chair with a written letter "from him". I remember being so happy parading around the house with him. Today, he's seen better days. His vest has a crease on the left side, the paint started chipping on the spurs and there is a mark on his hair. His head also came loose, but I was able to glue it back together. Woody is the oldest toy I currently own, and one I'll save for when I have kids of my own ☺️
Did it had a wired battery compartment?
I noticed that 2009 cloud version had that

Cool, im getting this one 18:40 or the version 2 for christmas.
I also have Woody from Thinkway, but I don't know which one from this video, because I got him without box. One thing I know is, he will laugh if you pull the string while hold his body
That is probably the Lots 'O Laughs Woody (23:03).
thank you again! Lastly I will ask about Jessie, but I havent put her battery because its kinda rare battery.
Wow! I loved the video on all the Buzz Lightyear toys that you made, so I’m glad to see you did one for the good old Sheriff! Once again, this gives me a lot of nostalgia, and introduced me to a bunch of Woody dolls I had no idea even existed!

2:13 SO MUCH NOSTALGIA I love that music because it was from a game I had
On my PS1
All Woody dolls are voiced by Jim Hanks, Tom Hanks' brother.
True!
No the 2019 Disney store woody has Tom hanks phrases
Me, pretending to know the difference between "collection vest" and "standard vest": *Mmm, yes, very interesting.*
The easiest way to see the differences is the vest border. You can see that the standard vest has a flat border (with the stitching line on the border) whereas the collection vest has a "coiled" border (with the stitching lines next to the border). There's also another vest that looks like the collection vest, but smaller and instead of the black lines going to the upper left, they go to the upper right. These vests are only rarely used on standard Woody's like 16:38, 16:45 and 21:18.
Wow just wow, this video was interesting it showed most of the Woody dolls that were ever made, this is such nostalgia I still have my childhood Woody doll I had since I was a little girl, he isn't in good condition but I still love him very much

Thanks! That song plays in Andy’s room in the Toy Story 2 video game. Very nostalgic for people who played this game🙂
20:01 is my first woody doll and my only woody doll
When I was younger I ripped his head off several times…
So it had to be glued back on, and the voice box is broken along with some marks and missing paint
Lucky bastard!
2:09 woody has swapped hands! 0-0
I have one non-talking Woody doll (the 1995-2000 Thinkway era, I believe) that is 12 inches, and he has plastic hands. I'm not sure what kind of variant he could be. I found him at a thrift store without his hat and vest, so I don't have any clues there, either.
You're probably referring to the Talking Action Figure (small size) at 4:30, cloud version or TS2 version.
As far as I know there's only one difference between these, namely the badge. But since the vest is lost it may be impossible to tell.
i have the signature one & hes awesome! i got him on may 18 2014 at toys r us. i got him with me right now & i promised him i’ll always love him & take care of him no matter how old i am!!! i didnt care if i was 19 & still dont if im almost 27!!! i really hope toys r us still opens back up like they were gonna b4 stupid damn covid. i still love it & toys

@JLightyear2000 i had mine for years and doubt the labels on it will be visible I have to double check it the best I can provide are photos and it a small doll
What annoys me is that the modern woodys you can pick up from stores just print the details on...or skip details that the older ones had.
My favorite Woody dolls are 13:05 Hasbro, Pull String, Adventures in Andy's Room and 30:16 Disney Store, Talking (new version), Woody's Roundup Toy Detector Version
29:13 I don't know if it's rare or not but I had it since I was only a little boy! I don't know if you are a expert with these but I'm dying to know!
21:07 I think I had two but only have one now 😢
I have made an interesting discovery, I have two 1st edition poseable Woody dolls from probably early 1996 red thinkway logo for the one I received in a box . I was surprised to find that both dolls do not have the wiring in the legs, only the arms. Later iterations I have of the poseable model have the wiring in both the arms and the legs. I wonder if this was because of these dolls being so in demand they did shortcuts and didn't include the wiring in the legs of very first makes to get them out to the shops?
In addition, the 1st edition dolls are a good 1.5cm taller than the ones with wiring in the legs/non-poseable later editions
@@elizabethedney1980 Very interesting! I've never heard that before. It could be just a factory variation. I don't think they were released earlier or later than the normal poseable ones, but it must be a rare variant!
Finally in 2009 thinkway toys started making a doll that actually looks like the one in the movie
Hi again 🙂
Sorry to bother you with another question, l was just wondering, does any of the first addition poseable pull string Woodys have no spurs? I have a few that are loose and one has the poseable arms and legs but is spurless, weird? Lol
As far as I can remember, all poseable pull-string Woodys have spurs. But the spurs are separate pieces that are glued on the boots. So it is possible that they came loose. But I’m not 100% sure about this.

I'm working on that one too :)
I do have the thinkway toys talking action figure 25th anniversary deluxe pull-string version. It’s pretty old.
Can someone help me figure out which one of these is my childhood Woody and Buzz? I'd really like to re-obtain both my Woody and Buzz, but its gonna be near impossible for me to figure out which ones are mine. Especially Buzz, since those toys have remained pretty consistent with their designs over the years. I can vividly remember the sound of his laser and that one of his voice lines was "Take cover!", but that would only help if I saw the toy in person and was able to test it out. As for Woody, though... something rather odd about my specific version was that his pull string wasn't actually... well, pull-able. The string hoop was back there, but it was just for show. To make him talk, you had to squeeze him. I was born in 1996, so my Woody and Buzz are definitely from the Toy Story/Toy Story 2 era. I don't remember if they came in the same box or not, but they definitely didn't have interactive voice lines with one another, if that helps to know. If anyone out there can help me pinpoint which Woody and Buzz are the ones from my childhood, I will be eternally grateful!
Your Woody doll might be the Tumblin' Talkin' Woody from Mattel (6:42), but it could also be Talkin' Tude Woody (6:50) or Twice the Talkin' Woody (0:57). For your Buzz, I answered your comment in the Every Buzz video.
@@JLightyear2000 I had a feeling it might've been one of the Talkin' Woody's! I wasn't 100% sure if mine had that big, removable badge, but the more I look at it, the more it just seems so familiar to me! I looked up a video of the Talkin' Tude and Twice the Talkin' Woody's to see if one of them would have the voice lines I remember, and there's no mistaking it! Twice the Talkin' Woody IS my Woody! Oddly enough, I never knew his phrases changed depending on which way the badge was placed. But there's not a doubt in my mind. It was very poetic, as soon as I heard him say "I'm your toy!" I knew it was him! Thank you so much for helping me out with this! I'll be sure to let you know if I ever track him down! Any advice on where I can easily find him/how much you think he goes for, these days?
@@MidniteAndBeyond Glad to be of service! I suggest start looking on local second hand websites. Don't search for "Twice The Talkin' Woody", "Mattel Talking Woody" is better, because a lot of people on local sites don't know the name of what they sell. If you don't find him there, eBay will probably have it. It's not a very rare Woody. I'm not sure about the price, maybe between $20-60? But that also depends on the condition.
@@JLightyear2000 I'm happy to report that my search was successful. There was ONE "Twice the Talkin'" Woody on eBay and it was still in the box. It was $35, which is a little cheaper than buying a brand new Woody at Disney. Of course the batteries were long expired, so I had to get those replaced. It was actually harder finding batteries for Woody than it was to find Woody, himself! I finally got them in and and he's fully functional, once again. I suppose I could've just kept him and Buzz in the box, but when looking through all these videos of people's Woody and Buzz collections, it was always heartwarming to hear people refer to their imperfect or damaged toys as "very loved". So I feel like its only right if I set them both free. It may not be the highest quality toy, or even the highest quality Woody. But as one of his lines states, "I'm your toy." He truly is. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you so much for helping me find him again! This is such an amazing project you've put together and I'm sure you've made a lot of people happy!
Hi can you please tell what year these 2 specific woody dolls are From 17:07 and 18:31 I’d really appreciate it.
The first one has the TS3 package design, so that one is most likely from 2010. The other one was released in 2015.
So was the woody at 18:31 without the 20th anniversary and confetti on the box, do you think it could have been released to buy like late 2013 Then in 2015 they just put 20th anniversary on the on the same box? Cuz I think I have this woody, without the 20th anniversary on the box and has the closer together buttons and slit curved badge, but I got it at late 2013. So basically could’ve the woody without the 20th anniversary on the box been available to buy late 2013 then in 2015 just add the 20th anniversary to the same box? Trying to figure out which one I have it matches this one but just got it in late 2013
@@JLightyear2000 I have another question I sent.
@@IronBenny I can't remember finding a source of when exactly the white-red boxes where first released. I'm not sure if those were already released in 2013, but it is possible. One thing to note is that Mattel uses the same packaging designs and their boxes often contain a copyright year. Mattels Action Armor Buzz uses the same white-red package design, without the 20th anniversary confetti and the box mentions 2014.
@@JLightyear2000 ok let me know if you ever find anything about the red white box without 20th and confetti, coming out sooner than 2015. my woody is a for sure a Thinkway is says it on tag, head, boots. Hey if i can ask what is thw differnce of lots o laugh woody and the 20th anniversary it had same face
Some people in the comments pointed out that the laughing 20th anniversary one is an unofficial release, since these only appear on websites like AliExpress. But the fact these look almost identical to the official release makes me think that they were produced in the same factory. There are no big differences between the two, but it is possible that the unofficial one is worse in overall quality.
Hey everyone! So basically I purchased two 1995 Woody's sealed burger king toy 12 inch I was shocked! These were my childhood pals so after I checked the battery's and brought them back to life, the two Woody's have a different accent!!!!!? One is a close to Tom Hanks accent, but the other is some random voice, but did anyone else ever realize this!?!?!
Could it be that the random voice is a heavier version of the original? The pitch of such voice chips may vary from copy to copy. The lower pitched voices are also slower. It's a common variation in Thinkway Woody's.
