- Just like the previous elections in Pakistan, the candidates who represent progressive parties and agendas and the candidates who hail from the parties of the left wing or from the nationalist backgrounds, lost all over the country. As the country demands the government of their choice, basing it on the number of seats won by PTI, the debate whether the nation has voted rationally is hardly seen on the mainstream.
This video is a criticism on the general trends in voting in Pakistan over the years and the reasons people find important in choosing their respective candidates. The video explains through philosophical perspective as to why an examined and rational thinking is required to solidify democracy in a country. History has proven that nations who vote on the basis of sheer emotion land themselves in trouble they cannot recover from.

I came to the comments section to comment here the same kind of thing you just said. I noticed that the Muzzamil was opposing the electoral democracy in his entire video but at the end he conclude that the voters must vote on the rational basis rather than amusive basis. This whole idea is contradictory. My believe is that if a person is not perfect to be elected but he is a good amuser, let the people decide to vote him freely. And after time the people will be able to vote rationally. Then the elected person might still an amuser but talented too.
This guy is full of contradiction and confusion. What is free speech: to speak up ur mind. What's a fair election, where people could choose who they deem best. Who are u to question their rationality. Don't ever trust this guy. He is wrong number from the start.
Good points, but I think he is trying to make the point that we need to avoid turning a democracy into mere populism. The masses must be criticized since they are the ones who will dictate the course of your future. Just because it is the will of the masses does not mean we need to be reconciled to it. He seems to be going against rallying behind ideologies blindly.

Biased against IK is so engrained in his subconscious, that his conscious is severely hindered to detect its traces. Looking from this lens he fails to even acknowledge people right of expression. Advancement of such thoughts eventually makes him an "intellectual" dictator.

He never mentions the sstate of Sindh, he never mentions the money laundering trails and calls to LHC Chief Justice and attacks on the High Courts by PMLN and on the journalists as approved by the Amir Ul Momenine Nawaz Sharif . The fakeness of criticism is OBVIOUS.

I completely get where you're coming from in the video about how people sometimes vote without really knowing who they're voting for, and how that can accidentally bring the wrong kind of leaders into power. But I've got to say, there's more to the story, especially from where I'm standing here in KPK.
You see, around here, it felt like the ANP had a good chunk of support, maybe around 20 to 30% of the seats, at least that's the vibe I got. And then there's Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar. In their areas, it just makes sense for people to back them. The folks in Waziristan, they know the score. They see these two as the only ones really standing up for them against some pretty heavy odds, like the Establishment and the Taliban.
But then, everything goes sideways. How do these guys lose? It's like the whole system's playing a game we're not clued into. Take Mohsin Dawar, for example. The guy was literally shot at by the police when he was just trying to find out what was happening with the vote count in his area. Next thing you know, while he's still in the hospital, they announce the other guy from JUI(F) as the winner. It's like the whole thing was set up from the start.
And it's not just a one-off. It feels like there's this pattern, especially in places like KPK and Balochistan, where anyone who might speak up for the Pashtuns or stand against the Taliban and the powers that be just gets pushed out. PTI's got KPK locked down, but it's not like they're going to challenge the Taliban, which just leaves the door open for things to go back to how they were. And somehow, the Establishment ends up getting paid off by outside interests for letting it all happen.
It's not that PTI didn't win a lot of seats, but the way they've been set up in KPK again, it just feels off. If the Establishment really had it in for PTI, why let them sweep KPK like that, with most of the NA and Provincial seats, and then have them lose almost everywhere else? The numbers just don't add up.
So yeah, it feels like we're all just pawns in this big game, and us Pashtuns, along with other minorities, are going to end up paying the price, yet again. Just watch, it's all going to play out just like it always does.

This has been on my mind for such a long time, though I have nevwr been able to articulate it. Having voted twice in my life for candidates that actually did some good and showed potential, yet lost to some nobody with a populist symbol next to their name, I have lost all hope for democracy in this country. It might as well be a fan club.

Remember, Imran Khan introduced EVM [Electronic Voting Machine] to evade corruption in Election. And as far matter of EVM machine hacking, might you remember, the EVM manufactures challenged the Hackers from whole Pakistan with the award money of 2.5 million PKR for one year, but no one could Hack it. And whilst using this machine, more than 130 ways of corruption in Election can be eradicated. Why all the so-called democratic party [particularly PDM allies] contended or combated it badly and didn’t let the law of EVM pass by Parliament? It could have been solved with the mutual and greater interests of democracy but unfortunately, Pakistan is ruled by mafias, crooks, corrupt businessmen turned politicians like Zardari and Nawaz, Maulana and many more.
And Establishment would never support it, as it is one of their “Biggest Tool” to play. How they would have supported it.

If you don’t know, I can tell you, they formed it at the basis of only IMF conditionalities. For example: They added the inflation rate will be in “one digit” in 2025. You just go and check the IMF, World Bank, Moody’s, The Economist, Bloomberg and all the top Economic institutes, it is clearly mentioned the inflation rate of Pakistan with this pace will be in “one digit” only. It means either PMLN is there or not, Pakistan inflation rate will be in “one digit” in 2025. See, how did they play with the words. And they put the same Economic factors as IMF and other institutes predicted and later on, they will claim --- Oh, See, we have save country from being “Default.” Simply “Bullshit and Gibberish” it was! Pakistan was never been at the verge of Bank Default in Imran Khan period. This claim was simply bullshit, as Pakistan have 22.93 billion US$ in foreign reserves, 32 billion US$ export, 36 billion US$ overseas remittances with inflation rate of 12%. How the country could be default with such progressive budget?
And as far matter of progression. It depends, how do you define it? Is it Human Development and Structural Institutional Development and Reforms. Rather, some other define it with Road, Bridges, Underpasses constructions, laptop distributions. Rather Imran Khan talks about construction of worldclass Universities where the students will get world class education, and after getting high class education and good job, they can buy this Laptop with their first salary.

Even if we choose someone based on their ideology and manifesto, it won't change anything if that person isn't allowed to be chosen by the higher-ups. Therefore, instead of discussing about choosing the right person, we should focus on ensuring that whoever the nation chooses is given the chance, regardless of the approval from the higher-ups.

Syed Muzammil, although part of the mainstream media, has a unique approach compared to run-of-the-mill reporters and anchors. Today's blog is a marvelous commentary on the events in Pakistan concerning the recently completed elections and current debates on their aftermath.
Democracy has not taken root in Pakistan yet, and it can hardly be assessed to be at level 2 or 3 on a scale of 10. This may be disheartening for some and make them apprehensive about the future. However, this vote was primarily against the military, indicating a deep desire to remove them from politics. Imran Khan was seen as a savior by those who hold this view.
The fruits of democracy take time to ripen; the ground must be prepared and the tree roots must go deep to find the necessary nutrients. Gandapur, Sher Afzal Marbat, and other similar politicians are like unripened fruits; they will fall, decay, and eventually turn into fertilizers for future crops. National and provincial assembly elections are meaningless unless they are supported by a strong elected base of local governments at the village, town, and ward or city levels. Decentralization of financial decision-making, a strong educated mass, and entrepreneurs at various levels are also required for democracy to thrive.
The mandate has been robbed, and neither the elite nor the people can be condemned or criticized. The question remains if people are making the right choices. The ANP has been routed, Jibran Nasir have lost.
