Most accurate take on Bajwa legacy, the fact that Muzamil acknowledges that institution drives individuals in pakistan not the other way around had me, I have seen pakistanis saying that "you shouldn't criticise the institution but can condemn the individual", those who had read Ayesha Siddiqa's book Military Inc would know that this approach is wrong
its a vicious cycle. the ideology of islam, is responsible for creation of pakistan state and army. people follow it and those people get into army and institutions.
islam has become anti hindu and anti india in pakistan and this was promoted by all generals to consolidate their power.
now if suddenly any general wants to become secular, not because he believes in secularism, but economic and geostrategy demands it, the public and even army personal will never allow it.
then back to islam or pakistani flavour of islam and more power to army and to hell with secularism.
Honestly I respect mr Bajwa,he never used bad language or loose words. We may be enemies but it feels Better if we deal with decency. Thanks muzammil for your high quality journalism
