I was gonna stay on the indie version, but since X-nurbs got announced, and demonstrated, i realised its definately something i need to take a look at.
@@TheGuardianofAzarath you just don't get any updates. So after your year is up, if there's bugs or issues, or new features you have to buy it again....
I’ve been using Rhino for years and bought the XNURBS plugin for it and thought it was a great compliment. Plasticity combined with XNURBS will be a game changer as far as patch topology is concerned. It’s not Alias, but the Plasticity/XNURBS combo is a great $$$ alternative for organic modeling.
love your excitement. What is the difference between the $149 and the 299 package? They look identical except a few exports which I don't need and I only need 2 machines unlocked.
You have XNurbs and other more professional surfacing tools in Studio (like the new "Square" tool), probably there will be more. Also you have access to Beta, which usually means you get new features in advance. That said, Indie is perfect if you don't do high level surfacing stuff.
@@PorscheMonster There is a statement on the website saying if you want to upgrade.... It implies that this is only available for Indie users if the do the upgrade in the first month after they buy the Indie version. This seems to be a very strange way of upgrading and I don't know of another company that places this restriction on upgrades - never heard of such a thing.
sure impressive, but this is soon starting to go to regular corporate cad prices, its going to become a mini autodesk. all the "values" and promises go out the window when money gets involved you know
I see the prices as fair. The annual updates take a lot of work and include a lot of new content. Let's remember that the rest of the software has monthly licenses and at exorbitant prices.
I bought Indie and have many problems with simple basic stuff (for example flip model in the same place), no SVG import, even problem with importing simple STLs. Rather not going to buy again, because only Studio license has NURBS.
Just a quick tip re flipping object: select the object to flip, hit S for scale then type - 1 (i.e., minus one) in whatever axis you need the object to be flipped in.
Hi! Great simple and quick video. I was amazed with these tools and especially with Plasticity. Question: Would you recommend me to start using Plasticity instead of Sketchup? The purpose is to work with boat design (organic curve hauls) Thanks in advance, any comments or additional advice will be highly appreciated.
Nikita, this still blows me away to this day! I been follow all your tutorials. My birthday is coming up in May. I know now just what to tell her to gift me! 😁
just upgraded to the studio and loaded some of the models i ve been stuck on. ps5 controller to be exact lol. and xnurbs just took care of it in a breeze. absolutely insane. worth it
Definitely not and probably never will be as there are already severe restrictions on what the program can do and how it operates with other file types.

Hard to justify paying that amount every year just for xnurbs tbh.

Wait what? It's a subscription? I thought plasticity was nonsubscription.

If I only do 3D printing for FDM prints do you think Studio is still something to aim for or is indie fine
Hi Nikita, your enthusiasm is so fun and inspiring. Looks like this tool is almost not fair that it is that good 😊

Seems like rhino 20 years ago. Not that it’s a bad thing.
Love your enthusiasm, man. Hope xNURBS gets added to the indie license too.
No upgrade available from Plasticity Indie to Studio?
Yes… it was recently announced on Discord

The xNurbs is for more expensive cars Nikita! 😛

Holy mother of lord! I bought plasticity because of this video. Unbelievable...

I am not the creator of Plasticity but would love to see SubD implemented to Plasticity
