      They pushed SO, SO hard to make NFT's appear like a credible and viable thing, but as soon as people cashed out, it lost all the value it had, because it never had any to begin with, there's no utility, it's not a currency/service like crypto, it's been a long time since I even heard people talking about NFTs, that was just a scam people pushed at the expense of crypto, because crypto was good and viable, they tried to make NFT valuable, it never was...

      not to mention wtf can you really buy with digital currencies 9/10 times your not gonna be able to freely trade it with most people atleast for now. your not gonna go up to your average person and trade them digital currency for a product in hand.
      most people lose money in these markets so few can win big most are set up that way its the digital version of auction house scams look at the pokemon markets the video game markets art markets they are all the same whales sell there own shit back and forth to each other bring market values up all the whie they have invested early soon as it reaches a high point they pull out and let the markets dwindle back down to what they ought to be then they start all over and do it again and again some people can get in and out and make a lil profit but just remember money never disappears it only trades hands. watch the markets you can notice the trends where the whales control the flow sometimes you can catch some draft and tag along just never stay in too long get in and get out just like in vegas.

    The sad part is everyone in South Park will never know that Cartman sacrificed his happy life for everyone else. Matt and Trey also basically say the reason Cartman ends up that way is cause of South Park itself. He moved away and went on to have a happy life, he stayed and became a homeless alcoholic. I just couldn't see Cartman becoming homeless and an alcoholic. He's incredibly determined and always scheming something up I just can't see him ending up like that. Again it's sad that everyone will never know the sacrifice he made for everyone else to be happy.

    • @angief6364

      It is sad, but it is also common sense. Like Parker and Stone said, if Cartman stays in South Park, he will remain as an extremely toxic individual. And it can be unconscious, but he will look to antagonise both Stan and Kyle, specially Kyle, specially if they are still friends.
      Why does he have a unconscious need to remain in South Park?, possibly because of the 4 boys' friendship.
      The funniest thing is that Kenny is and won't be very affected if their friendship breaks apart or not. Even though he seems like a follower, he is the most independent one.

    • @Cardb33

      @@angief6364 I mean I understand why they gave him that ending, to be polarizing and make everyone feel sorry for a character that "had it coming" for all the bad stuff he did. The curve ball is that we the audience know he redeemed himself and saved everyone in South Park but they will never know the sacrifice Cartman made. The most selfish self centered character in the show made the most selfless sacrifice. I like that Matt and Trey basically said it was South Park itself that kept Cartman on a bad path, like it was a curse. I just don't see Cartman rolling over and accepting a life as a homeless drunk. He's incredibly devious, resourceful and determined it's not very likely he'd end up as a bum.

That doesn't mean he's not capable of making it in life, the same way some people just aren't built for the 9-5 punch in punch out life. There are people out there that aren't lazy that are unable to work a regular job. Tons of reasons for it too, stimulation/concentration issues, being not good at working with others, some people are just made to do their own thing. I had issues when I was younger with authority and taking orders, didn't mean I was lazy I just didn't like being told what to do, when to do it, how to do it or feeling like I was being talked down to. I've grown since then and am in a Union making great money and work with good guys so it all worked out. Cartman absolutely would succeed as an adult due to his sheer focus and determination when he wants something. Dozens of episodes where he goes to absurd lengths to get his way. I remember once, during grand rounds, a student was discussing the case of an elderly diabetic patient with a non-healing wound, and she offhandedly mention what a nice old man he was and how incomprehensible it was that he used to be a hitman for the mob. She said "It's hard to believe that he used to be a killer," and one of the other students said "He still IS a killer! The people he killed haven't come back to life!" Some would argue that even though Cartman became a much better person, he never made restitution to the victims of all the malicious, intentional harm he had caused throughout his life until he gave up the great comfortable life he had to to give others great lives thus making up for the many, many times he had deliberately been a cause cause of pain and suffering to other.

  • @adamplace1414
    @adamplace1414 8 місяців тому +3

    I think the thing about the ending that made it the most heart wrenching was his voice. It was just SO vitriolic and pained that it pushed the scene from comedic to bordering on tragic. The only times I remember Cartman sounding that angry were on the rare occasions when his mom disciplined him.
    But yes, I think they could have played that same ending more humorously, and it would have worked well. I probably would have even liked it better. But as it was, it made an impact, emotionally as well as culturally - people were certainly discussing it plenty after it aired.
    Also - Cartman DID do all the bad shit Kyle mentioned and more (he went for Halloween as a certain German chancellor, then tried to emulate him to please Mel Gibson). If anyone deserves an awful life, it might be him.

    I remember, in either late February or early March, being in a bar for a Meetup short-story group I’d been attending for a few years. That was the first time it was enough of a news story coming out of China that it was worth us talking about it. I have the image of them spraying down the streets in full gear and thinking it was going to be a blip on the other side of the world. No such luck.
    Even as it was all happening and people were joking about “the before times,” that felt a little dramatic. But, in retrospect, it really is a stark pre/post and changed all of us, for better or worse.

    What makes this special so memorable is that through it all, it shows in the South Park universe that the life of Eric is a factor on how everyone else will be in the future. In my honest opinion, Eric doesn’t deserve to have a happy ending. Of all the stuff he’s done, they people he’s hurt, and societies he’s brought down, i honestly don’t think he deserves a good ending but with this special, it’s hard to keep that mindset for him to always see his downfall sometimes.

      It is amazing how they wrote the show that some how Cartman life can be so impactful vs rest of South Park. Its this weird karma of show balancing itself out. Yet is very poetic that Cartman in the very few and right scenarios could be a decent human being. I do agree he doesn't deserve happiness and the great irony and love of his family came from them hating Kyle as much as he did.
