The fight between mr.hat and mr. Mackey always makes me laugh
I'm gonna kick your ass, m'kay?
I'm gonna kick your ass, m'kay!!
Mr. Mackey lost in a fight to a hand puppet🤔
@@MasterOfViewershipan *empty* hand puppet.
One of the most under appreciated South Park Episodes ever! This episode is so forgotten about and I don’t understand why
Season 5! . Also my favorite season all time
probably because it's so old at this point, lots of great episodes take up people's memory
im with you though, this one is top 10 imo. so many scenes make me laugh out loud
On the dvd commentary for this episode, Matt and Trey said that when they met Danny DeVito he told them this was his favorite episode because of how f*cked up it is! 😂
Season 3 is a big step-up from the first two seasons, but I feel they found their voice in Season 4.
Agreed that they found their voice around Season 4, and it seems like they found their stride by Season 5
Season 1 is way better than 3
Absolutely not but they hit their stride with season 5
Season 17 the start of less funny
@@jesus_01_12 I don't agree with you, but humour is subjective, so we're both right.
I love the fact you go back and fourth with classic South Park and recent. Recommend season 7 episode 1 cancelled and season 18 episode 5 the magic bush
Cancelled is a tremendous episode. I love chef and the fake Jeff Goldblum in the one
Never noticed this before, but at 14:04 you can see Stan and Kyle behind them despite them running towards the stage. Two mishaps in one episode 😮
I was about to comment the same thing, but didn't have to scroll far to find your comment. I had never noticed before. What was the other mishap you noticed? Edit: nevermind, just got to it at the end of the episode.
ohhh good eye.
The last episodes of season 3 “Are you there God? It’s me, Jesus” and this one, are incredibly silly and hilarious because Matt and Trey were so tired and burned out from finishing the South Park movie in the last year! They just wanted to finish the season and go on vacation, so they threw the most wacky and disgusting ideas together! 🤣
Thank you for showing us all the references the show uses. You are the best reactor. You need more followers! I’m sure in time, you will get the recognition you deserve.
I admit when I first watched this episode I was in utter confusion when Dad Garrison did the thing he said he was never ever going to do to his son. Then to have the plot twist that he hired Kenny G was the best thing ever 😂 (Although I truly wonder what Kenny G thought of this episode 😅)
Him and Yoko, but if they had any thoughts about the episode they must have kept it to themselves. Because I really don't remember hearing anything from either of them at the time 🤔.
Which is really one of two ways to take it for celebrities. Either take the South Park roast with grace & a sense of humor or not say anything at all lol 😂. And then you have celebrities like Tom Cruise who threaten to sue them instead 🤣.
6:48 Hmong- 1.
a member of a people living traditionally in isolated mountain villages throughout Southeast Asia.
Season 3 embodied, I think, everything that became great about SP. Besides the noticeable animation improvement, the dialogue felt snappier.
All telltale signs from the movie's success: bigger budget available, more script-writing and storyboarding capabilities to develop in less time.
In retrospect I find the movie cringey as hell compared to seasons 4 and onward
I feel that Season 3 was where they hit their stride. I’m not saying it was their best season, but it’s when they started to figure out what works best.
The neat thing is that they were a huge hit starting at season 1.
GOAT reaction channel i've came across yet. The reactions are very transformative, you make sure to catch all references in editing to the best of your ability, it stands out. Keep going bro.
This episode is demented. The funniest part might be Garrison’s mother.
I heard Kenny G reference this episode on the Dan Lebatard Show. He said it was really funny but it didn’t do much to help his popularity with the ladies lol.
He also said don’t make him mad or he’ll play the brown noise and make you crap your pants!
I started marathoning South Park from the beginning last year and noticed that they really started to find their voice around Seasons 4 - 6.
The movie was released around Season 3 and that's when when they learned how to write better stories. Before the movie, they were just kind of winging it.
"This is a serious topic, but Mr. Garrison's an idiot."
I think you just summed up all of South Park.
Karen Carpenter indeed was anorexic and died due to complications. I didn't realize how entertaining this episode was until you revisited it. The B plotline with Mr. Garrison is hilarious.
Another episode I wanna recommend that I haven't yet mentioned is Bass to Mouth.
Somewhere around the 4th season they stopped having co-writers, they started using digital software that spedup their development time and the previous voice actress, who was associate with the earlier seasons, died so they brought in new voices that are associated with modern South Park. This is why Wendy's voice sounds more squeaky in the early seasons and less so later on.
Season 4 or 5 is when they really got their system down. That being said, these early ones will ALWAYS have a dear space in my heart. They have some of my all time favorite episodes, hands down. I could watch them just like I did this one with you and not get bored at all, even though I've seen it probably a dozen times by now.
I used to work at a call center and would talk with people from the south. The rudest people to talk to always seemed to be from Arkansas. Other people from the south seem to point out not liking Arkansas and is known for having a bunch of incest. I even spoke to a guy who was married to his cousin
I just from that state after living there for 8 years it was weird I had one coworker that divorced his wife to marry his wife's mother
Sure bud. Glad to see that old trope is still alive and well.
@@cyanmage1 not incest but ok
And the one guy that didn't marry his cousin from there married...Hillary Clinton.
This was the first episode I saw of South Park, I laughed so hard, I never stopped watching ever since
Mr. Mackey: "Is there a history of sexual abuse in your family?"
Mr. Garrison: "Some, yes. There was my Uncle, Richard."
Mr. Mackey: "When was that?"
Mr. Garrison: "Saturday, last Saturday. He's a paraplegic but..."
he got the final line reference, it wasn't just a Peter Pan reference, it was a Star Trek 6 reference (which referenced Peter Pan) as exampled by both being the final line and the warp flash at the end.
Really enjoy all the context you give to jokes in your reactions, some of which i had no idea about. Best South Park reactor!
I love when Dash exclaims how dumb a joke is but still laughs.
Perfect summary of South Park.
I quickly clicked for your reaction Dash!
0:10 Ayeee I made the cut. Thanks for the shout out Dash! Love your videos. Keep it up!
This premise is great because there is a point in every American’s life where they had to learn to play the recorder in school (for some reason).
There is also a point where every American child hears about the “brown noise” from one of their friends.
Not just the US, every kid in Australia learns how to play "Three Blind Mice" on the recorder at school.
@@isaacfrost9250 Really? I always assumed you Aussies learned the Didgeridoo in elementary school instead
@@lao5610dude, that shit's expensive, we'd have to share 1 and wash spit off every time.
@lao5610 no way, those things aren't cheap, and it takes ages to learn how to play one, the circular breathing technique is really tough.
I only ever heard of "the brown note" from South Park.
But yeah, at some point in elementary school a year or two before kids got the chance to enroll in band or orchestra there was a mandatory music class for everybody where we played the recorder. Just a simple / cheap introductory instrument to start finding the kids that might be interested in further music classes, I guess. Doesn't use reeds like a clarinet or saxophone, doesn't require learning how to purse your lips in just the right way like a flute or trumpet, doesn't need to be (or rather it can't be) tuned, doesn't have any moving parts to break, comes out of the case in one whole piece instead of needing to attach a neck / mouthpiece or whatever else to it. It's pick up and play. It teaches the kids a bit about rhythm and melody and how to read sheet music, and maybe it sparks some interest for some of them.
I would say season 4 or 5 is when they really started to nail it. Every season is great. Some are better than others and have their ups and downs depending on who you are of course. I love every south park episode personally.
"Every season is great."
Nah. Season one's pretty weak.
agree with grabble season 1 of south park is just so weak
Oh man... I couldn't remember what episode this was, then Mr Garrison freaked out about Arkansas and it was like a core memory flooding back. I can't wait for this one. :-)
I'd love to see you do "Rainforest Shmainforest" season 3 episode 1, Jennifer Aniston voiced a character in it.
I agree with a lot of the other comments that season 4 and 5 they started to push the boundaries and become really clever with multi layered meanings behind episodes. You can see the germination of it here, those stories where you think it's going to be one thing but then they misdirect you, although in this episode it's clearly very ham fisted. I think in later episodes they did a better job of finding nuances to pursue.
As usual your editing adds so much context, and I love your flashbacks to other episodes.
Thanks, Dash!
You know I got to give you props for finding all these references, I thought I caught alot but you are way above me.
I think season 7-8 is when SP has started to feel like it does today
Dash just watch the whole South park show from beginning to end. What are we even doing at this point? 😂
Season 4 or 5 is when they finally put it all together. They said season 4 was a game-changing point for them
watching anime and reading manga is so exhilarating
tru
You have outdone yourself with the add-ins Dash. I look forward to your next one.
hey dash been watching for a year love the content! missed a couple monthes but i get to binge watch now! keep it up
Another classic. Glad you reacted to it. :)
That teacher that uses the microphone, i hate those kind of teachers, the ones that would still yell after everyone is quiet.
I argue season 7 was the best representation of everything >where they started, where they were then and where they wanted to go in the future. 👍❤👍
Yea I feel like season 7-18 was the golden age of the show which is every rare for a long running show ro have a golden age last for that many seasons. Than 20-23 where the weakest seasons but they wasn't bad they where mainly experimenting and trying to things than 24-26 is the Renaissance
@@jeremybottoms7619
Uh, no. The weakest season is 2 - quantity over quality.
Love your reaction vids. It almost feels like watching it all over again for the 1st time
This is one of those episodes I forgot about, but whenever it comes on it’s always so funny! Love the video tho dash!
That was great reaction! Next try the episode “A ladder to heaven” S06 E12 when I was a kid I had that on my phone and secretly watching it over and over again because my parents didn’t allow me to watch South Park😂😂
The Brown Note actually does work, but it sometimes may have a delayed reaction for some.
We need season 3 episode 16 "Are you there god?"
Please 🙏
Butters episode was the moment they got things in order to what south park is today. plus the losing edge was the final step cause it made randy a main character not just a random towns character.
The scene where mr mackey is fighting mr hat is so stupid but so funny 😂😂
In my humble opinion anybody who says South Park was only good in the first few seasons is an absolute degenerate liar because the earliest seasons truly have some of the least funny episodes of TV I have ever seen 😂. But I think anything past season 5-6 is the most hilarious genius shit ever written
It's always a good day when dash uploads a south park reaction! And for the record, you're the only reaction channel I'm subscribed to.

Dude I was gonna recommend this episode the next time you reacted to south park! Man this is a treat!
“Saturday …last Saturday” like dawg
"Y'know it's funny, you kiss just like my dad.." haha. I know it's not a good subject matter but that is freaking funny.
You're reactions are great Dash Reacts!
There is actually a Brown Note. I heard about it on the radio just this week, a discussion. They dont make a lot up, they pull it out of reality.
16:22 I'd say that they really found their voice in Season 4. But, 6-9 was definitely the Golden Era. Nothing but classics on top of classics.
Jake's Story
Jake had recently married Kayla, a bubbly woman who made him feel genuinely loved. He was happy when he got married, but now he couldn't shake a feeling of being very down in the dumps. "I should be happy," he said, "I'm the luckiest guy in the world, and I'm trying hard to be the person she wants me to be. But I feel like I'm acting, forcing myself to be more upbeat than I really am. I hate feeling like I'm faking it."
I asked Jake who he thought he should be with Kayla. "I should be a person who is super happy, like she is. I need to make her feel loved and keep her happy. That's the way it's supposed to be." He looked at me expectantly for confirmation, but when I just waited, he went on: "When she comes home from work, I try hard to act really happy and excited, but it's more than I'm really feeling. I'm exhausted."
I asked him what he thought would happen if he were to honestly tell Kayla about the strain he felt, and he said, "She would be devastated and furious if I tried to talk to her about it."
I told Jake that I believed sharing his honest feelings might have enraged someone in his past, but it didn't sound like how Kayla would respond. It sounded more like what he had told me about his angry mother, who was quick to blow up if people didn't do what she wanted.
Jake's secure relationship with Kayla was tempting him to relax and be himself, but he was sure that his relationship would suffer if he stopped trying so hard.
When I told Jake that maybe this safe new relationship was giving him a chance to finally be loved for himself, he was uncomfortable with the reference to his emotional needs. He looked embarrassed and said, "When you say it like that, I sound pitiful and needy."
During childhood, Jake had gotten the message from his mother that showing any emotional needs meant he was weak.Further, he didn't act how she wanted him to, he fell dequ and unlovable.
Jake was eventually able to understand his feelings and become more genuine with Kayla, who totally accepted him. But he was astounded by how much anger toward his mother we'd unearthed. "I can't believe how much I hated her," he said. What Jake didn't realize is that hate is a normal and involuntary reaction when somebody tries to control you for no good reason. It signals that the person is extinguishing your emotional life force by getting his or her needs met at your expense.
I think because they use too use this type of voice too promote venues marketed towards childern and teenagers 😂😂, l remember destruction derby commercials used too do this as well in the late 80's early 90's.
Mung means a small round green bean. According to Google
Thanks for this I was having a bad day
It had such a Happy ending for everyone....I think intentionally. And Kenny came back as you said. Great video man!
If Mama Cass gave Karen Carpenter that ham sandwich, they both might be alive today.
AlligatorFren Something I noticed watching this episode on TV, a long time ago, is that Stan and Kyle are on the bottom-right of the screen at the 14:03 mark, even though they were previously running towards the stage.
“Night of the Living Homeless” Season 11 Episode 7.
I suggested this one too
Seeing your face change at the reveal that Garrison was upset because his dad DIDN'T abuse him cracked me up XD
This episode is one of those leaps South Park took where people at the time were like “wait they can’t do this can they?”
This episode is so twisted and hilarious and that shirt says it all, lol.
You should do South Park S10 Ep6 "ManBearPig" next its another really good episode they get trapped in a cave & Cartman eats treasure 😂
Always going to be here early. Love you man. You are everything to me

You are the MAN. it's like i got to see this for the first time again. That scene with Mr Garrison's dad in the bar literally made me cry laughing the first time I saw it. God I love this episode.
I definitely think this is the season is where they'd hit their stride. Unfortunately it's also one of the last seasons where I feel the cultural references didn't overtake the more cartoonish stuff that was done just for the fun of it (eg purely made up stuff like the brown noise). The show was still great for years to come, but I think that early playfulness of imaginative and silly ideas started to take backseat to attacking or commenting directly on real world things. This season is that sweet spot where they'd ironed out most of the kinks, but references to actual people and things were still more of a complement to the show's own (almost) innocent world that's funny on its own without all that, where later on it seemed to be the other way around sometimes.
also nice catch with Kenny in the bus at the end. you've got the sharpest eye of any reaction channel out there. I can't even count how many times I've seen this episode and yet I just knew you'd catch something I missed. lol
I'd say season 5 was the turning point.
That's something cool about South Park, you see how they improved a lot because of more experience and bettet production through the years
14:04 little Easter egg, counselor mackey said “arent those our boys” when you can see them in that same shot behind him in the lower right
I dont think ive ever seen this episode in my entire life. But JESUS CHRIST, a freakin recorder comcert?!?! Oh dear god NO!!!
Oh God, I laughed for, like, 20 minutes when they played. It's one of my favorite things in the galaxy.
6:17 had the same delayed reaction to this XDDD
Dash!
You the man
Keep it up dude
😂 I'm I the only sane person left on earth? 😂😂.. Yes Sr. You are..😂😂
Gotta catch every South Park reactions 😂
It always catches me off guard in this episode that Mr. Garrison is only 41 years old.
As for the question of them finding their voice. I think would say it happened in seasson 6 and it remained incredibly consistently solid from there to season 15 after which the creators fatigue with their formula started to show. Hell they even made a 2 part storyline which in large part served as a way to vent their frustrations at having to return to status quo after every episode. Which i would argue is probably the best 2 parter in the show the first episode of them "You're getting old" being probably the best episode of the entire show.
always love your reactions dash
should look into the doing the pan flute pandemic episodes its a 2-parter
9:28 You know something is wrong the moment that music hits in 😂😂😂😂
I think season 5 is when they really became true south park, although the show was still funny starting in season 1
9:44 Not sure about Earth, but he is the only sane person in the Garrison family.
Dash has uploaded time to watch 😊
"Starvin Marvin in Space"! Season 3 episode 13 ;)
When i fist saw this i was younger and just thought it was awkward. But now im laughing.
Your face the whole time 😂
Kenny shitting himself to death best part of the episode
