I love Grohl as a drummer, but Chad is unbelievably powerful here. He's way better than we've been led to believe. If I was to walk in and hear this band in a club, one of my first impressions would be "Good drummer."

Saw Nirvana Tad and Screaming Trees, at some place in Ellensburg, late 88ish .... still had Chad on drums and Jason on bass with the band, and Krist was on guitar ... amazing I remember that much of it haha

Kurt was still having a great time at this point. It's amazing how much can change in a few years. Grassroots culture kind of died when Kurt Cobain died. Now everything is corporate, and the kids listen to whatever trash they're fed.

I must disagree with your comment. I think you haven't taken into consideration what the internet has become for many, many independent musicians and other artists. Musicians can control their music, get paid for their work through Spotify ,Patreon, etc and through a self created internet presence.
Artists' personal .com sites; where you can buy merch directly from many bands or recording artists without going through their recording labels, giving the artist a bigger slice of the pie. Cut out the corporations! Buy Direct.
I think most people consider Nirvana/Kurt Cobain to be the "Alpha and Omega" of the Seattle scene in the Grunge Heyday (or as I call it "Punk 2.0"), but it still rains A LOT in the Pacific Northwest. So there is plenty of time to be creative indoors; meaning there are plenty more rocking bands that will emerge from that area.
As far as "the kids being fed trash"; I remember the late 70's lull, where Boston, Bob Seger and Billy Joel were getting a ton of airplay! This is simply another slow period until another genre based off of Rock-n-Roll will emerge.
How do you know new music is crap (unless you have kids)? Recent survey (I-Tunes} states that folks over 38 years old, rarely buy new music from new bands. So it may be a youngster that turns YOU on to your new favorite band!
Might I remind you that K.C. was in his early 20's and was touring Europe with his friends and getting paid for it.

I was there for Nirvana and a bunch of other punk shit. It was still all corporate trash back then, and people shoveled it just as bad as today.

Yeah, he's still around. My story is about 10 years old. But Tad is recording right now with an outfit called Brothers of the Sonic Cloth.
There was a Tad documentary that came out not too long ago. It's called Busted Circuits and Ringing Ears. And I believe it can be found here on UA-cam.
The most funny and terrifying thing I've ever seen was Tad telling jokes followed by him stage diving.
