When you haven't heard one of your favourite albums/bands in years and you are like, I seriously need to make up for lost time. This record is solid gold.
I've been listening this badass band for the last 6 months almost every day...I cant get enough. My muscles grow, and my balls weigh twice as much! Hail TAD \m/
Wowwww ... Years ago , a friend was mad about TAD , went to see them in concerts etc She was keeping on saying : their lyrics are fantastic , they are funny , they are real etc etc Decades after i can say i found my Graal with TAD . THank you ,
Bought this album in my home City of Liverpool UK, so many independent record dealers stocking amazing records, Probe Records especially. My original Lp had the sleeve that was eventually banned, it had the couple on the front, for the full story Google. Mudhoney was my band of choice for Sub Pop, but when 'Bleach' by Nirvana was issued, it gave my Mudhoney a companion, with Tad adding that extra pounding flavour. I was never into Grunge or its scene, but knew the music and understood it, I was there at the birth of Grunge, so I know about all the bands, I listened to most of the albums, enjoyed a lot of them, but Mudhoney, Tad & Nirvana's first album in the late 1980s, early 90s had a place on my Turntable/ cd player, more than the other groups. I saw Mudhoney live at the Liverpool Uni on their 'Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge' Tour, with 'Leatherface' supporting, for their 'Minx' album. Once Nirvana released 'Nevermind', and the commercial explosion happened around them, it lost its appeal, it became too diluted and accessible, great album, but over exposed, still can't play 'Nevermind'. I still play my Mudhoney, Tad, but with Nirvana I only play 'Bleach', it's a psychological thing with Nirvana, the masses made it too mainstream. At least Tad is the secret underdog, that growls mightiest within the Sub Pop kennel.
One of the most criminally overlooked albums of the Seattle music explosion (or "grunge" if you feel you need that label). Most casual fans can rhyme off Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Mudhoney and even Screaming Trees, but Tad is always forgotten - this album is awesome.
Jack Pepsi is about an occurrence that actually happened in my home state of Idaho, specifically Nampa - Lake Lowell. Tad and his buddy from Nampa drove their rig out to the frozen lake and nearly died. Heavy stuff.
I ran into him and blurted out where was Lake Knowell. In Tad voice he said it’s actually Lake Lowell a man made lake in Idaho. Said it as he saw it he’s a very nice guy and an excellent musician.
I got into Nirvana in 1996, and always heard the name Tad thrown around. But this is the first time I actually heard them, and boy can I hear how Nirvana drew from this. Sounds great!!
It’s a criminal tragedy that they were overlooked during that era of PNW music but the band left us with so many awesome tunes along with many great and sometimes humorous documentary appearances. TAD RULES!!! LONG LIVE TAD!!!
Such a great album. Has all the sounds of the grunge era - nirvana soundgarden, mudhoney, alice in chains, sonic youth - all of it mixed into one. I saw them live in Alberta in 1992, where they headlined a High River festival. i cant remember the name of the festival but I remember Tad. Took forever for them to set up and do the sound check, but once it started it sounded so heavy and awesome. The stage was loaded with Marshall amps.
30:54 3D Witch Hunt. I love me some Tad pop! Such a great and catchy tune, Tad rules! 54:49 the demo version is possibly better than the album version. Good shit!
Ok, my favorite bands out of the grunge era are Nirvana and Hole. I really have not much use of any other Seattle band you can mention. But my third pick is the most unpopular band from that era and region and that is Tad- and this album is woefully overlooked.
So fun discovering new old bands. I am no stranger to NA punk and grunge but somehow these guys escaped me. If I can return the favour to anyone, NOMEANSNO one of the greatest alternative rock/ progressive punk bands ever !
Ironically they were also one of Kurt Cobain’s favorite bands. I recall stories on how he would even play drums for them on occasion and knew Tad Doyle himself quite well.
NirvanaFan - I apologize .... I wish I could recall. I’m quite certain though that it’s true. I seem to recall hearing something similar regarding ‘The Melvins’ as well. I know that Kurt and King Buzzo of ‘The Melvins’ were also good friends and that Kurt stood in for certain band members on occasion and even did a few stints as a roadie for the ‘The Melvins’ too.
Tad covering alice in chains angry chair is one of the best covers to any song I've ever heard...very true they were over looked back then for the more prettier bands...

58:26 Eddie Hook is TAD's trip down the mind of Ed Gein. Hence the shirt. Awesome song, very psychedelic. And should have been the 'hook' for the entire album.
I want bands like TAD to get credit for tuning between every song. Electronic pedal tuners. Before Tad, anyone who tried any of the material on this album or similar would be lost. When a band like Tad is in tune, the way this record has pressed into CD, quality ones and zeros… you can tell they can all hear what each other is doing without all that racket. Fucking put rock ‘n’ roll on rails yo. A whole new level of professionalism. All that DTuning turned out to be SuperTuning is a registered trademark of Pioneer quality underdash cassette decks.L LP
Rude Realism why don't you by the cd and print out the original cover, laminate it and put it over the new one so it still holds in place nice and looks great, that's what I'm gonna do when I finally get it😂
When I think of grunge I think of Tad they're heavy as Fuck but definitely have a gentle side too. It's not too pretty or anything tho it's just damn good.
Jack: Heyyy maan, if we're gonna make it through this alive you're gonna have to settle down and breath the air off the roof! Tad Doyle: Help me Jack Pepsi!
I'm hearing little nuances on this that I didn't hear on the casette. Was this re-mastered or something? The @50:00 cut has guitar in it that I never heard before.
Oi , newbies ! I have a question : Between the last song ( ´Flint`I guess) on Melvins ´s ´King Buzz` EP with Dave Grohl on vocals etc, and ´Jack Pepsi` in this . Basically : who came 1st , the egg or the chicken ?

I saw TAD open for Dinosaur Jr in the mid 90s. All I remember is they were really loud and Tad would yell "Smoke Pot!" between every song.
Anyone who is listening to this right now rules!~ Long live TAD!~
I actually suck, but thanks anyway.

Bravo Comment, cheers from Ohio!
Man, grunge's heavier edge didn't survive the mainstream, wish I would've know about artists like them in the 90's. They rule!
Alice In Chains tho.
@@HardcoreGamer4Ever there's only one "little" difference: LAYNE STALEY

You can hear TAD's influence in SoundGarden's early works. Those guys played together you know.

The crazy thing is that They made it out alive! Tad is a survivor. Other guys did crazy shit like that and never made it through.

I got into Nirvana in 1996, and always heard the name Tad thrown around. But this is the first time I actually heard them, and boy can I hear how Nirvana drew from this. Sounds great!!
I had an 8 Way Santa t-Shirt covered in cigarette burns and stains. Some girl stole it and I'm still pissed.
Found one of my old Thrasher mags (April 1991) and this band was advertised. Never heard them before. UA-cam is pretty neat for these things.
