- MJ Lenderman joined by Waxahatchee's Katie Crutchfield for "She's Leaving You" off his excellent new album 'Manning Fireworks' at ANTI-'s AMERICANAFEST showcase.
Katie, whose own great new album 'Tigers Blood' features Lenderman on multiple songs and who brought Lenderman out during her set at the same festival, made a surprise appearance to sing the song's harmonies, filling in for Lenderman's Wednesday bandmate Karly Hartzman, who sings on the album version and frequently joins him at shows.
You can stream the whole show -- including Waxahatchee's set + Neko Case, Christian Lee Hutson & more -- on Veeps now: bit.ly/4es431I
Crazy horse vibing
Yes! I was thinking Neil, but definitely CH!
The bass player singing along when you see him is the marker of a badass song
He needs to get his ass up off that chair though
@@deanmccormick9384maybe he has back problems or something
And the bass line is great!
Is that Brad Cook?
@@gabrieledalena9142 He looks a like Brad Cook. I'd say so.
This song fucking rocks. It’s absolutely seared into my brain
Lame and whiny
@@Letmegodowninthemud Certainly an opinion but my guy MJ is playing sold out shows so you may be in the minority homie
@@rwdwyer hey nickleback sells out shows
@@LetmegodowninthemudZing!
@@rwdwyer he’s just fine, I don’t understand the hype but that’s okay everyone finds joy in something
I need more lenderman live clips to survive
Same. He is slowly doing concerts in Europe here and there, I hope I will join one.
These two together...I can't! I swear I've listened to this song like 10090823049382 times already!
MJ and Katie is a perfect match
No hate at all cause they're great but I still prefer Karly's voice paired with his
A true singer who can sound just as good live. This seems so rare to witness now !
Banger.
seeing katie guest perform on this brings a smile to your face.
Such a great fuggin’ song. Just keeps getting better.
Keep doing this... PLEASE! so freaking good
I get a Son Volt vibe, and it’s a good thing.
Thank you! I couldn’t put my finger on that vibe…Son Volt!
That was my immediate thought when I first heard this.

Early Neil Young vibes
Colin Croom is my spirit animal
So good
"We all got work to do..."
Reminds me of early REM, in the best possible way.
Kurt Vile meets Ryan Adams at a Dinosaur Jr party
Reminds me of Semisonic.
Nice!
....and the Pixies made the fruit punch
Sadler Vaden and Jason Isbell watched the guitar interplay and said "Well alright".
Asheville home boy!
Qué brutal esta vaina. ♥⚡
Arrechisimo

Sounds like it could have been on The Windbreakers' "Run" album. Great stuff
Richmond Fontaine, Uncle Tupelo, Dinosaur Jr., DBT love child
Sounds like Magnolia Electric Co.
Tremendously likable guy that Timothy is

He's the drummer for Waxahatchie.
lol I tried to change it when I realized 😊
Well now what's wrong with that? Heard it on electric radio from Coast to Coast.. good enough!
Hearing Jason Molina sounds
Funny that this video has 229 views (at this time) whereas my video of my Willie Winkie has almost double that.
MJ Lendermain is a decent singer songwriter who happens to live in the same body as the world's greatest accompanying guitarist.
The man cannot do a dull song.
{Esit} UA-cam have asked me to clarify that I like MJL.
How do you look 12 and 50 at the same time. Bros not allowed in the Himbo Dome
@@austinwells5778 Fur real.
@@austinwells5778 Are you a catcher for the NY Yankees, possibly?
@@churchvan
How cool would that be?
@@richardsylvanus2717 Massive yankees and MJ Lenderman fan here so I'd probably cry tbh lmao
I can understand the young Neil Young vibe but for those of us of a certain age. They sound a lot like the band Superchunk from the early 90's...
ua-cam.com/video/nNNaIGq4IMI/v-deo.html
Yes! Super Chunk / Dino Jr / Wilco
Uncle Tupelo vibe
“It’s not the $, I just like the life”

Why is the crowd so dead
A little Sonic Youth vibe.
Will never be huge a retro act
A teleprompter? Lol
The girl using it is not in the band, so ...
What's up with the crowd?
Needs some cowbell.
