Quentin Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

I love the songs in this movie
Deep Purple Hush Kentucky Woman
It's like saying to everyone that sky is blue :) Yet every time it's nice to hear )
Los Bravo's
Rambling gambling man is my favorite in this movie
It was the 60's man!
Al Pacino has made 2 big movies this year. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the Irishman. Am I the only one who's happy beyond description that he's back???
He deserves an Oscar for The Irishman.
Same goes with de Niro who's been in the Joker and The Irishman. They've both been in some pretty terrible movies in the past 20 years, so I'm glad they're finally back
@@rayyanqureshi6007 also joe pesci is back from retirement
@@topfoci564 Can't wait to see it tomorrow when it gets on Netflix! So excited!
@@rayyanqureshi6007 Couldn't agree with u more! They are back to greatness!
Cliff Booth's first and last line in the movie is "I try". Whoa.
I didn't catch that until about the third viewing LOL
Actually what he says in this clip is his first line.
@@ReelsLife But that's not from the film proper, it's from a filmed interview....
Juliano I thought his first like was “What? Carrying his load?”
@@metalmanny666 Yeah but that was in a "Entertainment Tonight" style news story...his first line in the film "proper" was "I try"...
I can't tell the amount of times I'm gonna watch this over and over
I know the feeling just bought it off iTunes. Problem is I feel guilty watching any one scene. Like "Sgt Peppers" album this film has to be seen from start to finish!
oceantracks ahh give it a break. Stop blowing off quentin
@@rahulkanai There are a lot of people who disagree with you lol
I watched it four times
@@Mobischer I can Relate
From the moment the car radio started blasting at around 3:20 I had a smile/grin on my face for the next almost three hours. One of my favourite films ever, instantly! Just brilliant and SO much fun!
I saw this movie four times in the same month and still enjoyed it more each time
Same I saw it in the cinema I’m 15 I snuck in and as soon as the song played and they were pulling out of the driveway I couldn’t contain my excitement my smile was huge
Me to lol .this movie iconic cult masterpiece. My favorite film by him. Leo and brad were so amazing. Hope this film gets best picture just watched it last night . Film never gets old
LukeyWukey love that
The best way to watch this movie for the first time is in an empty theatre right after work with 2 friends who love QT as much as you do. I'm lucky to have had that experience
This film is the most 1969 thing to come out in the 21st Century.
Once upon a time in hollywood and also Inherent Vice, which I know is set in 1970 but has that feel of the 60s not immediately crossing over into the seventies.
Both movies are absolutely incredible and are extremely true to the time period they inhibit in this case the late 60s/early 70s
@@patrickdmuzangi9639 - Yeah, you're right.
Agreed 👍🏿
not really. that tv western is straight out of the late 50's early 60's.
It's the best version of 1969, beats even the real one. If they'd added "Aquarius" by the 5th Dimension, that would've been even better.
Instant chills when Cliff fires up the Coupe and “treat her right” plays. Hands down this movie is my best cinema experience. It’s iconic!!!
5:58 I love how the narrator just randomly cuts in right here. Honestly, one of my favorite bits in this whole film.
That’s Kurt Russell btw
Tarantino touch in his movie
Now I want to see a full episode of bounty law.
QT is working on 5 episodes of Bounty Law for Netflix.
Massive Douche did he get Leo on board for this?
@@MasDouc that would be awesome!
@@MasDouc no he is not working on anything for netflix. lame joke
RottenHopper Tarantino already has plans to make an extended cut of the film as a mini-series for Netflix, same situation as Hateful Eight.
“Don't cry in front of the Mexicans” best part hahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahaha
LOL.
Hahahah that got me too
I don't get it
Antonio Díaz that’s the point
:DD
rick: now can i fall of a horse....yes i can...yes i have
cliff: hehehe
Bruce Dern: "Not everybody needs a stuntman" lol
It's great how you absolutely believed they were best friends. Great writing and acting.
This movie is truly a masterpiece. I didn't see how Quentin could outdo his previous classics but goodness this movie blew me away! I really hope it cleans house during the awards this year. Cinematic masterpiece.
Tarantino and the staff could wrap up some awards but the big ones,I don't think so.Best Actor has to be Joaquin Phoenix for Joker,Best Supporting Actor, now there you could make a case for Pitt but I think Al Pacino deserves it much more for another iconic performance in The Irishman.Best Picture?Hard one to predict, for me personally it's Joker, don't know if the Academy would go that far though. The Irishman is also a better movie I think.
Brian Anthony he’s going up against The Irishman
It's the best movie I have seen in literally decades. 5 times at the theater and heaven help me now I have it from iTunes lol
@@TheAerovons - This'll sound crazy but I don't care. I saw this movie 11 times in the theatres. I really, thoroughly, enjoyed this film & yes I own it on digital 😆
@@JLMODELTEKKEN No back in the glory days of the 70s I saw films that many times..."The Exorcist"...."Jaws"....to name two. This film just keeps giving...as all the best ones do...lines that you keep hearing in your head days later, etc. It's a masterpiece to me as well. I can't get sick of this film lol
Most satisfying ending.. 😍 their friendship
It's official, old buddy, this movie is another cult classic.
I think you mean instant classic. It's already reached universal praise and success upon its initial release.
@Mike B It's definitely up there for me. Pulp Fiction is still my favorite. Once Upon a Time is definitely in my top 3 favorites.
Joe Boyko pulp fiction is second to Reservoir Dog’s
Niagra Poosy I have those two tied for #1
@@joeboyko8013 For me it's Hateful eight then Pulp fiction and then Once upon a Time in Hollywood. I'm crazy like that
Gotta say , Al Pacino was excellent in the few minutes we saw him on screenn
I agree, so good. I still have to watch The Irishman and Hunters
It would've been awesome to have seen him in other Tarantino movies.
Should’ve just played the whole damn movie!!!!

This flim so iconic
Brad Pitt is an icon in this film
@@TheMasterQuests This is the coolest Brad Pitt has been on screen since Fight Club.
The Wu-Cepticon he was definitely cool in oceans
@@TheWuCepticon1981 Oh hell yea
@@TheWuCepticon1981 I would say since The Assassination of Jesse James. He was a total badass in that.
One of Tarantino’s best movies.
Yeah for me there "Hollywood" then all the others.
I'd put it more in the middle personally but I can definitely understand why others would love it. Such a brilliant film.
@Tomáš Urban čau Urbane já jsem taky Urban
Not even close
@@zeke1707 how is it brilliant? I think Tarantino is brilliant but this movie was like a one off, bit stale to me
In 3:43 the couple starts dancing the Uma Thurman/John Travolta dance in "Pulp Fiction". P.D.: Al Pacino is the best! He deserves the Best Supporting Actor Oscar this year!
DiCaprio isn't getting enough credit for his acting in this film..its incredible! The breakdown inside the trailer, his emotional outburst outside the restaurant, the bad acting scene, the great acting scene...all brilliant..To play another actor with different mannerisms and techniques must be difficult.
I agree. I liked Pitt in this movie but the various nuances that DiCaprio puts in the acting the part(s) puts him in class by himself. Brad A, Leonardo A++.
3:43 guy on the right is doing the Vincent Vega dance.
Leo Oscar. Brad Oscar. The director Oscar this film is a instant classic a masterpiece
James Handley I love this movie but lets not forget about Joker and The irishman
One of the best films of 2019, can’t wait for the blue ray
The fact that Pacino starred in two of the best films nominated for the Oscars this year and neither of them won Best Picture is crazy.
If Parasite wasn’t nominated, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood might’ve had a chance at winning
Don't. Bleep. Tarantino.
One of QT’s best and best 2019 by far!!!
This film was immediately my favorite Tarantino picture.
THANK YOU
Me too, absolutely. It has a huge heart.
Mine too.
You're crazy
@@AirCanada1J5 The hateful eight comes close and obviously Pulp Fiction holds a place in my heart, but Hollywood truly shows Quentin's maturity and development in film and the way he directed every screen with careful calculation and precision makes this an easy choice for me. Which one is your fav?
I'm in love with this movie I can't stop thinking about it, Al Pacino is great here, Brat Pitt and Leo both planet treasures, Quentin a genius, this movie has epics lines
Another Oscar worthy performance for the greatest
Yeah, brad is great(?)
@@SG91218 I'm sure he meant Leo
Milan Peter Brad should get best supporting actor. At least nominated, along with Al Pacino in The Irishman.
Leo's good in this but its definitely a Brad Pitt movie
@@erikbentley9005 I agree. But I would put Al's performance in The Irishman above him.
mostly what i remember about this movie was how funny leonardo dicaprio's and how cool brad pitt's characters were
The first time i saw that "Bounty Law" segment i had this hugh grin in my face
I still do
I live in Western Australia and 14 hours drive from the closest movie theater and I love my blu-Ray of this film.
Such a great film
I knew I was in for a good time as soon as the film started. Outstanding cinema.
This film had great actors and terrific music. One of my favorite films in a long time.
Cliff Booth: “I try”
0:50 wilhelm scream?
Yes it is, nice catch.
0:53
I cracked up laughing when I heard that Whilem Scream.
Tarantino had to add it in out of respect to cinema, which is what this film is.
Lol me too
@@Enes-wj5xq love this movie
Tarantino used that in every movie he made.
“The 14 fists of McCluskey” is that a reference to The Godfather when Al Pacino gets punched by the police chief McCluskey?
DonCheto323 someone also said it might be a reference to inglorious bastards, If I remember correctly there was 14 of them
DonCheto323 When I heard of that name McCluskey, I also thought of the Godfather
could be ... so many inside jokes reportedly in the film, it's possible!
One of the directors of one of the spaghetti westerns was also used as a alias for one character in inglourious basterds
Its such a simple line but I just love it.
"Can I fall off a horse? Yes I can... yes I have"
It's just funny and simple humor😅😅
Al Pacino: 7:29 "Say hello to my little friend!"
*- that your son?*
*- no, that’s my stunt double, Cliff Booth*
*XDDDDDDDD*
That was funny!!!! I wonder if he improvised that part
Love the opening
Al Pacino was almost 80 here and still stole every scene he was in
One of the best of 2019.
One of the best in decades. Timeless classic.
5:41 I don't know what Cliff Booth is eating but this scene hypes my craving to try whatever it is
I guess it is celery
Now we just need a movie starring DiCaprio, Pitt, Damon and Bale, possibly directed by Scorsese or QT
That would be great
What we need Is another movie with Pitt and Leonardo, no matter what it is. What a team!
Add Phoenix to it.
Once upon a time in Le mans66
Called "Communism"
I would love watch this movie anytime and anywhere 😍❤️, can't get over the vibe that I got while watching this movie 🍿🎥. Leo & Brad best duo.
3:22 I like how Leonardo DiCaprio's name was below Brad Pitt's character and Brad Pitt's name was below Leonardo DiCaprio's character... I find that a little interesting and kinda funny :D
I've seen this movie 3 or 4 times and I just now noticed the shots with Roman and Sharon walking in he airport (going around the corner, feet, from behind) are identical to Rick and Francesca towards the end of the movie.
Yep and in this video when Sharon is getting pictures taken by paparazzi it shows Rick walking through the restaurant kinda looking around like damn no one even notices me that’s what I got from the scene atleast
STILL gotta wait one more week to own this!😌
Cliff sitting down, & crunching on that celery. Makes me wanna try that drink everytime!😋
Once upon a time is absolutely a summer chillout flick, being released in the birth of winter. A clever way to get warm!🤗🌞
Brad Pitt will win best supporting at the Oscars! I’m calling it here and now!
Joe Pesci
Citizen O you called it
You knew the diabolocal minds of the deviant delusional. Props.
I just watched the movie on DVD yesterday. I had no idea what it was about. Hadn't seen a trailer or read a synopsis, so I had no expectations or preconceived notions of it. That's probably why I loved it so much. I mean the writing and acting in this flick are masterful.
The very moment I caught the Manson tie-in was when Dicaprios character recognized Roman Polanski as his neighbor. But not nearly to the degree that it actually played out.
The young girl who played the hostage was phenomenal support, especially considering her and Dicaprios first encounter...awsome. Not to mention stalwarts Kurt Russell and Al Pacino.
This is a masterpiece with such great actors.
The flip side to Treat Her Right, by Roy Head and the Traits on Backbeat records, is called Wigglin' and Gigglin'. You'll dig it.
This is such a great scene. But I've always wondered where the cameras are supposed to be during the interview. They took a lot of steps to make it authentic to the time period, but the there should be 3 cameras, and we don't see any.
Yeah I thought the same thing. There's no way an interview would be done back then with three cameras, far too costly. You have to assume, like many interviews, the presenter is asking questions to the camera, on his own. This happened a lot in the past when camera crews etc were expensive. They edit them together later. Its black and white film, ide say QT kept the interview in BW to make it more authentic.
I love how Pitt's character is sitting slightly behind Leo's.
Brett Anthony I
Had myself a Rick Dalton fuckin film festival too by see this masterpiece 6 times in theater.
4:13 love this entrance
The way Rick confidently struts in and the more mellow Cliff follows him in.
I saw the movie today, great movie, first 2 hours you gonna see the sixties and the last 40 min classic Quentin Tarantino material. btw, where can I see the extended cut 3hrs?
The deleted scene will be on the Blu-ray. The extended cut won’t be available to watch officially outside of its limited theatrical run.
I saw the 3 hour extended cut with my friend and believe me you didn’t miss out much. Before the actual movie starts it shows a beer ad that’s supposed to be a company in the movie. Next was like a 30 second red apple cigarettes ad and wasn’t all that much, last of the extras of the beginning part was a cameo of this one actor forgot his name but you could probably search it up and find it.
Then it is at the end of the movie where you get a few extra clips. They don’t continue the plot at all of the movie and instead are basically longer and extended clips of the fictional shows that were already presented in the movie like JK Hill and Johnny Madrid. Me and my friend were left kinda disappointed but the movie is really good so we didn’t care seeing it again.
Gabriel Mart the cut I saw on the site Soap2Day was only 154 minutes long overall (with credits). Does this movie have alternate cuts?
I heard it might get a four parter on Netflix.
@Michael Scarn - It has two.
The theatrical 141 minute cut.
The limited release extended 151 minute cut.
I would love if Tarantino’s 10th film is actually The 14 Fists of McCluskey!!!
Im sad cuz it didn´t make it to "Don´t Cry in front of the mexicans" line.
The clip would have to be another ten minutes then because that line comes at the start of the second reel.
@@AngelofMusic04 I am aware.
But sad about it.
The first 8 minutes of the movie got me hyped! Can't wait to see the full version of the movie! #OnceUponATimeInHollywood
Very special movie. Will be considered Tarrantino's best work in time.
One of the best intros to a movie! Tarantino is a Genius!
I'm not a fan of Quentin's work by a long shot, but this movie lives in my mind all the time.
This is a quarter of a century as a filmmaking nerd No. 1
The entire movie and the music is INCREDIBLE!!!😀😀😀😎😎
Dude I am for real in love with his movie
I absolutely adore this film
I always laugh when Al Pacino asks Rick if Cliff is his son. I don’t know why it’s just funny to me.
I laughed so hard at that
This such an underrated movie. And overhated too
The production design in this movie deserves a fucking OSCAR
7:19 Quintin Tarantino Cameo
I think......
I wasn't sure if that was him, thanks for clarifying it.
This isn't him. Tarantino has only one cameo with his voice at the end of the movie. It's the red apple cigarettes ad.
Mohamed M. Ibrahim
Idk I thought so too
But it does kinda look a lot like him tho
That's not him
Kinda looks like Michael Madsen from this angle
I always had a sneaking suspicion that Brad Pitt was Robert Redford’s son in real life. I never did the math, though.
Please QT do the mini-serie of this for netflix !!!
I love this movie, the songs, the '60 style. Great Tarantino!
The Bounty Law stuff makes me nostalgic for an era I never lived through!
Brad Pitt and Christian Bale ( Ford vs Ferrari) will battle it out for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars. I don't mind who wins, they were both BRILLIANT
7:30 He forgot to say ''Say Hi to my L'il friend''
Morey Amsterdam and Rose Marie were pretty awesome.
5:09 when I saw this picture in a theatre people erupted for Al Pacino which was more than any other lead actors in this film..only QT managed to get better pop than Al
The way Leo takes a sip out of his ice cold drink at 4:50 deserves an Oscar itself. Marvelous
3 legends in one frame 😍
Great film
When Leo drew his six shooter in that black and white movie preview, i had a flashback when he was in the quick and the dead. The white hat probably had something to do with it 😋
another awful movie. and the first 30 min great at setting the times. after that an over acted mess. and that tv western is straight out of the late 50's early 60's. not '69. jeeze.
Loved this movie. Possibly my fav Tarantino film
I was laughing so hard it hurt during those last scenes.
I went to that bar on Hollywood Blvd and sat in the exact same spot as Leo Did 5:22 was a pretty cool experience to sit where a legend had sat
Pitt:What? Carrying his load yeah that sounds about right. Perfect line!
"Awe, you're looking good baby" ( Margot Robbie dancing )
What a picture
5:00 Dude, that's such a good shot following the hood ornament. The way the light and shadow play off it.
i think all Margot Robbie did was 60's dance her way through the movie
She asked to be in the movie.
I thought it was pretty pointless
Frederick Bird Her ‘Character’ is basically the reason why this film exists. You realise she was playing a real person right?
@@BCS1105 i'm not a fucking idiot. my orig comment stands. i get she was a character based on a real woman, i know that, yet she had no real lines and everytime we saw her she was doing that silly "60's" dance. so there. oh, i just farted from my 'arse'
She dances in 3 scenes, there’s another 5 scenes where she doesn’t dance, plus an entire sequence, which shows how an amazingly talented actess she is, precisely because she doesn’t have one single line in 15 minutes, she able to carry that whole sequence without without saying one word
I loved this movie! What did you guys think?
It was amazing enjoy every minute
Idk
The best movie that I've seen in years. Ironically, I'm not a Tarantino fan. But not only is this the best movie of the year. But it's the best movie in years.
Boring
My all time favourite movie and I love the characters
I'l watch anything if Timothy Olyphant is in it. A seriously talented actor who's played some iconic roles. His portrayal of Seth Bullock and Dep US Marshall Raylan Givens was masterful. He can flip to comedy with Drew Barrymore, he's just a delight to watch. Leo always delivers. Pitt? Not a real fan but he gets it done, seems to really hate Germans.
6:15 Jesus how tall is Leonardo DiCaprio or how short is Al Pacino 😂
Both
Movie of 2019 for damn sure
"I try". Like the end of the film.
7:01 - They showed the movie clips from Against a Crooked Sky (1975).
