    Ditto the comments below - these are solid pumps that run efficiently, quiet and have proven themselves to be reliable.

    Do you guys have the skimmer pump version? I have a rather old, but still good, skimmer and rather than using multiple pumps that are "matched" I'd rather get a DC pump and tune it as necessary. But not many seem to sell skimmer versions.

    V-6 on my 300. You dont need that much turn over. I have it at one below full setting. Never had an issue. 10x is not needed. 2-3 is perfect. Some even do 1.

    Can you run the varios pumps at a lower speed that the presets if ran through the apex flow monitor.
    I have the varios 6 plumbed into my uv and I need to run it at 1800l/h but the lowest preset is 4000l/h apparently. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    For the hard plumbing, is the diameter exactly 1” for example - so do I need a 1” OD pipe, rather than a “nominal” 1” pipe? Would be interested to know what the thread on the pump itself is too. Thanks!

      BulkReefSupplyCom thanks! I wish I could order from you but I’m in the UK (I’m sure you’ve heard it before but if you ever decide to add international shipping, I’ll order from you, I love your videos). The piping sizes are all different over here too which makes things fun!

    Quick question, how much does the Apex flow monitor restrict flow?

    • @Mike__B
      @Mike__B 6 років тому

      A flow meter for the flow meter!? Flowception! But yeah I could see that, attach two flow meters in a straight line, and then see if they read differently by any appreciable amount.

    Do you need to super glue or silicone the barb extension on or is it solid enough to not come off?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  3 роки тому

      A plastic hose clamp is usually what we use to secure any soft tubing to the barb fitting.

    Have a flowmeter on my current return and seem to kill alot of flow from the pump. Will it be the same with this pump?

    • @BRStv
      @BRStv  4 роки тому

      I guess this depend on the restriction of the flow meter, but overall the pumps maintain good head heights. They have a diagram on our product page to show flow rates dependent on head height.

      @@BRStv thank you, its hard choice here in Europe to pick a pump, they are priced on similar level, but I will go Octo, they seem to be quiet and reliable according to reviews

    You didnt talk about the material of the pump or how silent it is. Are these in the same build quality as vectra or are they solid titanium made more premium comparable with RD3/Abyzz

    • @wengc1857
      @wengc1857 6 років тому

      Thanks for the reply. Yes im trying to find a really quiet pump but no one talks about the noise level properly. Everyone says their pumps are very silent lol. Now can I get a way with a vectra with their QD tech that they say are in the vectras pumps? Or do you pay for what you get where only top tier Abyzz have absolutely minimal noise? etc everything breaks so im aiming for noise level. however to be fair ive only read people having issues with the abyzz controller and not the actual pump itself lol

    7 minutes and 46 second in. Hoping this was just water and everyone realizes this is just water before acid was added to the bucket. Please do not put your hands anywhere near strong acids even when partly diluted.
