With a sump, it is a good idea to hook up the return pump to a battery back up. I like to run my sump super full, so if the pump died the sump might flood.

Just about to set one of these up. So when it comes to cleaning the pump you just unscrew and pull the fitting out of the pump?
Awesome pump! Word of advice, i used the most expensive double sided, extreme hold, tape and after 6 months the humidity still made my control fall and just nearly miss the sump water. Just a heads up. Salt water is relentlessly destructive and your controller is mounted right above your sump. Two tiny stainless screws from your local hardware store will give more peace of mind. Cant wait to see some fish in coral in this awesome setup!👍
