8-30-23 Reset ink pad and cleaning for my Epson printer was such a relief. It’s old and I still loved it. But everything I read and watched and asked about made me want to pull my hair out. You deserve sainthood for coming to my rescue. Thank you😊
It didn’t work for me I’m so lost
Had my printer 4 years before this happened. Your fix saved me as I called Epson and got their price of 25.00 and 3 weeks to get a replacement and they told me there is no key to reset the counter but I would have to have a service technician do that after I replaced the part. I cleaned it myself and used your suggestion to fix mine. The hard part was waiting for the clean felt pads to dry. I put mine in the over at 170 degrees for several hours and they finally dried. It would be nice to have a set of pads on hand because it was messy, messy, messy. Wear rubber gloves!
Thanks a ton. Nice quick to the point video. Epson should be ashamed of this sort of practice and it should be criminal. Imagine car manufacture one morning locking you out of your car and requiring dealer maintenance because your cabin air filter needed replacing. Then requiring a tow to the shop and dealer labor and parts to replace it. It is infuriating this sort of hostage software is legal.
I can't agree more after tomer service for over an hour on a long distance charge because they don't have 800 numbers and having a representative repeat only one thing over and over again, saying these parts are not replaceable. You have to go to a service repair who wants a $150 to fix period none of them speak English clearly hard to hear hard to understand and the other thing they do is repeat the same thing over and over again because they really don't know the answer other than what the written notes. Tell them the alternative was he offered me a 25% discount. On a limited time, purchase of a new machine period

You are brilliant! I bought a new printer thinking there was no way to fix this problem, without taking it into an Epson repair center, which was NOT close to my house. Lo and Behold, I followed your steps and it worked perfectly and by downloading the WIC reset, I was able to clear the error pad and gain more life in my printer. This is amazing and I cannot thank you enough for posting this video. Now I can return the new printer. Thank you!

YOU just saved my life with this!!! I knew the waste ink pad was getting full & then it froze quit working.. I replaced the waste ink pad itself but EPSON told me there was NOT a reset key for it! You are absolutely The Best!! I agree with many of the other positive comments listed herein, you succinctly put together a no nonsense tutorial with a quick remedy. Although our Epson ET-2760 has been an the best overall printer I've owned over the years, this built-in, call the technician flaw was almost a crippling experience since we didn't see it coming! Nice, appreciate the video as a professional with no access to Epson’s licensed software I was able to use this to successfully help out a client today, worked perfectly. Wish there was a free version that would do the complete reset but, hey beggars can’t be choosers.
Beware of some of the other links floating around out there because upon investigation most of them are viruses or malware of some sort and this was the only one I could find that was somewhat legitimate.

Thank you so much!! My printer started showing this error after 6 weeks... so annoying. It's a refurbished one so I'm guessing it wasn't reset before I bought it. Supposedly under warranty but i use it every single day for my business, so who has time for all that? I won't mind paying for a key now that I know the process actually works! Wait mine is brand new and it says it requires service? Could this mean that the seller lied that it is new ?
@@vloggsounds767 if it was sold as new, I'd contact the seller. If it was sold as refurbished, this might not have been included in the refurbishment. One way to tell would be by carefully removing the ink tank (you can find instructions/videos online) and seeing if there is a lot of ink in it.

@@katiebugxoxo7943 I washed mine out but they dried kind of funky and odd shaped so I ended up buying some generic kitchen sponges and cutting them to fit. Works perfectly!

For the skeptical person scrolling through the comments looking for complaints like I did: It actually works. The program kept freezing up for me on Windows 10, but closing the assistant window that pops up by default and clicking on the buttons manually did it for me.

Thank you i was kind of worried. I have the et 2720 as well and i used a different decoder. I tried to do it with my et 2803. It wasn't working. I just UA-cam it and your video was the first and help out! Now i know i could use this site in the feature or for friend who need to use it!
