Mere days after that, new inventory will arrive at the AD...and a few weeks later...it will all be gone. When is your best shot at purchasing a Rolex at msrp? And what models will be available? I bought the 41mm Turquoise OP for £4700 in the UK back in August 21, retail price. Still have it whatever it’s worth. Waiting for the Panda, Batgirl & Pepsi. If they come along great, if not, well that’s life. Still got my Turquoise.
I got my OP41 in november 2020 for msrp. Sold it a couple of weeks ago for $27000. Now they've gone down a bit.
Only buying/wanting the hot shit. Are you just another sheep or do you only collect for investment?
This is exactly why I’ve never jumped on a Rolex. Too much hype and hoops to jump through to get one. I’d rather buy a grand Seiko or omega today at the ad and be done with it.
I was offered the 36 Candy Pink by my AD at the retail when it came out. I didn't like it but bought it anyway. I am glad I did.
The fact you didn’t like it, but you’re now glad you like it because of the price increase shows how much you really care about watches. Which isn’t a whole lot!

You predicted the wild dial they just released. Not just the OP but also the daydate with no daydate.
It clashes with the sweater. I suggest you keep the sweater and send the Rolex to me. It will make you feel better.
I bought a 2022 41mm submariner in gray market for $15,xxx . although it was higher than retail price, I’m pretty happy about the purchase.
Hi Marc, you make a good point but I will say that a few weeks after the 41 OP turquoise was released (maximum 1 month after), I informed my AD that I was interested and the rest is history…..the hype went crazy and never did I get an opportunity to purchase one from my AD. Sometimes there just are no opportunities for collectors (even those with a positive history with their AD) who show a strong interest in a model long before the hype-train has even left the station. Stay well.

After 3 months of trying, today I got the call for my first Rolex. I picked up a beautiful Starbucks submariner. I absolutely love it! My tips: stop in once a month, be genuine and show your personality, be likable, dress accordingly, and show your rep that you are serious. They can do anything they want. Make them want to do nice things for you. Best of luck watch hunting!
Well said. I recently got the call on the 21st of February for a Submariner Date. Had been stopping by the store once a month since December. I expected to wait a long time, but it really depends on how much they like you.

@@michaelcampbell195 Thank you! I’m blessed to say I’ve never had a bad ad experience and the manager actually told me they were instructed by Rolex to start selling to more younger people.
@@shomarihailey2763 That's great to hear. I believe that. If we the younger generation don't buy the watches, Rolex would be in trouble in 10-20 years. I have only had one bad experience in an ad. Other than that I have only had good experiences. But, I did not go in a store with unrealistic expectations. I also know watches better than most. So I was an informed customer. I feel like a lot of people who complain about the AD are people who know little and only want watches to flip them. (Not saying there aren't people who are great and can't get them as well.) In that case, venture out and find a different AD. I originally reached out to 3 different ones when I started my journey of trying to acquire a Rolex.

We have the same AD. Well I’ve been to both Orland and Highland. I hear Highland doesn’t get any new Rolex’s anymore, only Orland now. I was planning on going up there tomorrow to see what they had. I went to Omega downtown last week to check out a Speedmaster then stopped in to Rolex afterwards and they were pretty rude when I went in there. There were 5 or 6 suits standing there and said “what are you looking for” I answered, a watch. They said “we don’t have any Mens watches” okay I just turned around and walked out. I only got about two steps in to there. Went home pretty upset. Buying isn’t like it used to be. Thanks for your insight in this video.
Marc let’s see first for those people who are waiting years after years for there Rolex watch from their AD which they placed there name for it before they can or will order a new one. 😂😂 I highly doubt it.
Even if Rolex will come out with new models , it will be for exhibition only and will takes few more years till someone gets a call 📞.

I just got an e-mail from a larger watch retailer that has a used Hulk with papers for $35K--no lie.
Still not very many regular people can get anything from an AD.

I ordered the White Sky on Jubilee and my AD said I'm first in line since know one else asked for one, but I find it stunning!
Summary - by the hype never the watch you like . Best advice . I guess rolex is the game changer to do such things
agree in general but would modify your point by saying it's highly dependent also on your standing with your AD. if you don't have any relationship you are unlikely to get even the most unliked new releases even day one - and conversely, if you are a valued customer the window for you to have access will be longer or even indefinite.
Ah the days of talking about discount are gone, now people are lucky to get one at retail. 2019 was the year I walked into the local AD for the first time and walked out with an steel dail 36 OP.. no wait list bs, now everything is wait list

Your theory to buy soon after intro sure didn't work for me with respect to the green palm dial DJ. I asked my AD just after it came out. Never got it. IMO There is much more in the mix here and each AD is different in their approach.
I think UA-cam has passed its usefulness. 30 seconds of ads is too much..

Rolex website will show you everything you can’t purchase. Once you know the exact day of the new release announcement- keep checking the Rolex website. If you miss it - no worries- the new releases will be all over UA-cam in minutes. Marc is a great source for new info on Rolex as well. Good luck- hope you’re a patient person.
I like the Datejust better than the Submariner. I was at my AD and his case was empty.

How would your AD find out if you flipped a watch you bought from him? How long should you wait before you resell a watch you bought from your AD?
It’s pretty common when you are trying to order another watch from the same A.D. that they ask you to come on in with the last one they sold you or all of them if they suspect you flipped.
Cermit is way better than the old super case sub. I have both.
Any thoughts on wether there will be a new GMT Master 2 in April. I’ve been trying to get one for a year and my AD hasn’t been able to get one. I e bought 3 watches from them and I considered going to the grey market but even pre owned GMTs the prices are ridiculous. Ive seen pre owned prices 10-15k over the MSRP of a new GMT

I’m so sick of all these UA-cam/watch dealers saying: where’d you get that price on chrono and then laugh at you!! But when you ask them for a watch it’s totally inline with the prices on Chrono.

I have been fortunate enough to get a call from my AD to purchase a new sub back in October of 2020 and I’m happy to say I got another call at the beginning of this year and had an option to buy a black dial Daytona. I say all that to say this. It’s nice to get a option from an AD. But if you really want something. Go grey market and pay for what u want.

Just picked up my first Rolex today!!! No date sub , spent 1 year + on the “ Waitlist” with 0 purchase history. My recommendation for 1st time buyers is to visit your AD and make a genuine connection with a good sales person. Check in with the store regularly and don’t give up hope! It can be very frustrating waiting when you have the money to pay for something but trust me, when you get that call it will all be worth it!
Congratulations on the purchase but this waitlist they make you sit on is totally ridiculous. It’s all a scheme to get people to overpay and overhype their brand.
