I have this pedal. It's very flexable, for those who think the highs are too piercing you can always use the treble cut to dial them in. I love being able to dial back the bass freq when you use the pedal with a higher gain setting. Very natural and transparent overdrive.
It's a base for stacking. Flat EQ off clean overdrive that feels great. High switch is intolerably noisy, but keep it on low and hit it with a screamer/Sd1- lovely solo tone. It has been my sound for 2 yrs now 🌴
GREAT pedal showcase! So enjoyable musically, and to examine the various tones of this pedal. I own it but it's not currently on my board. Might change that after watching this.
Hi! I actually just stumbled onto your UA-cam channel from the Wampler website. I recently started playing guitar, though I've been a bass player for years, so even though I'm new to guitar, I'm not new to music. Anyway, I am researching pedals, since I don't own any yet and want to start out with the basics-- I'm already decided on a Big Muff Pi for fuzz, since it has a sound I recognize immediately-- but overdrive pedals come in a dizzying variety and I'm pretty overwhelmed by the many hundreds of overdrives out there. The only thing I have been able to make up my mind on is that I want an overdrive that will compliment my amplifier, which is a Traynor YCV-40 combo (similar in many respects to a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe). I'm trying to avoid an "amp in a box" kind of overdrive pedal, since I like the Drive channel on my amp-- I"m just looking for an overdrive pedal that will "push it" a little further. In your opinion, does this pedal fit that description? My guitar is a Stratocaster with a humbucker pickup in the rear ("bridge") position, so the input filter and bass/treble controls are part of the reason I'm considering this pedal. Great videos so far!
Nice playing henning. Even without your puppy kiana by your side ..lol. Love your vids bro. Keep em coming, California loves ya!, and so does my pedal board, or should I call it a METAL BOARD!,,, YES!
My "always on" pedal. I like it low gain/off clean. Gorgeous with phase 90 script (funk) or electric mistress. Stack into a screamer(I like green rhino) for solos. Why spend daft money?
I know there still might be tube amp lovers, but with modern pedals theres really good tones about! I still remember the shock thou when I first played the Hughes& Kettner 18W tube with a Strat humbuck neck, warm..., BUT: was i ever a JAZZ guitarist, no, and now I hear someone say that jazz guitarists use transister amps, ha! I played my Jazz and Bossa Novas with my Classical guitars, no plectrum but finger(nails), .................. theres amps that imitate tube amps( sound very aritficial), kinda miss that H&K, but I think with my pedals I can get Jazzy with good headroom solid states, I find that with FET- pedals the tone is softer/warmer... cheers , K👌
sold the Nobels, for the Dod has more controls for a warm jazz tone, also keeping the Boss: thou it has no separate bass/treb controls its got a very even eq( only slightly midded), so the usage: DOD for clean warm jazz, BOSS slightly overdrivish jaazy tone!😎👍
very nice pedal,but...I have a tc electronics mojo mojo that does a very similar job at a way lower price point.not taking anything away from dod it looks and sounds great, but just saying...
i have both, and the looking glass IMO is a league ahead, its has more control available in tone options, and the Mojo Mojo has a slightly grainier texture to its gain (which might be what you want). Not hating on the mojo mojo its a brilliant pedal, and very underated, is the lookinglass worth double almost triple the money? , it depends, for me in the way I use it, yes, (i use it like a compressor on cleans the mojo mojo adds a little too much grain and too much bass even dialled down for me) but the way most people are going to use it , only if they prefer the texture of the gain. both great pedals and the mojomojo i would class as a great less expensive option, along with the ehx hot tubes having said all that the DOD Lookingglass is the best OD I have ever played, with the Walrus Audio Mayflower and Trex Alberta 2 coming a close 2nd and 3rd
There's definitely something fizzly/staticy going on in the high end that's not entirely appealing (at least in the video) - not sure if its the amp or the pedal or the combo...
Very different circuit. It's a class A fet circuit that does not utilize an op amp. The TS pedals are not class a, are Jfet, and use op amps for the drive.
***** i didn't know peddle is a valid word. seems like it is. sorry, i do not want to confuse you. i did this mistakes on purpose because it looked funny. so - it's not noice and peddle and tree. what about produKtions?
BigEdWo Peddle means to sell, (sometimes fraudulently) a pedal is a thing you step on with your foot. (I am guessing ENGLISH is not your native language!) As to my channel name, yeah the 'k' is due to the name already being taken at the time I made this channel with the proper spelling!

I have one of these and it does cut through the mix by itself in a live situation... LOVE this pedal!!

this pedal is amazing , i use it like a compressor on cleans, but it does any lo/mid gain sound you could want
You just topped it, number 1 for reviews, content, personality , cheers. I think I've watched bout 3:4 per day since finding ur channel.
I need to get one of these

The Glass thingy is fabulous! The 2 Notes is IMO anemic.

That's exactly how I use mine (sometimes into a Tumnus instead of 'Screamer based pedal).
Cool tune 🤘🤘🤘
FET is the secret: BOSS OD-3, Nobels ODR-1, this LOOKING GLASS even has swinging impedance control!!! spells jazzy for strat single coils!😎

Sounds nice.
This pedal or a Bogner Mini Red or Bogner Mini Blue. Which would you pick?
blue
Animal at the end! 😃
"Fuzzellisch"....12:00....lol!!
Love this guy!
I like it because it sounds usable and it has a chrome shell.
very nice pedal,but...I have a tc electronics mojo mojo that does a very similar job at a way lower price point.not taking anything away from dod it looks and sounds great, but just saying...
You're right after Tc's OD pedals went down to $50 they are hard to beat.

it's the speaker I picked.. it is very bright, more suited for cleans!
Nice, but another variation on the TS, albeit with a more useful tone control!
Liked it!

as far as I am aware its a genuine new circuit, or so Shoe say
Feels more related to a Blues Driver than a Tube Screamer to me…but it’s not identical to either. It has got its own character.
noice peddle, henning. but i don't need peddle. have mustang tree.
Pedal.
***** pedal to the metal \m/
BigEdWo
Hehe THAT too! Just be CAREFUL of who you peddle pedals to! ;oP
