Thank you. I'm 67 years old and have an 18 foot driveway and a 10 foot walkway. I've never been excited about buying something after watching a video titled "don't buy" before.
Thanks for this review. I will be buying one of these blowers this week. I have always been very fit and shoveled my driveway by hand but now that I am sixty retired with arthritis in my shoulder I am hoping this will make my life a little easier.
I live in northern Canada and we get a lot of snow. I bought one this year and it has been a godsend. I have sciatica, so all the bending, lifting and tossing is hard on my back. The only difficulty I’ve had was with our very first snowfall where we got 2 feet + overnight. That was a bit much for SnowJoe to handle. But anything up to say a foot it works great and leaves the walk much cleaner and more even than I can shovel. Gas powered was out of my price range. The SnowJoe was affordable, no maintenance and light enough that I can pick it up and carry it up 4 steps to do my deck. I’m glad I bought it.
Yes, I own this very same snow blower and it's awesome for driveways of reasonable size. Your driveway is HUGE. Agree that a much larger two stage gas snowblower would make more sense for you.
These use a 12 guage extension cord. I bought one thats 100 feet long and made to be out in really cold weather so it doesnt freeze and get stiff. I have this exact same snowblower and it works great for what it cost. But I live in a subdivision so fairly small driveway and sidewalks is all I have to do.
I use mine for the sidewalk between the house and fence--works great! You must use a GFI outlet for safety to prevent shock--but all outdoor outlets these days are GFI, so you should be okay.
I live in PA and use a 30in 2 stage Troy-Bilt blower. Highly recommend. As long as you store/maintain properly - they can last a very long time and IMO are worth the investment.
Hey there thx for this! I have one and it has handled 30cm up here worth...about 12 inches....any higher you have to tilt it up to catch the top half then run again for the bottom half. It's great! My only peeve is the plug in cord part and how it sticks out from the electrical box. It's not streamlined like the 625E. Was using it 3 days worth in 5 degree F weather and the sheathing snapped exposing the wires bare. Got a good zap from it....anyway, swapped it for the 625 and I'm waiting for it to arrive now!
The cold weather cracks the cord from lots of bending action. I repaired it myself when the wires shorted against each other. That required opening the handle and reconnecting a good part of the cord. Also, use a GFI outlet for your safety.
Great Video....I have a SJ 26in model and use it for my massive deck. It does a fantastic job. I keep it inside in the winter in a water tray to avoid it freezing up. Very light weight to transport.I actually used it once on my driveway when there was 3 in of slush. It worked better with the slush than my big gas blower since it blocked up contantly with the slush..I love my SJ ....WN

I’ve been there man. Not with electric but one of the lower end gas blowers. Bought one that covered 6 or 8 inches and all we kept on getting was a foot or an inch. The former was too much and the latter was done by hand. With my next house I’m buying a gas self propelled Honda. I’ll spend 2 grand on it just to make sure it is fast and easy. Just like working on your cars you eventually learn to get the right tools for the job. You need a tractor for your property 😂

@@Jeeper1378 yes prep it by using some rubbing alcohol and clean the surfaces. Then put on the ceramic coating throughout the blades , scoop , chute, anything that would touch snow. It really works , trust me
Just ordered one for the light 3 4 5 inch storms that are not enough for the 28 inch 2 stage gas. Some of those small storms suck for the big machine. This should be perfect!
The SJ627E has lots of plastic parts that easily break. My plastic Chute broke from rocks in the snow and the scraper blade broke when it bumped a loose brick. Also, the replacement parts are always out-of-stock, ('so sorry!', they keep saying to all the customers). I rigged a replacement chute out of a large soup can and may have to construct a scraper bar out of metal--if they don't send one soon.
start down the middle of the driveway and blow out. Don't start on the edges. agree with 2 stage, definitely self propelled, and get bigger than you think you need...
I wasn't surprised when you said to run it in the snow at about 75% of the width of the blower. I have a small gas blower that is about the same size as that. I have to do 1/2 to 3/4 of the blower on the snow for it to take the heavier snow. IF you live where you have big snow then get a big blower. Where I am a little thrower like yours would likely work just fine as long as the power is there. If you lost electric, you're screwed.
I just bought one of those for my 100-150ft drive way. Thanks for the tips especially how you did the cord management mine kept unplugging cause I had no idea how to loop up the plug
I would suggest using a garden hose wheel holder ( to be mounted on the wall) to hold your cord for storage instead of wrapping it around the handle of the snow blower.
I just received my snow joe but I bought one level below this one, I got the electric SJ625E 21" 15 amp blower. Maybe you can answer my question, we had about 1/2" of snow yesterday and knowing that wasn't much snow I thought I'd test my new snow joe. I was very disappointed, it threw some of the snow about 2 ft max but most of what was coming out the shute dribbled out and landed on the machine. Do you need more than 1" of snow for the blower to perform like it's supposed to? The motor sounded very strong, it just didn't throw the snow. Thanks for sharing your video.
@@TommyLGarage Thank you Tommy, sure glad to hear that. My old 18" Toro died on me last week when we about 8" of snow and I had to hand shovel it, I'm 70 and it kicked my butt. Hopefully we get one more snow with at least 3 to 4" so I can try it again. Thanks again, you got another sub.
@@TommyLGarage - then a big gas blower is certainly needed. I live on Long Island, NY and we do get blizzards but my 60X100 ft home does not need more than my 2 stage SnowJoe which clears my 2 car wide driveway and two neighbor’s sidewalks within a half hour. But I had a large Troybilt gas blower which was too difficult to maintain and stunk like Hell.
I picked up one of these on sale at Home Depot. It works excellent on my small property. I’m in Winnipeg so we get 10-20 inches of snowfall at any given time and this Snow joe handles great on my gravel driveway/back lane and does the front walkway easy. I thought the snow Joe snowblower Is run on battery…. Is that the one you have Gspec? How long have you had it? Have you had any issues with the battery? How long does it last?

But it often breaks: cord shorted, plastic chute cracked from rocks in the snow, scraper blade broke in half and last year the auger bearing wore out--but luckily my 1 year warranty took care of that. It works great but use it VERY delicately to avoid breaking the plastic parts.

Snow was clogging it easily, it was having trouble throwing snow far.... and if you want to try to throw the snow straight and not as far it doesnt do a good job with that.... too many problems with the snow blowing back at me. My small old toro electric snow blower did a better job last year handling more snow. I thought this one would be a power house compared to what I used last yr, especially being rated for more snow... but it struggled.
You need to use both at once to see if the other one was better. Snow comes in too many types and its hard to say one was better if the snow was sticky this time.. not saying snow joe is better then any toro because its not. But I paid 160 for it compared to 499 for the cheapest toro I saw.
I bought one of this model 3 years ago. It stop working after cleaning of one season and stopped working in next season. I reported and got a replacement after more than 10 calls and several emails reminders. By the time I got the replacement the snow season stopped. This year I got chance to use my Sun Joe SJ627E Snow blower. It works only few times and thereafter its belt come off after every 1-2 minutes of use. As the belt is very loose therefore it does not through the snow far away that it should be. I called and emailed Sun Joe customer service. The customer service said that she does not know how to adjust the tension of the belt. And she didn't find any instruction of adjusting the belt tension. The email I sent to Sun Joe I just got a ticket number but did not get a reply how to adjust the belt tension. If any one know please post here.

All these people saying buy a big old gas two stage honker clearly aren't comprehending what these units are for. People in areas where they might get 2-3 snows over a few inches a year and or have small driveways there is absolutely no reason to spend upwards of 1k on a big dirty snowblower.
Be careful pushing its limits in really deep snowdrifts! The pulley that is attached to the auger is made of plastic with a nut embedded in it. This nut rounds out of the plastic making the auger not spin anymore. The pulley is not in stock for sale. Sno-jo had it available back in August of 2023 but has been out of stock since. Shame on sno- jo for not keeping this part in stock! A lot of these single stage throwers have the same weak design!
Tip: spray WD-40 on the blades and inside of the shouts to eliminate snow clogging the blower. This works for wet and fluffy snow ❄️

That’s a great tip thank you very much.
If I had your driveway size I would invest in a ATV with a plow.
It won’t work as well
😊 Review
Hope you enjoyed it!
I wear a shield when i use my snow Joe keep the snow out of my face
Good idea !!
Lol no trolling today

Thanks!
Nowhere as good as a gas blower. Leaves a lot on the table
It’s for light duty, not a gas blower.
Lol you need to hire a company for your driveway.
I’m a DIY guy
Snow Joe parts are nowhere to be found, for example SNOW JOE SJ626E belt pulley, in case of failure the machine is to be thrown away. Waste of money.
Absolutely not. I snapped my belt and was able to replace it.
Pain in the ass .
And in the penis
I will never buy another SNOWJOE product in my life. Read the reviews.
I’m happy
you look exhausted
Haha yea
Dual stage is the only way.
I agree. Just bought one
Made in chinia!!!
So?
electric is weak, I got a 420cc Toro that can clear 32"x21" of snow with ease. I don't even have to push
