I fished there about 18 months ago (looks like it might have even been the exact same spot) and hooked onto 2 massive GT's on huge baits. They both busted me off around buoys, but it was good fun. I got one on a Shimano TLD25 and one on a Shimano Baitrunner 12000D. Neither one of them could fully stop them running for structure, even on max drag with 80lb braid. I had one on for a good few minutes, but it eventually made it to the buoy to wrap the line around. I only took reels with me, I bought a cheap surf rod from the shop there for about $25 and it held up perfectly well to full 12kg+ drag on 80lb braid. I hooked both of them within 3 metres of the shore - they come in close in the evening to feed on the scraps and frames thrown away by the charter fishermen. What reel were you hoping to land a GT on?
Ohhhhh mate that's epic!!!!!! Yea I went in the morning and evening just wasn't to be haha... luckily I landed a GT on a charter (vid still to come) I was trying to catch on my Penn Slammer 5500 on a catch topwater rod plenty of drag and a very strong reel & rod could have handled it but you're absolutely right the likely scenario was getting reefed anyway haha thanks so much for the comment mate hope the vid was still enjoyable haha
Yea I know eh!! I've had issues in the past with no updating especially with allowable places to fly but sh!t happens I guess!! Thanks mate it truly was amazing eh. We have another vid fishing on a charter and then... the most incredible fishing scenery I've ever had on a skiff in Aitutaki 👌

@flyingyoung4889 i hope public can use it! But when I chatted to locals before fishing there I wasn't told if was off limits? I assume on a busy day launching boats etc it would get annoying for them but there were none while we fished

Hey mate I'm this case I Firstly hadn't updated the software. Once we managed that... I then got water in my phones usbc port so it roulette connect lol. Drone itself still runs great to this day!
