Rishi Sunak - the Great Loser

  • #rishisunak should never have become prime minister. As he shows daily he is incompetent and out of touch. Sunak follows Cameron, May, Johnson and Truss, some of the worst prime ministers ever. Sunak is like the captain of the Titanic telling everyone that everything is just fine despite the ship sinking.
He is out of touch and has almost no support. Several factions within the #conservative parliamentary party oppose Sunak and the latest, known as Popular Conservatives was launched last week under disgraced former prime minister #liztruss
More than 50 tory MPs have said they will stand down at the next general election. Sunak keeps appearing on television in the hope of becoming more popular only to become less popular. His interview with #piersmorgan was a disaster as was his ill-judged comment in PMQs to #kierstarmer concerning Brianna Ghey.
Sunak must know that he has no way of winning the next general election and that by hanging on matters will only get worse.
Further bad news, three by elections, the May council elections, the interim report from the Covid enquiry and the effects of the new import controls are all likely to make matters worse for Sunak.

The problem with Sunak is that he only knows the life of the elite. Born into money in the Tory heartland, given a private education, banking career, made millions after millions out of a banking crash, jet set lifestyle, billionaire in-laws… and we expect Sunak to actually grasp life living on minimum wage in a council estate in Doncaster?

They live in the relatively affluent south of England (Newbury, Berkshire and Petersfield, Hampshire) so likely not as affected by the destruction caused by the Tories except perhaps access to NHS healthcare and dentists. However, I am concerned about how much money I will need for my daily expenses if I want to maintain the healthy diet I enjoy in my adopted country of Romania where fruit and veg is all reasonably priced and very fresh.

Great talk, Michael, thank you. I have never ever voted for a Tory Government, being opposed to so much of their ideology. Nevertheless, I recognise that in the past, many senior Tory Party politicians, did at least have a degree of intellectual ability, and an understanding of economics, investment, and how international trade is conducted…and a respect for the Law, and even a belief in our Civil Liberties, many also had a certain sense of what counts as ‘honourable behaviour’. All thoroughly, and disgracefully, abandoned with the arrival of the Brexit Tory Party.

I recently watched a documentary made right after World War 2 about how to rebuild Plymouth in the way that would benefit the most citizens. Plymouth of course had been largely flattened by German bombs because of the docks, so there was a large empty city center to work with. I was really struck by the difference in attitude by officials then and the current British political climate. Of course, the british population had suffered so much during the war that the government truly wanted to figure out what would be best for them... Rebuilding housing,
Creating a traffic free high street, Parks for children. There were meetings asking the Plymouth citizens what they would like to have in their city. And of course this was the era when the NIH was created So people could get medical care. It was an example of the best kind of government which reflected the will of the people In order to improve their lives. This attitude does not even exist today. It's a foreign concept. Heartbreaking.

As long as he is in power, he can shovel taxpayers money offshore for himself and his chums. He's going to keep doing that until the last possible minute.

Once again, an excellent analysis of Mr Sunak. Ester McVey spoke on a radio interview recently. She said " People go to foodbanks because they want to." Really? Are foodbanks just a "lifestyle choice"? Like going to Tesco or Aldi? People have to go to foodbanks because they have nothing to eat. I used to work in a Jobcentre Plus: You cannot just go to a foodbank and get free food. You have to be referred there. "Deluded" the key word here...

I've just lost my Dad to cancer. He might have died anyway but the long delays in the NHS seem to have been significant in losing him so quickly. So when Sunak keeps coming on the telly and advising me, with a huge dollop of smugness, that his plan is working, what am I meant to conclude from that? He blames the unions but the fact is there are loads of vacancies that need to be filled. The Conservatives would normally argue that employers have to increase salaries to attract applicants but for some reason that no longer applies to the public sector. What am I meant to conclude from that?
He keeps attacking Starmer for having no plan. Does he really think the Labour Party won't set out a plan once the election is called? He also attacks Starmer for keep shifting his position. But it's right that a leader only spends what can be afforded and so as the economy falters, so the programme has to change. Only in Sunak's household is affordability never a problem, ever.
Meanwhile Liz Truss moans that everyone in the workplace is left wing and woke. She hasn't noticed that almost no one of working age supports this Government. And she might be able to go around referring to minorities disparagingy but the rest of us would rather be polite and avoid unnecessarily being dismissed.
Please can we get rid of them.

Our aircraft carriers are broken down & stuck in port & don't have enough planes anyway. Two navy destroyers bash into each other in the harbour causing millions in damage. Our army is down to 30,000 fighting men, all dead in a month or two on the Ukrainian battlefield. NATO is totally disunified & out of ammo & weapons. Your jingoistic politicians & media are stark raving mad.

He’s hanging on because of the India trade deal. If the deal is made then it’ll make his father inlaw/ his wife etc even more richer. If it wasn’t for the India trade deal yeah he probably would call a GE but he’s hanging on hoping the India trade deal will come through in time just to give his family even more wealth even though they all are very very very very very wealthy but with wealthy people enough isn’t enough they just want more and more and more. Like pigs at a trough never seem to get full just keep sticking their snouts in the trough hoping for more food where as roles reversed you got wealthy people sticking their snouts in the trough hoping the farmer will feed them more 💷💷💷💷💷. Enough isn’t enough for these people. Greed & corruption is a sickness just look at what it’s done to our country. The rich have divided us all to distract us from them making or stealing from us all in the name to get richer hold onto power. It’s worked a treat because we have allowed the elite to divide and tear this country apart just to fill their pockets. Once tories are gone I fear that this country maybe left beyond repair because of how much damage it’s endured over the 14years of Tory rule.

I'm also from '43 and have the same emotions as you when I look at the utter tory manufactured disaster that surrounds us in the UK to say nothing of the impending global disaster that is rapidly unfolding as a resut of man-made climate change and the inability of governments to take any real action since they have all been inflitrated by representatives of the fossil fuelo barons.
