So sorry to hear this. I used to think that the NHS was the best healthcare system in the world, but I have been out of the UK for thirty years. I now think that the US system is better, as long as one has health insurance. I hope that the NHS can be revived, even though I will probably never use it again.

Your job is important, and I sincerely thank you for your contribution to society but medical apartheid isn’t the answer and we can’t expect the NHS to be a perfect service in the current economic climate. 6 hours in A&E is pretty standard and has been for as long as I can remember, we should always aim to improve wait times but we must be realistic with our expectations.

Decent interview Piers, but only scratches the surface of issues people face in the UK. 1. Piers didn’t address the “leveling up” program in the North of England and UK where infrastructure is 100 years behind that of in London etc. Why was HS2 cancelled when there is no alternative transport project in the North on a similar scale?! It will severely reduce economic growth into Crewe, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool etc.. 2. Stagnation in economy and low salaries in the UK based in real economic terms. Against price inflation salaries have grown very little in the UK since the 1990s-2000s. 3. Housing crisis - landlord rents and house prices are out of control. Homes are no longer affordable to most people under the age of 35, why? house prices are incredibly over-valued! The same house built 50 years ago has probably increased in value by 300% mainly because lack of NEW desirable homes; 1-2 bedroom apartment buildings, condos etc as people are having less children or getting married later. 4. Lack of sufficient Primary Care and longer waiting lists at GP surgeries leads to lack of early diagnosis and more serious illnesses, in turn increasing demand for longer NHS hospital admissions / stays. 5. Although he mentioned legal migration he didn’t discuss the numbers entering the UK each year and what benefits or housing is available to migrants. The UK is a small island, that has a housing crisis and is already over-populated. It cannot sustain the level of numbers entering the UK, legally or illegally. It only adds to the burden on public services, such as the NHS, GPS, dentists, public transport etc 6. High UK taxes - every part of individual and business growth and spending is hampered by high UK taxes. VAT is still at 20% why? It should be reduced to 10%. Petrol fuel tax is at 50% and contributes to very high gasoline prices. Road tax what is it for? Most A and B roads are in shocking condition with potholes, even the M6. Income tax bands and NI could also be reduced. Small business rates and taxes could be reduced, with corporation taxes increased.
All 100% right. To fix all of that will cost . Government only has what it can raise in taxes or borrow. Another issue is that although on paper railways, post office, water companies etc are privatised they are not making money. All of that will be heading tax payers way. As you say the population spiraling upwards isn't helping either.

When my husband was in A&E having breathing problems after collapsing, a copy of his ECG was sent to a major heart hospital. Well sorry about that, but if you research into it, an ischaemic event is a heart attack. There's two types of heart attack: a STEMI or NSTEMI. Only a STEMI shows up on an ECG, so it's very possible the ECG was normal and he was having an NSTEMI. The only true way to rule out a heart attack would be if they took a troponin blood test twice three hours apart and the results were normal. If they didn't do that, then you should speak to a lawyer and sue whoever was taking care of your husband
Ischaemia is restriction of blood flow, myocardial infarction is the heart attack due to lack of blood flow. His death certificate reads ischaemia/myocardial infarction. He was under medical care in 2 hospitals for almost 7 hours and no one had a clue, or if they did they didn't tell me until 2 minutes before he went into cardiac arrest. So sorry to hear this. I used to think that the NHS was the best healthcare system in the world, but I have been out of the UK for thirty years. I now think that the US system is better, as long as one has health insurance. I hope that the NHS can be revived, even though I will probably never use it again.
I don’t see why being a nurse should mean you get special treatment on the NHS. My mother worked for the NHS for 50 years and regularly had to wait in A&E with me and on occasion for herself and she’d never be so brazen to believe she deserved to be treated ahead of a fireman, a plumber, or an office worker.

PM VS PM IS A CRAZY TITLE
Thanks pierce morgan for these major interviews!! These are needed!
It only adds to the burden on public services, such as the NHS, GPS, dentists, public transport etc
@@ingramfinance9773 If the tax payer needs to pay for these, why are they private in the first place?

I explained id been shoved down a corridor for the last 9 hours, so how am I able to hear my name called out ? The receptionist had a bad attitude, she asked me if i want to go back on the list, i told her i need to see a dr now as i felt really ill and frightened as I was close to passing out, i asked her how long before i see a dr and she said 6 hours minimum. I didn't have the energy to wait so i asked to be dropped off home as i had no money for a taxi, her words were you'll have to sort out your own lift home as its not the hospitals responsibility, her attitude stunk, I said sarcastically not a problem I'll just walk the 3 mile walk home. What risk is that? Apart from the financial burden. Id like to take it up with the likes of France who don't want to stop them coming here and all but offer a pump to inflate their dingies.
@cazc5200 what's going on is quite clearly a national security risk and a threat to the citizens of the UK. We have people entering the country (mainly men) and they are being placed into our communities right now, as i speak, whilst the authorities try and work out who these people are and what their backgrounds are. We also have a huge industry (HR Lawyers, charities, ngo's, churches) trying to keep people in this country who should not be here and are a threat to the people the UK.

I actually have the lowest level of pride that i have ever had in Britain. It's not necessarily all the recent tories fault, as labour left one hell of a black hole in the economy, evidenced by people's reluctance to allow labour back, but the level of corruption in the UK must be huge, tens of billions get spent on military, police, NHS, but it is all poor and underperforming. I want a new party to try now.

Only a STEMI shows up on an ECG, so it's very possible the ECG was normal and he was having an NSTEMI. The only true way to rule out a heart attack would be if they took a troponin blood test twice three hours apart and the results were normal. Speech always has consequences..it’s just that most don't see it. If you speak honestly, calmly and without attacking some with a different view, you will have more peace of mind, less people hating you and you have self respect. What did you expect with a tory governmnet that is morally bankrupt and literally out of ideas. The result is the people are no longer 1 but split into different groups many of which have zero balanced ideas and just extremes!
yea nah, being proud of your country is "racist" in 2024. far better to find a way to be a victim and cry about it. That's where we are it in 2024.
Patriotism is a virtue of the vicious - Oscar Wilde
He is a very good PM. I have seen very few PMs so open and honest about their promises and key policies. He should be given more opportunities in the future to work for the UK.
Not agree with you

I was one of those people waiting 12 hours of more in 2023! No lie they were literally coming around with tea and sandwiches because people are waiting so long! Its this that makes me so pissed when people throw shit at striking NHS workers. If you have seen how hard they work even in the face of such dire circumstances I would happily give them pay rises over big business, corrupt mps and a wasteful government busy fighting itself! THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU RISHI AND NO ONE ELSE!
One should also consider how many people are in hospital because of their lifestyle. The 'fat man of Europe', the 'sick man of Europe'.... I moved to the UK in the early 70s for a few years and am back most years. I am always disappointed that there is so much drinking, so much smoking, a rampant drug culture, people way over weight and way out of shape.... Take those people out of the equation and the NHS would probably be fine.
You right. “The ££££’s “bucks” stop AT them!”
@@MrCherryJuice Whereas I totally agree the alcohol culture in the UK should be addressed but it has ALWAYS been a part of British life and yet you still moved here. It really shouldnt be all that surprising but in general I do agree. Many dont realise but alcohol is literally one of the most dangerous drugs period. Its one of a few where withdrawal can kill you and is one of the most addicitve. Ironically in many ways it is worse than heroin. The numbers simply do not lie!
Exactlyyyyyy!!! They’ve been increasing taxes on everything and are even taking NHS charges from immigrants but will refuse to fund helathcare and will instead fund genocides!
Just cuz u see piers being gentle to sunak, the reason is they are all from the same group they have the same masters and on the same payroll.

Both countries which consider 'domestic' to include lands from all their neighbours 😂

Great interview and felt Rishi has his fingers on the pulse, aware of the challenges and is engaging in a pro active way.
We need to support Rishi into a next term when elections comes around.
Most of the mp’s need to taken to court for there failures by the people for all the corruption, lies and incompetence.

With regards to inflation, the PM should assess what is the root cause of inflation not addressing the symptoms.
Well the root cause is somewhat international in cause and somewhat out of our control.

A very impressive interview. Rishi Sunak is doing a brilliant job turning the disastrous situation the UK has been in since before he took office. Well done Mr Sunak!
“I have never seen a victim putting their oppressor under siege and bombing them 24/7”
Rishi Sunak is giving his heart to improve things and he partly is. He does not need this job, as he‘s rich. I suggest you support him. Think about the two predecessors ! 😬
Agreed. A tough job that in financial terms he does not need. I inherited a dire situation, the sort of thing nobody can fix within a few years. It's a matter of changing the system, not just dumping more money into it. And that means good/better people with initiative and who care, not the bureaucratic wafflers that populate so much of the civil service and the government.
Yeah, no reason why why a rich person would want the most powerful position in the country.

This guy is more worried about the Cargo delays while completely ignoring the Mass Genocide that's taking place as we speak !
He isn't responsible for other governments. The cargo ships affect his counties of course that is a greater priority. Stop expecting the west to protect terrorists governments that use their civilians as body shields. He also mentioned that his negotiations have resulted in more aid for Gazans so wtf do you want him to do? Start a war with Israel? You'd love that wouldn't you? I haven't been able to find a single Palestine supporter that doesn't hate Jews . I suspect you're no different and want the world to turn on Israel. Typical terrorist sympathiser.
I mean they are quite about grooming gangs. That's literally their own daughters who fall victim to that. So I don't expect them to speak against Hamas or other Palestinian terror orgs.
@fearlessnoob47 US, UK & ISRAEL are the biggest terrorist org. in the world, you come to the Middle East , steal our oil, carpet bomb entire cities, kill over a million Iraqis, totally destabilize Afghanistan. Snipe 9 year olds live on Camera in the West Bank, & get surprised when one terrorist attack in Paris, London or Israel occurs.
The Audacity to call us Terrorists while you have killed over 30,000 Civilians including 18,000 children in a span of 100 days & continue to snipe 9 year old children, Grandmas & Autistic Palestinians in the west bank is Jarring !
Mass genocide, where? ICC already ruled Israel has the right to defend themselves.
Mass genocide? I seriously can’t understand this, so Israel doesn’t have a right to defend? Why don’t you call for Hamas to surrender? They are the one who brought this war to its people. Apparently they don’t care about them and here we are, people blaming Israel for defending themselves
Rishi grinning at the photo of Piers’ mother lying in hospital is one of the reasons he will never be in touch with the uk public.
I'm a supporter of sunak's blue army, he came into power pissing against a hurricane and has made progress, but like he also agreed on the A&E situation that needs addressing ASAP.
Agree
the more i look at Rishi's face the more it reminds me of Mr Potato Head
Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I feel like far too many people here commented within the first few mins, before watching the entire interview.
Annoyingly Piers did spend a lot of time at the beginning playing footsy with the PM, but over all I reckon he did a decent job of grilling him on the 5 pledges.
Roll on the general election!
If PM says he's talking to Bibi to allow aid to go into Gaza, doesn't that condridect the Israeli defence in the genocide case? when they said that Egypt, who's stopping aid?
Lots of contradictions! UK, US & Israel all want us to believe Satanyahu is simply defending his country. One look at Gaza flattened to the ground, including hospitals, will tell you otherwise!
2 mp’s killed in 8 years so he wants a bodyguard for every one of them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He said, "he wanted to be a different type of politician” - when he's overpromised and underdelivered like most politicians. 😂

Genocide of the Palestinians over he last 80 years was a pretty bad one too.
It is awful the gaslighting that’s happening. Everyone with eyes and a brain knows who the aggressor is!
No it does not. Israel did not instigate a brutal massacre against a neighbour. If people want to support the Palestinian people, they should do so without losing their moral conscience.
If you support Israel massacring 27,000 people, mainly children, then I question where your moral conscience is@@noahbrock349

It's not the NHS bureaucracy its that the Govt won't provide the trusts with enough money to employ more.
