@@arisyttt New York City is by far the most diverse, most inclusive, most creative, and my favorite city in the USA. I was born in California, and I have lived all over the US and abroad. @user-tq6ns7cg8w LA can get easily expensive, most theme park are like $100 per day per person...A weekend getaway at Las Vegas will probably be good and easy on price....
I love NY!! There are so many different aspects to NY, it’s not just Manhattan. You have all 4 seasons. NY builds some of the strongest people!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
NYC Born and raised. I had to commute from the Bronx to Manhattan for high school every day. I was completely burnt out by graduation. Growing up there does something to you. Like everyone else who grew up there, you develop a hard shell with sort of deadened emotions. The exhaustion is real. People shouldn't have to live in a constant state of vigilance. It damages the soul and the nervous system. I finally was able to move north to the country and lived there for 14 years before finally being able to escape the northeast entirely. Best move ever.
Most people can grow accustomed to anything. I think you just weren't able to and that's fine, I agree it can be a lot. But vigilance just becomes 2nd nature after a while. But even stuff like the noise, I moved to the suburbs in Florida and could not sleep with the silence. I'm back now and maybe it is that break and you are right that I will get burnt out again but as of right now, I'm not trying to leave again. I left a few times because that's what I thought I needed but I'm older and wiser and I wanna build my future here. As for the shell, yeah, seeing homeless people constantly will do that. I like to give when I can but if I give to the first homeless I see, am I gonna give to the next one? Or the one after that? If I gave to all of them, I'd be the homeless one. So it becomes easy to ignore them and the drug users after a while.
I also took the train from the BX to Manhattan for high school school. The SAs were crazy, which is why I mean mug damn near every man I see. I never felt burnt out though about the fast pace or movement bc I didn't know anything else. BUT I went upstate every summer for camp, then I went to college down south and saw life could be different. Eventually, I moved to New Orleans bc it' reminds me of NYC, but with 6 months of summer, friendlier people, and a much better cost of living. But I wouldn't trade growing up in NYC for anything. I'd move back if not for those 3 things...and the rats, ewww... They weren't as bad when I lived there as they are now. .
The idea is to be cultivated in such an environment like NYC which develops and ready you for the world. Why New York is most sought after destination of parents in the states. The key is knowing when to spread our wings and fly. Most fortune 500'S give internships to students out of NYC schools. New York leads the way, with 13, given birth to the most US Supreme Court Justices over the past 221 years in America. Including the very first, John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Court.
The part about NYC that we rarely talk about. A week before we sat down for our interview, I was actually admitted in to the psych ward due to a severe mental health breakdown that was caused by burnout and other issues. Thank you for your vulnerability and sharing this story.
The pressures of being an entrepreneur can weigh heavily on your mental health, leading to overthinking, increased stress, anxiety, burnout, and depression. The air pollution in big cities can also impact one's mental health. Great video!!
What was not mentioned is NYC has 5 boroughs consisting of 51 Council districts throughout the five boroughs are each represented by an elected Council Member. All have a unique level of distinction like Abuja is to Lagos in Nigeria. It's insane to think one can visit NYC in 30-days without a well though-out plan to visit a different borough of NYC each day. To review NY state would require another 3-months at minimum. The small district in Brooklyn in the video was in Jamaica Town. New York City alone is so vast that many New Yorker living there have never visit other boroughs themselves. To some it like taking a week-end trip, a getaway vacation.
Moved to NYC in 2021, absolutely loved the big city life idea until I tried building a community. It was extremely hard especially as someone working from home. Ended up moving to Seattle. It's not better but the nature all around helps a lot. Great video Tayo.
I left Seattle for Washington DC. I found people in Seattle cold! If you didn’t grow up or didn’t go to school there, people will just avoid you. The weather didn’t help either. PS: I’m not an outdoorsy / nature person so Seattle didn’t work for me.

Anytime I go to NYC, after 3 days I am ready to fight back home. It's too overwhelming for me. Too crowded, lots of walking, it is sometimes chaotic. I love NYC but just for a very short period.
I always felt an urge to visit New York city from seeing it on TV throughout my life but when I finally got to visit it was honestly such a stressful and underwhelming experience. Dirty streets, dirty metro, drug addicts and homelessness everywhere, pressured for giving tips for literally everything etc. It's sadly not as romantic as we'd like it to be. NYC third generation born and raised. I love the hustle and bustle. But my favorite ways to unplug are to get on the water. Walk on a beach. Ride any ferry. Take a boat ride. Kayak on the Hudson. And ride horses, equestrian style, not western. If you are experienced and the stable knows you, the ride is amazing because you can go out and explore on your own. You don't have to leave the city to do any of these. Although there are endless possibilities if you get away of course. I learned how to focus and to block out/tune out the noise. Hi Tayo, I lived in NYC when I first moved to the US as a teenager. About less than a year, my entire immigrant (Guyanese) family moved to Schenectady NY (within the Capitol Region of NY). Now I call Schenectady my home. It is quiet, much cheaper than NYC and Guyanese immigrants like myself, built our own community. I love NYC, and visit to have fun, but I head back to the Capitol Region when I feel drained. It's the soundtrack at the part of the helicopter ride for me. Depicts peace of mind to me. So soothing and relaxing. Amazing content. Thank you Tayo 🇳🇬🇳🇬
New York is more than just the city. So many small towns in the Empire State to see and visit. As a Canadian living close to Buffalo, New York it always amazes me the beautiful nature all around. Whether on the American side or Canadian side. Next time you come over try and see other parts of the state or visit Canada 🇨🇦. Glad you had that experience as it is a great lesson on learning about personal boundaries. Take care my youth, One Love 💛💚🖤
I get it. I was born and raised here. Honestly, things were notably less crazy back then than they are now. But I’m seeing that a lot of places I’ve been. New York has great energy but times are hard for people so they behave in ways they wouldn’t normally. Hope you give NYC another shot when life gets a little bit more sane 😄
@@TayoAinaFilms We're getting over the 'shut-down' still it seems after the virus hit! For me the thing I'd always loved about being in Manhattan was the multiple small music venues.. Jazz.. so many amazing musicians and singers .. Not happening so much now unfortunately.. And SO dirty everywhere as you discussed. Great review. Thank you!
I moved to NY City when I was 12. It takes time to adapt. I have never lived in Manhattan - only Brooklyn and Long Island. I stopped working in Manhattan in 2015. I only work in Queens and Brooklyn. It’s a more comfortable and quiet existence. Manhattan will always be there when I need it, so I don’t need to be there everyday.
There is a difference between countries who entertain tourists to survive day to day. In NYC people really work and not everyone is standing around entertaining foreigners but you do have to get out of the city to get some emotional and spiritual sanity. I work in NYC sometimes but live in NJ and I do feel that way in NYC it’s so much going on and your senses are constantly heightened when you’re there. It is exhausting.
It's overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time...And things and information seemingly hitting you at such ferocious pace and if you don't have your tribe as the wind below your wings to push you to greater heights, then bouncing is best.
Love your videos Tayo. I lived in NYC and just outside NYC most of my life (I’m London born). I would take long walks “ every once in a while” at the start of the day to experience the city before it gets super busy/super crowded. Never imagined I would love NYC so much however, as I got older, I permanently moved “just outside the city”. I work there so I get to enjoy it then go home.
Tayo story telling is so good, I will love to see him in the same video with Kelly Wakasa in NYC. I feel like they have similar pattern in story telling and yeah they get to do what excites!!!
Im from Florida i moved to NYC in 2014 ,its very different but i have no regrets its home to me and i think in this moment i wouldn't want to be anywhere else .Im going to Nairobi so i will see.

Thanks for sharing. Maybe one day I will check it out if I make it to New York anytime in the near future.
Tayo ,cI saw your first video New York and I was really impressed not only by the technical quality but most of all by the honesty and sincerety of the people you interviewed. My first time in New York was so overwhelming. It was like a different world … literally like a jungle and I was ready to go lol HOWEVER on my 3rd visit I LOVED IT!!!
I loved this particular video because of how honest and real it was! It humanised everyone involved and serves as a reminder that we're all just doing our very best, at the end of the day.
Hey Tayo, I just wanna say as a born and raised New Yorker you truly inspire me as a creator of color and you don’t sugar coat anything….a lot of creators come here and talk about how great it is in order to get views but it’s a very dark place and can be very lonely and expensive and don’t get me started on the winter!!!
I'm assuming that Lagos would be more overwhelming than NYC. But you are right about being around a lot of people and feeling alone. It wasn't until I left until I really started opening up.
Watching your videos make me want to visit different countries around the globe, when money comes .... I'm gonna tour around the world man. Great work you are doing 👍❤❤
I miss being in NY i always feel so alive with the variety of things to do. Moving to the suburbs its a different speed with not much to do and lots of driving everywhere. I would love back but the cost of living is keeping me away
Totally loved this vulnerable part of you Tayo, totally enjoyed and could relate to it. And also Weldone Tayo, you’re doing so well that’s why it’s this tough. Loads of love brother🙏🏾
Not sure why, but this video actually makes me WANT to visit New York, maybe even move there! I’ve always loved my visits, but perhaps I need to stay longer-term to get tired of it.❤

Fail to plan, plan to fail. No worries, if at first you don't succeed, pick yourself up and try again. There's always next time, come back better prepared with the experience of this first visit. Great Job though 👍👍👍

It's the soundtrack at the part of the helicopter ride for me. Depicts peace of mind to me. So soothing and relaxing. Amazing content. Thank you Tayo 🇳🇬🇳🇬
Thank you Tayo ❤
New York is more than just the city. So many small towns in the Empire State to see and visit. As a Canadian living close to Buffalo, New York it always amazes me the beautiful nature all around. Whether on the American side or Canadian side. Next time you come over try and see other parts of the state or visit Canada 🇨🇦. Glad you had that experience as it is a great lesson on learning about personal boundaries. Take care my youth, One Love 💛💚🖤
What a legend.... Great job Tayo!
Haha, I will try my best to give it another shot in the future!
Thank you!
I'm honestly loving the wholesome content ❤
Thank you. That will be cool 😁
Great video Tayo! I love seeing the world through your eyes. Hope I'll be able to see it with my own eyes too someday
Tayo to the 🌎🌍🌏 I’ve been following you for some years and all I see on your recent videos is GROWTH! Well done 👏🏾many many more!
The green environment is lovely.
Im from Florida i moved to NYC in 2014 ,its very different but i have no regrets its home to me and i think in this moment i wouldn't want to be anywhere else .Im going to Nairobi so i will see.
7:15 - I spent much of my life living 15 minutes from the New York State border and have drived through the state on many occasions. Never did I know about this park you've shown us. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Maybe one day I will check it out if I make it to New York anytime in the near future.
Tayo ,cI saw your first video New York and I was really impressed not only by the technical quality but most of all by the honesty and sincerety of the people you interviewed. I am again impressed by this new video. I know you have been learning French so I turn now into this language: Tayo, la qualité de tes vidéos et surtout la subtilité, la sensibilité et l'intelligence avec laquelle tu abordes des sujets qui touchent réellement ceux qui regardent ta chaîne méritent l'admiration. Continue à nous inspirer et nous instruire!
Tayo Aina you're among the powerful new generation that showcase their continent and their country. You are living your dreams traveling blogging and making money. Without any Jappa.
he finally japaed
@eminiola7131 I read about it. He wants Portugal. Actually he want to wrong country. Portugal have huge economic problems. Many Portuguese and running to former Colony of Angola, and Mozambique
That's what's good about LA. You can find nature really quickly and disconnect from the city by going on a hike
The saying, You can make it in New York…You can make it anywhere! Mexico City is Overwhelming, too! Safe Travels 🙏🏿🙏🏼🙏🏽
My first time in New York was so overwhelming. It was like a different world … literally like a jungle and I was ready to go lol HOWEVER on my 3rd visit I LOVED IT!!!
Complexity, so much to choose, so many options, simplicity a dream. The vid is super.🙏
I loved this particular video because of how honest and real it was! It humanised everyone involved and serves as a reminder that we're all just doing our very best, at the end of the day.
👌🏾
I love to see our men talk about wellbeing and brain health.
I love how Tayo like to reunite with his people.
My african men, take examples on Tayo.
I'm from the 216 and I pass through NYC every now and then, NYC is definitely not for everyone. You either make it or try at the very least.
I agree with all of the above. And to emphasize...The winters are brutal. So cold. lol
@@jrt2792 yeah, you make it here you make it anywhere!
@@IBeLady definitely not fun when you have to wait 20 minutes for a train and its 10 degrees lol
Tayo you don't just show me places, you take me there. God bless the day I subscribed to this channel
I'm assuming that Lagos would be more overwhelming than NYC. But you are right about being around a lot of people and feeling alone. It wasn't until I left until I really started opening up.
It was good u left, the city flooded yesterday
Watching your videos make me want to visit different countries around the globe, when money comes .... I'm gonna tour around the world man.
Great work you are doing 👍❤❤
This was delightful and refreshing to watch. Thank you Tayo❤
Thank you for everytime Tayo
Your consistency is admirable, Tayo. Well done❤
Mr Tayo Aina, you re undisputedly an A LIST vlogger, I av watched you UK vlog & ur NY vlog I gat somethings I need I really ❤ & Appreciate you, KUDOS
Creating a content can be so exhausting like for real. no matter the level. Weldone tayo.
If you can make it here you can make it anywhere ❤
Not sure why, but this video actually makes me WANT to visit New York, maybe even move there! I’ve always loved my visits, but perhaps I need to stay longer-term to get tired of it.❤
As a New Yorker, this is a great video. It motivated me to continue looking for opportunities outside of this city 🙏🏾
N.y.is a great place to visit for about 4 days ...the side walks are 15 feet wide for a reason.
Hey Tayo, fellow traveller here....content creating can be sometime stressful......I'm still trying to load all my Amtrak travels from California to New York on my SM platform, and keeping down a full-time job as a teacher in the UK, and preparing for my upcoming LAPLAND trip in December....your videos are highly engaging! Keep up the good work and maintain a work life balance!
Fail to plan, plan to fail. No worries, if at first you don't succeed, pick yourself up and try again.
There's always next time, come back better prepared with the experience of this first visit.
Great Job though 👍👍👍
So NY is essentially a tusher version Lagos. I'm a city boy - born in London, raised in Lagos, so I understand metropolitan living. Still I cherish a good ol' breather in nature. Cape Verde is high on my to-visit list !
As a new Yorker this video helped me gained perspective and feel more.grounded . Thank you
I go to Vegas every year and the energy there is COMPLETELY different from NYC. Vegas is relaxation and having fun. NYC is work work work work work work work work work work work work stress stress stress stress stress stress stress
Come back to NYC soon! Always a pleasure to have people such as yourself be here. It's what helps make this city so special - NYC native
Bro Tayo you are making Nija proud, THE MOST HIGH FATHER SONINI NANINI is with you always...watching you from Canada
I love how you put your videos together
Sharing the bustling and the enjoying part of it
And finally ending it with a touch of hope and possibilities
You’re the best

Great work Tayo. I have seen your growth. Keep pushing and remember to take a break as needed, mental health is a serious issue. Your friend Sophie is pretty!
I like that I can travel with Tayo. Anywhere he’s been, I’ve already been😊
Just looking at this video felt like therapy for me. Thank you for thoughtful and candid insight.
❤ to you, Tayo for sharing these amazing experiences.
Shout out to the transparency
Glad you found your community😊..keep shining brightly
I’m glad you got out of there Tayo before all this flashing flooding!!! Bee blessed!
This is definitely a more well balanced video in comparison to the first one I saw that you did about NYC. Hope you were able to take a mental break and relax.
Tayo Aina keeps inspiring ❤👍🏽👍🏽
I'm glad you found out that it wasn't for you early and you can travel abroad to find a place that suits you better
Asa native New Yorker it was refreshing to view it from your perspective as a first-time visitor. I've been following your channel for quite some time, and you were one of my inspirations to start my travel company and visit the entire African continent. Travel well, and travel often!
