I also will wear all black in the summer… but idk if long sleeves and those pants I could do.. esp in 128* it gets pretty hot in Oklahoma but not that hot
@@opietaylor5778 haha fair enough. Since it’s a dry heat here the long sleeves actually feel cooler than short sleeve for me. But for humid places like Oklahoma I wouldn’t want to be wearing long sleeve
@@orlhandt yes, there will always be a sign that says no fishing but in the state of Arizona there doesn’t legally have to be one in order for it to be private property. As far as I’m aware the only ones off limit is the Roosevelt and some sections of the CAP canal but the CAP canal sections are all fenced off so you can’t get to them anyway.
Hey man, i used to miss hooksets when using denser baits (like sausages) because i didnt leave enough hook gap after baiting my hook. The point of the hook should be exposed, and there should be space between the shank of the hook and the point, and you 1000 percent either need way bigger hooks(for that size of bait) or a way smaller bait(for that size of hook). The way you hooked the sausage would be great for soft baits that barely stay on the hook, like chicken liver.
lol I’ve fished all these types of Spots here in az . Sometimes it’s just too dam hot to get a bite. Or you get a migraine cause the heat and glare from water and have to tap out but when you get bites it’s great

@@djdanny627 the year round water temperature stays cool enough for them to survive in the other canals, but down in Phoenix it gets too hot year round and the fish just can’t survive. I wish we had smallies in the canals here 😭
Tilapia wouldn't like our waters lol, Many of the fish I catch prefer water temps below 55. For example, if you want to catch Lake Trout in summer you'll need to get far below the thermocline, usually 60-80 down where the water is still cool. Our fish would pretty much all die in the waters you were fishing... I would die also fishing in that heat haha.

Try sinking stuff and floating stuff, if you are not after any specific species I would use hotdogs, corn, bread, or worms as bait. Fish flowing waters, dams, spillways, bridges, and shaded areas. Pretty much anything with structure. You’ll get them!
It was part of the Roosevelt Canal which apparently is completely off-limits, I have no idea why that stretch of the canal is illegal and the other ones aren’t but that’s the only one I’ve had problems at
@@Jordymonn it’s a tough one to get used to for sure. I did track and cross country in high school and our training was every Monday Wednesday and Friday outdoors during summer. After all of that running in 110+ sitting still is a breeze for me. The humidity kills me though 🤣
@@alakiattar7469 usually with hotter waters the fishes metabolism speeds up so they need more food to maintain weight and therefore are more active. This is the same reason why they tend to slow down during during the winter, but too much heat can also be bad can be too hot to want to move around and stuff. Thanks for watching!
Fishing in Phoenix Arizona during the summer months is not even fun. Alamo lake, lake Pleasant, Bartlett, horseshoe and Roosevelt lake are just as bad during the summer, you can't escape the damn heat.

Not that it’s a competition, but the average temperature in Coachella from June to September last year was 93.9. The average temperature in Phoenix from June to September last year was 95.2. Phoenix is hotter than Coachella so “that’s nothing here” is incorrect 😂
I wonder if peacock bass could thrive in that environment. I never use bait, My tackle company is literally called ALO tackle (Artificial Lures Only). Yep. Roosevelt is a no go (but you can physically get to the water in them) as well as the CAP canals (but they are heavily protected and have their own enforcement- you cannot get to water in them.) The SRP canals are all fishable and SRP actually encourages it. The fishing is hit or miss and varies by time of year/location/dam releases, etc.
Phoenix is the hottest larger city in the country. Doesn't cool off at night for nothin. Don't rain for nothing. No clouds for nothin. Bro I'm from Tucson it's brutal up here in Phoenix. One, the canals are not huge bodies of water, consistently taking fish out of it would deplete the population more than you would think. Also a lot of the water likely contains chemicals or is reclaimed waterso it’s probably not so good for you

I’m currently working in Bakersfield last week temps where 108/106 degrees & there is no way I’d be fishing out in that heat.

@@KingNorcalius I have a couple times but I wouldn’t recommend it for two reasons. One, the canals are not huge bodies of water, consistently taking fish out of it would deplete the population more than you would think. Also a lot of the water likely contains chemicals or is reclaimed waterso it’s probably not so good for you

@@fearlessaegis the person who told me about this spot said you couldn’t fish past the metal fence, I learned this day that fishing was off limits completely.

@@Mandarin110631 I was fishing the Roosevelt Canal which I guess is 100% off-limits for Fishing. Not sure why exactly but their signs posted everywhere, I probably shouldn’t have been there in the first place
