Ay, thank you so much for that. I don't always get it right on videos, but I try my best to make them useful for folks without over simplifying/complicating matters. Appreciate you, friend 🤝
I don’t normally comment, but your videos have been so helpful and informative. Had to subscribe! I do HIIT, moderate weightlifting (around 200-250lbs), and short runs. I picked up the Altra Solstice XT2 after seeing your videos since I have very wide feet. They were comfortable training shoes but the durability could not last for me. The outsoles began peeling within the first week. I’m thinking about getting the Nano X2’s but I’m worried about width again. Do you have any other recommendations? Should I continue with the Solstice XT2’s but try some shoe glue?
Thank you! Ah, the dang outsole durability...the downfall on this model. If Altra won't replace them look into the Topo Athletic ST-5 - they've been exceptionally solid.
Epic video. I am not as calculated as you are when it comes to shoe sizes but my findings fit your analysis! I have slightly wide feet and I had to size up 0.5 for PR5 and TTS for nanos. Now I’m trying to buy Tribase 4 and I’m conflicted with sizing. I can wear both TTS and +0.5. Unfortunately your video says I could go both ways as well lol. The only difference between the two sizes is that for the +0.5 I can fit my index finger between my heel and the shoes heel but I can’t in TTS. Does that mean anything for training/cross fit shoes?
Not necessarily...with training shoes and sizing them, I take the approach of considering your comfort + training style. I don't really vibe with the "one size fits all" sizing takes, tbh. For example, that index finger width may not be an issue for lifting, but if you're doing a lot of jumping and notice you're sliding around, then it could be something to consider. That being said, I'd think about how you plan to use the shoes and then cross-reference that with which model feels more comfortable naturally. That should help at least provide more direction with the size that will work best for you. And thank you!
@@stevewort why so upsetty. I always tell folks to go do a Brannock scale or have their foot scanned. “Real” foot size guide on amazon - you know diff companies use diff sizes guides, right?

Hola, Qué zapatilla me recomiendas para el gimnasio. Puma LQDCELL METHOD 2.0 o Nike MC TRAINER 2? Soy principiante. Gracias.
Hi my foot is 11.15 cm x 25.6 cm
should I size up .5 or a full size for both nike and reebok pls?
TTS in the Metcon 8 and half size down in Nano X2 are generally safe bets if you have a neutral width foot!
Then you for all your time and effort for us junkies 😂. Sincerely though, thanks!
I don’t have a problem…you have a problem! 😂😂
Hope it helps 🤝
Did you get your R.A.D. One triple-blacks? 😁
I did not. I spent way too much on other shoes/gear this month, LOL.
Totally get it.
Guess what just got dropped off? 🤪
I'm 4.25 wide and looking for a budget friendly and my very first daily trainer. Please help lol
Look into the Altra Solstice XT2 and see if you can find them on sale! They should be wide enough and deliver a pretty good well-rounded performance.
Nanao 8 ftw
How to measure your foot? Go to a shoe store and ask them to measure your foot! OR go buy a real foot size guide from Amazon.
