    Architecture is infamous for handing us tons of work - ALL THE TIME. Usually, what ends up happening, is that we start to lose interest in some of the work. All this work that we don’t want to do begins to pile up, and then we have a huge problem: we enter this perpetual cycle of needing to catch up, therefore the work we do is uninspired, and just plain CRAP.
    The simple solution is just doing the work. That way you won’t enter that vicious cycle. But let’s be honest with ourselves : sometimes, we just don’t feel like doing all the work. For example, some of us love building models, others like to render. Some of us like to develop plans. We have no problem doing what we love to do. The problem comes when we have to do what we’re not really interested in. Sometimes you’re okay with working on things you don’t want to work on, but you get completely turned away when you realize it’s a long list of things you don’t actually want to do.
    Tell me if this sounds familiar. Person A, let’s call him… let’s call him Pigeon. PIgeon needs to do some work ; he’s gotta work on a project. He’s been pushing this project around all week long, but now, he’s run out of time. He turns on his computer to begin the project, but all of a sudden, he’s grown super tired. So he decides to take a nap, and then he rushes his project when he wake up. I don’t know about you, but Pigeon used to be me ALL the time!
    Luckily, I’ve gone through this way too many times and over the years I’ve figured out a system that will pretty much work for anyone, and now I’m showing it to you. It’s gonna take a little bit of getting used to, but if you want the system, you’re going to want to head to my website and pay one small fee of
    just kidding, just watch the video:
    By the way, check out the description on this video; there I include links to our chat and social media, apps, products and books I recommend, and anything else that’s important at the time!
    Now, On to the system!
    There are 5 parts to this system
    We can think of it like an acronym! First we have the F…. then we have the U… then we have… OKAY! NO! NEVERMIND; THERE IS NO ACRONYM. Let's switch the order around. Hmmm… that doesn’t look any better…
    Stop Relying on your memory
    Utilize a list
    Combine Simple & Complex Tasks
    This... is not looking much better…
    Find your Trigger
    Kill the Distractions
    Those are the 5 steps that make up this system.

    Hey, great video! In architecture school i fall victim to procrastination all the time, in sitiations were i let work pile up or just don't feel like doing it what me and my friends do is that we get together somewhere, or video call, to work on our individual projects in section we jokingly call coworking. I do a to do list of what i have to get done that day so i dont get lost and what usually happens is that we talk or listen to music while working and it really helps not to get overwhelmed, plus we can help if someone needs it even if we're not working on the same thing.

    Is Macbook not a great laptop for an architecture student

    • @Moochers
      @Moochers  4 роки тому +1

      There are MANY people that will tell you that Macs are good for architecture. I am not one of those people 😂 ... I think Macs are great for editing video, photos, etc... which definitely can be helpful in architecture, but other than that, you're better off with a windows laptop. I've never had a Mac but a good few of my friends back at school had Macs. Little by little they would start to switch the Macs out for Windows. Sometimes it was because of limited compatibility of programgs (they tried using bootcamp/ parallels - but it wasn't worth it to them they would mention). They agreed that Macs were great all around but for architecture, their computers felt sub-par when compared to windows.

    Do you recommend the dell XPS 15 7590 for heavy architecture work like rendering and 3D modeling?

    • @Moochers
      @Moochers  4 роки тому +1

      It depends which version you get (how much ram/ storage type/ Processor). If you get the XPS15 aim to get the highest RAM (atleast 16 gigs) and the best graphics card you can get; for this, to get an idea, go to VRAY's graphics card benchmark website and see how the one you want scores on it.
      For heavy rendering I suggest you use cloud rendering.
