All of the complaints I've seen about the Mario movie didn't really have anything to do with Chris Pratt's politics. All of the complaints I've seen are more because Mario has a voice actor already. Charles Martinet has been voice acting Mario pretty much since Mario had a voice. So it's just a direct slap in the face to the guy that's been playing Mario for decades seemingly for the sake of star power for a character that is arguably far more well-known than the high-profile actor voicing him.

That's what Rob missed. The Lion's share of the complaints are that his voice doesn't seem to fit the character. Even some of the more left leaning websites are more concerned with that than his weird politics.

Yea, well known gamer UA-camr, Maximillian Dood, started the #FreeMvC2 campain to get the attention to reviving those games back. Being that Justin Wong (multiple champion of this very game and many other fighting games) has been on the hustle perfecting this game, it is assuring that he is the motivation among many other newbies who want to play this real famous game. Yea, I hope a resurgence of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 happens... heck, even many before it, to the very beginning, "X-men: Children of the Atom".

Honestly Rob, with regards to the Mario thing, all the points you mentioned are actually the small complaints. The major thing is that Charles Martinet isn't playing the voice, whose been the voice of almost every iteration of Mario for over 20 years. I still am excited for the movie and think Chris will do a good job, but that's honestly what the majority of the complaints are. At least from what I've seen.

As for the Marvel Lawsuit, most likely it can happen is the similar case that DC Comics did with the Siegel-Shuster Families. Not a biiiig terrible thing like many are thinking. So, let's not worry

Nothing wrong with being religious. But people should keep religion to themselves in hollywood. If you want to be religous than you should never join a industry that is about free thinking and opposite of religion. I grew up as a Christian and thats what I believe. Otherwise if Hollywood blacklist his ass, thats on him.

Rob great theory as usual, lot's of deep cuts. I'd love to think WB would be willing to allow the DCU to portrait Red Death but I've been scorned to many times. Hell I'd kill for a nod at the Batman Who Laughs... My theory is that that suit is a nod to Flashpoint Barry Allen changing the timeline, then finding Tim Burton Batman in the multiverse and since he changed the timeline in which he has no suit or his ring maybe the '89 Batsuit is lent to Barry & then just "customizes" it.

I like the old Mario movie too man, no worries. I see it like this, it's a terrible video game movie. It's a great 90s sci-fi movie. Also she played princess Daisy, not Peach. Gotta be said.
I loved the dark angle. The gritty world. If it didnt have all the references to the game series. It could have easily been its own thing. Then you had Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo (Who is 57 btw... crazy. He was the young face in that. 29 in that film.)

I see the whole Chris Pratt thing as “eh” I mean I understand why people were upset like how Mario’s OG voice actor wasn’t in the role.
But then I saw them complain about his politics, and preferences, and I was like “oh come on, your kidding me” even his staunchly polar opposite opinion costars came to his defense saying, “we know him personally, he’s a sweet guy, leave him alone”
Them saying he’s automatically homophobic, transphobic, etc. because of the church he goes to is a ludicrous accusation. that’s like saying, “oh I go to church, so I must be transphobic as well” that’s just ridiculous.
And before anyone tries coming at me with the whole, “oh he backed up the statements himself, yadda yadda yadda” I know.
But the point is someone’s own personal beliefs don’t define how they act or treat people. Chris has believed this stuff all along, and had been around his costars who believed the opposite, and yet they still came to his defense when all this crap came out, doesn’t that say something.
It probably means he’s an actual genuine nice guy. Yea he could be different behind closed doors, but it never affected his work, he was never hammering his own beliefs in any of his roles. At least not ones were his character was that kinda person.

Chris Pratt in Onward was very nice. As an older to three sisters with an absent father, it was felt quite surreal.

Even though I do support Chris Pratt playing Mario, the only issue I have with it was the additional announcement that Charles Martinet THE VOICE of Mario as a cameo role. If Charles wasn't even mentioned by Miyamoto I think alot of people wouldn't have thought anything of it. Alot of the anger has subside of the announcement since and people have returned to meming the announcement as usual. Fun fact Chris Pratt was supposed to be the main human character in the Sonic movie.

Chris is dope 🤘. I don't want to lose seeing these supers but at the same time I want the families to win because Marvel, DC is about pushing identity politics and woke virtue signaling rather than thinking of the fans, that is secondary. People go after others who want a white to voice a white guy, not a black voice, voicing a white guy. But those same people don't want a white guy voicing a "white-enough" fictional character. It has nothing to do with race, it has to do with politics and what his beliefs are or rather what they assume his beliefs are or twist what they are for their own personal agenda. Chris is a good actor and will be great as Mario. N64 and Sega Genesis, let's go. WandaVision was underwhelming because it slowly got better and I love sitcoms. But the ending blew and then Kevin said they dropped Dr. Strange because they didn't want the white guy with power showing her how to use that power.
I love DC & Marvel (blasphemy, i know) and it's honestly depressing to see the state of their film franchises. They have the rights to all the characters but they aren't doing anything with them or are making poor decisions. The black Kal-El/Clark Kent rumors are disturbing, I would rather see Val-Zod. I really don't care that Chris Pratt is playing Mario. It could have been worst...way worst than Chris Pratt. As far as the original Mario Bros movie, I have to concur with Rob, it is both nostalgic and a guilty pleasure. Although, Rob it was Princess Daisy not Peach in the movie. Plus, isn't Mario and Luigi Japanese Italian since Shigeru Miyamoto is their dad???

Mostly I could care less about his personal beliefs. Not sure why you would have to support something to continue to have a career. I can pretty much guarantee you that they are people in Hollywood who say they support such movements but do not. I'm sure he doesn't approve of a lot of things in this world but is that any reason not to allow an individual to continue to work. Not everything has to be accepted

Chris Pratt as Mario, the Italian argument is flawed as you can argue that he should be played by a Japanese person as he was invited by a Japanese company (I don’t think this is right or should actually happen) the whole point of actors is to play people they aren’t, it would be like saying only an alien can play the role of superman.
About what he may have said I need citations because multiple times in the past people have tryed to get him cancelled for stuff they believe he has said or for stuff they think he is thinking but hasn’t said going as far as to photoshop images to back up their claims, they were later proven to be fake but in today’s world we are so busy been outraged that people never bother to check stuff out or ask WHY? Maybe he supports that church because of the great work they do for the homeless or veterans or a hundred other reasons but no one actually knows because they have never asked him in a civil manner, most people that ask a question about the subject will ask a leading question because their trying to trap him they don’t want to know the real answer, they have already made up their mind they just want to be proven right no matter if it’s true or not.
I’m not a religious person I’m mostly anti religion but they do have a few good things to say, let he (or she) that is without sin cast the first stone, most people would be surprised how meny people are automatically discounted from ever been able to throw stones, if your watching this video your out, do you use Amazon or Apple? Your out too, how about Disney or Warner brothers (or almost any Hollywood studio) literally almost every person that can freely make up their own minds that lives in the modern world has or is actively supporting something that most people would think is wrong, scummy or underhanded (child labour, sweatshops, slavery, concentration camps) it’s all there it’s just not directly related so that lets us sleep at night.

I had an uncle/aunt/cousins that my family would visit occasionally during my childhood. We'd usually stay for the weekend when we visited. They had an enormous movie collection and a small home theater setup in their living room, and a decent game collection for NES and SuperNES and eventually Nintendo64. I was the only boy there of my generation, so sometimes I would do my own thing, which usually meant video games alone. Sometimes I'd just hang around while my dad and uncle were watching a sci-fi movie or stand-up comedy. A few times though, my uncle would be gaming and I'd watch him play. Uncle was a proficient gamer, whether cards, board games, or video games. I learned how to play Super Mario Kart better from watching him. And eventually, Mario Kart 64 would become *-THE GREATEST AND BEST VIDEO GAME OF ALL TIME-* one of my favorite video games. Though I'd play Nintendo often, it took me years to ever find the courage to ask if I could watch a movie of my own choice. When I did finally ask and was granted permission, I felt like I'd just been given the keys to the kingdom. Walls covered with shelves of VHS tapes. He had every movie worth owning and then plenty more. So first, I watched Super Mario Bros. Then, I rewound the tape and watched Super Mario Bros. Then I rewound the tape and watched Super Mario Bros. Then I rewound the tape and watched Super Mario Bros. Then I rewound the tape and watched Super Mario Bros. Then I may have lost touch with reality. But, I got my fill of Super Mario Bros. _the movie._ Yes, this was one of many banner-worthy days for the hall of triumphs. And though this particular banner may be tattered and frayed now, it remains, ever grateful for the light shone on it today.
So what I'm saying is Chris Pratt is awesome, the whole cast is awesome... some decent writing and a splash of water in the face, I'm ready for whatever the new mario brings. Let'sa go.

9:05 there was a demo for shinobi 3 on the PS1 (I’m sure it was this game) that I could never finish the first level, it was in an airport so I’ll get this just to see if I still suck at that game (I probably still do) echo and golden axe are also games I’ll probably be getting.
