Man just figured out Bill passed about 3 years ago. He was a Vet aswell. RIP Bill and Thank you for your service!
Oh man. That’s very sad. I just left him a query and after it posted, I saw this comment. Sharp guy, Bill was.
Ah, hell, what bad news. He sounded like the kinda guy I'd want to have a couple of beers with. What's frickin' weird about this is his videos will live on and help others for a few more decades.
Awesome! Glad to hear you are back up and running again.
Thanks Again for Watching!
Thanks so much for your video. Of all the Maytag Dryer no heat videos, yours is the most thorough and pinpointed my problem. Again, thanks a bunch!! 😁
Thanks for your instructional video, well done and is perfect! Because of your video the ignitor replacement fixed my gas dryer! Thanks again!
Thanks Devil Dog! Great video. I will start troubleshooting according to your instruction. Semper Fi!
Excellent video! Hope I can get our dryer to heat. It does run but no heat. Thanks for sharing!! ☺☺

Hey Bill thanks for the email it was the motor I was able to get another one install it ended that dryer is working fine now thanks to you thank you very very much
You’re awesome and so knowledgeable
Sounds like a bad motor. I bet it doesn't start up right away. But after it sits for a while it starts back up.
Let me know if that sounds right.
Thanks for Watching!
Thanks for the tutorial!
I know this video is 8yrs old, but yours are the most coherent explanations.
I have a mle2000ayw, the blue BU connection on the dryer timer melted off completely. The dryer will run, but no heat.
I appreciate your help if you can.
Thanks!!
thanks for the video
Awesome! Thank you, I appreciate that greatly.
I have Samsung dryer and the thermal fuse blow after 10 - 15 minutes .. everything is clean inside .
I been trying diferents brands thermo fuse.. can you help me?
Bad ass video! Thanks for sharing this info!

formation..
It's a Milwaukee Cat.No. 2237-20
Thanks Again!
Thank you for the great video. Question, when you hooked up the meter you showed it attached to the thermostat on the upper right side of the housing, however, where was it attached to on the bottom left side? Is there a switch or thermostat down there or was it attached to the frame? Thanks again for all your videos.
My dryer seems to work fine except it remains on a fluff heat. I followed this video and so far so good. I also replaced the infinite heat rheostat and the timer module. If the thermostat you mentioned first in this video has continuity does it mean it is working fine or could it still be restricting the heater from getting hotter? What could my dryer's problem be?
Dude, you nailed it. Awesome, to the point video and easily understood. Lighting, audio and clarity were all on-point. I've subscribed. Wish I could've seen how you removed front cover of dryer, ours is maytag electric GDI603. Any idea what the "I" stands for to indicate electric?
btw: what model meter is that? I really like how easy it is to see the display.
like the meter good display i have to get one
Great video, have shared it on our site, thanks!
Hey Bill, I have a maytag mde16pddww . The dryer runs but does not heat. I checked all thermostats and the motor centrifugal switch. All check out. The purple wire does not have power running through it. The Dryer Relay W10133335 is mounted in front of the bottom of the dryer. and only has power coming in one black wire but no power coming out the other. it also has 2 orange (I believe low voltage ) wires. I think this relay is the culprit. What do you think and how do I test it?
Thanks in advance
Well that sucks, looks like I have to tear into it again, I have a beautiful Maytag A106/DE106 set built back in 1979! Both clean and rust free, though both have a few chips in the coating from over the years.
What voltage is the relay coil for the heater relay. I'm measuring 11v ac so I'm assuming a heavy duty 12v ac coil relay would work as a replacement?
Super
this is the exact same dryer as my mother's who I am visiting and learned that her dryer has not been working (runs without heat). Can you please show or confirm that you lift top before removing front panel? I am unable to lift top tabs and this video does not initial steps to remove drum in order to test continuity going to heating element?
I have an older model similar to that model. how hot is too hot for the heating element?
Question- I have a Maytag dryer that is running but not heating for a very long time. I had it on regular dry and it stayed on all night without shutting off. in the morning the clothes were finally dry with little heat. Any idea why it would stay on all night and why it took 8 hours to dry?
Mine did the same thing when it was running on the auto dry setting. I assume it has to do with whatever sensor in the system not detecting the right heat/humidity so it just keeps running. Maybe without the heat, it won't ever get to the right conditions to turn it off
Could you help me. I have that dryer. You move the heat knob to what heat level you want. But it only puts out high heat or no heat. nothing in between.
can the dryer actually overheat and if so what can cause the dryer to get too hot?
Have you heard of an electric dryer that heats but not well? or is it just heat or no heat? What could be the problem of poor heat?
Hey bill my drier has a burning smell and it's cutting off. What do you think it is
Working on a Maytag LDE512 checked and get continuity on item 3-04474-2 and 30-4475-2 and item on heater housing.
I don't get 10 when I connect to the heater terminals. I get continuity.
I do have 220 from the wall at the back terminals of the unit.
The unit turns but no heat
Any ideas
hi , have a question I have a old maytag dryer and it heats up on timed dry but nit auto dry , there is a blue wire at the bottom of the dry that is not connected to anything and I'm pretty sure this is why , but I can't find where it plugs into
How about a video on the same dryer but GAS operated.
First time watching this/ only video… question…
Dryer runs, but takes 3-4 cycles to dry. I feel heat, and the overheating sensor works. Now what?
what if it is heating intermittently? Dryer gets hot, but clothes dry very slowly, may take up to 6-8 hours! We cleaned out the vents and replaced the tubing connecting the dryer to the vent, it's winter so we can see the heat coming out of the vent outside, but it still takes a long time for drying. Any advice?
In the case that you find the problem as to why the dryer is not heating; then, how you go about finding the part that needs to be replaced?
I got a 1979 Maytag, the yellow in color type model # GDG 309. The glow dilly gets red hot, BUT only fires up the gas sometimes. you'll hear a click sounds, them gas comes on, but sometimes it'll click and go dem without the gas coming on. any info for anybody on that.
knowing how to change the drum out would be helpful
Maytag Performa dryer, MDE2500AYW, has worked great the 18 years we’ve had it and I beleive I can get another 10 out of it.
This January the jumper wire on the heater element burnt up. I replaced it and the dryer started heating up again. Two weeks ago same wire burnt again. I’m thinking is there something else. Heater element looks fine no damage, no rust or cracks in the coil. I would like to send you a picture I took.
I get .02 on my heater. Does that mean it's bad.
What if it runs & heats but trips off circuit breaker? Runs on fluff but that's without heat?
You know I'm just a Gerber when it comes to fixing appliances but that white thing you just called a thermostat I'm pretty sure is fuse and not a thermostat. According to the electrical diagram
I checked the heater and I have volts. My dryer runs but don't have heat.
what make is the meter bill could not make it out on the video
Mark Moss I've never run into this situation but can you bypass a thermistor?
How does grounding both leads show "it's a good heater", What you did should be a full ground! and Ohlms showing full residence and your gauge isn't even reading residence when you do it.
you didn't hit any heater terminals of the coil.
Should have put ELECTRIC in title.
+anderkris ah, my things to do list. It's on it.
Welcome to 21st century. Everything is electric. Even cars are becoming all electric. No need for dirty fuels.
Dude how do you remove drum lol big skip
It’s electric not gas. ⛽️
