Thank you so much for your great detailed directions. I was able to follow every step you said easily and clearly and fixed the dryer for less than $36. A friend told me they spent around $400 for the service call, inspection, parts, and labor. I appreciate this video so much. Great job!

Wow!! Our Epic Maytag dryer stopped heating last Sunday. We've had it for 12 years and assumed it would be expensive to repair and might have to buy a new one. Came across your video on Monday and ordered the part from Amazon for $34.00; gotta say I didn't expect much for that price but when the part arrived, we installed it easy-peasy and were back in business by Thursday! Thank you so much for this video and for walking us through the "HOW" step by step. Much appreciated.
I had came across your video and I truly appreciate your instructions how to replace heating element. I mean you described it step by step so well. You’ve save me a few hundreds dollars. Thank you!

Excellent, very methodical explanation! I really appreciated the detail.
Thanks glad you liked it. Hope it helped you out
I was about to comment on the very detailed video as well. Some just get on and go thru the motions and be like, “take these screws out then this, then you yank er out n put er back in like at right there, then plug er back up n we good!” 😂😂😂 ummm nah, we ain’t good boss! You did a hell of a job though.
Thanks
Your a lifesaver dude. Thank you.
No problem! This is what I like to read.
You are awesome for doing this, especially after you already did yours. I have to do this job later and it's greatly appreciated. Ugh, not looking forward to it but this will definitely help. Your detail and step by step will make it so much easier. Thank you so much!!!

@@MattFreytag well I am attempting to do it now and for some reason my whole heating element case won't come out. It seems like it's attached to something in the back. Hmm. So aggravated.
@@wildcatt417 just look for more screws or maybe it’s clipped in to something. Sorry.
@@MattFreytag will do and no need for you to be sorry at all. Thank you!!
@@MattFreytag wish I could post a picture but part of the housing appears to be behind the drum wall. Have u ever seen that before?
Thanks for your video, very helpful.
Great. Im glad i could help. Thanks for watching
I appreciate the video. Gonna replace mine tomorrow. This was actually a whole lot easier than I thought it would ever be. Well, I’ll let you know that after tomorrow😂

Excelente video thank you your video help me a lot thanks again
Your welcome thanks for watching
Good job buddy
Thanks!
Thank you so much sir. You are a life saver. Would you know where i could find replacement parts for the red wires that connect to the thermostat and the element?
Im not sure. Probably just search online. Glad this helped
I looked didn't find anything else. Your the man and if you made it I should be fine. Spot on video on Maytag dryers I'm changing out mine this weekend. Thanks again
awesome
Thanks 🙏
Thank you so much!!!!
Glad the video helped and thanks for watching.
Great video
Soooo I did everything in this video and still no heat😢
Sorry to hear that.
What a well explained video. What happens when you have a drawer on the very bottom of the dryer? Do I have to remove the drawer first? Mine has a drawer on the very bottom.
Thank you for the kind comment. I really don’t know about the drawer without seeing it. I would assume just to remove it as-well. Hopefully you can find a video on that model.
We did it. It worked. We didn’t move the drawer at the bottom. We did have trouble putting back the heating box since it had the rib on top that somehow had to get into the hole but finally worked. Thanks for your detailed explanation.
Great to hear!
Hey Matt any way that I could get shocked changing out the thermal fuse, thermostat and the heating element even if it's unplugged?
Im not sure on that one. Im no expert in that field. Sorry bro!
Great video wish you had detailed which wire and how to remove at 2:57 I couldn't figure it out.
Sorry bro. No way I could remember now. Thanks for watching.
Seriouslu dude do you pull them out, do they unclip, cut them? They wont budge.
@@zeeshandogar9406 yes the just slide on. Like male and female connections. Prob a little hard to get off. Wiggle the connector side to side while lightly pulling.
@@MattFreytag thanks, that worked.
@@zeeshandogar9406 always take a picture of your wires before removing them. That way you will be able to look and see which wires go where without having to remember. I was lucky enough to have a pic of the inside of my dryer on my phone because I recently put new wheel bearings on and changed the blower wheel. I couldn't remember which wires went where and then I remembered I had a picture from a few months ago!!!
WAS THAT NUNBER U GAVE AT THE BEGGING ON THE HEATING ELEMENT?
I believe so
I have a series 5000. The heater does not seem to pop right out. Any advice?
I wish I could help but I have no experience with that model. Thanks for asking.
@@MattFreytag , thank you. In case anyone asks, I figured it out. The difference is that there is a back attachment that you just have to wiggle really hard to get loose. It will be hard to get back in, but not sure it is necessary. Other than that, it is very similar. Your video was very helpful.
@@gymfun948 That’s awesome. So glad I could help. That’s the reason I make these videos.
There is a clip holding it in. You can either rock the assembly around and yank it out (what I JUST did) or maybe take the back panel off and see if you can get at it that way (which may require removing the top and maybe the control panel, not sure) . I yanked it out and a clip fell off. I ignored it, replaced the heating element, cleaned it all out and put it back together. It works. I made sure I jammed it back in real tight and screwed it back down.
Is there a parts number? For this heating element?
I am sorry but I don’t have or know the part number. Thanks for watching.
I can't tell which wires to remove
Im sorry I really don't remember without being in front of it.
Is the 2000 model simliar?
I’m not so sure.
@@MattFreytag it is very simliar i got to taking the front screw off of the element unit and removing wires, but something is catching.
@@MattFreytag it is the same... gonna take it to the shop tomorrow. 😀😀😀
Nice
Is this gas or electric dryer?
Electric
