If you are wondering why the movie turned out the way it did, the Writers Guild Strike from 2008 is largely to blame for this as the strike began just one week before production was about to begin. The screenwriters quickly had to write down several key battle scenes and important plot details before the strike went into effect. So Bay and his crew had to film the written-down scenes and then wait until the strike was over so that they could write new scenes to connect the ones already shot, which resulted in the cobbled-together mess that is known as Revenge Of The Fallen. Proof: m.ua-cam.com/video/ykA_PNwYCuE/v-deo.html Don't worry: Dark Of The Moon and Age Of Extinction are way better, but I hope you can survive The Last Knight, that one was worse than this one.
Last knight was bad but had one of the best scenes in the bay tf movies. Referring to the we were brothers one scene and honestly had the heaviest meaning for those who know their backstory and the fact that they both feel inside still in some way did still acknowledged each other as friends or rivals
Sorry but the conditions movie and tv companies set for writers is what is to blame for the writers strike. Michael Bay is to blame for this mess of a movie, as he told Rotten Tomatoes at the time he wrote the script for the movie because "I'm not going to let the strike take me down." Which means he could have delayed the project but he wanted to meet the release date Paramount had set for the production. Paramount is to blame for setting a release date before the production even began. Kurtzman and Orci later said that he used the outline they wrote down in those two week before; later they added in "a joke here and there". So they are still to blame for at least some of that. The strike itself and the strikers are not to be blamed.

They dont. Forest battle and final battle of tf1 are good. But most of them are so hard to follow. Every review ever talked how the action is hard to follow.
I get how you feel about this movie as an adult, but if you watched this as a kid like a lot of us we didn't care about the story we just liked the action
Loved it when Soundwave showed, and getting Frank Welker (the original voice from the 80’s cartoon) to do it was wicked awesome. And that version of the voice is what he used for Dr. Claw in the Inspector Gadget cartoon.
Idk why so many people dont like this one because I think its the best one. Thats also what i heard the most so its surprising that so many apparently dislike it.
One that I played was on the 3DS, something about a titanic transformer working for Unicron trying to destroy the matrix of leadership. Can't remember the name of it though.
I used to love these movies as a 12-year-old, looking back on it now I can see that I definitely loved it for all the action and unique characters and definitely NOT the story Interestingly enough this was my favorite movie in the franchise as a kid
Yeah personally i think the story in the first one was actually really solid. The third one too, that also had a pretty good story. Both of those were able to blend plot, comedy, seriousness, and action really well. The rest of the movies were more just cool action, mediocre plot at best. 4 was alright, 2 and 5 were horrendous in terms of story
I love how during the whole movie he keeps being so bi-polar. At the beginning there was a bunch of action and he says "let me breathe" then it gets slower and he says "give me action" then the movie goes back to action and he says "I'm so sick of explosions" the movies probably off to the side going "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!"
I enjoy the movies, but i love the first one from 2007 and Dark Of The Moon, those two are the best. But BY FAR my favourite Transformers media are War For Cybertron and Fall Of Cybertron, easily two of my favourite games of all time! I highly recommend anyone to play those.
We also kinda don't get introduced to the newer autobots except for Sideswipe, Arcee Sisters, and The Twins. But there's that blue car at the end who I think is named Jolt but that was the first appearance I ever saw of that one in the movie so I feel like some of the characters were underdeveloped and others got more spotlight. But overall I loved this movie and the franchise. All the movies hold a special place in my heart
can we agree that nobody hates revenge of the Fallen because they think it's "bad", they only hate it for the unnecessary jokes that are made in it or the offensive lines aswell. but personally I love it
The old looking decepticon who got his guts opened by scorponok(I think that’s the scorpions name)is jetfire, like the 1985 carton was also a decepticon then turned to autobot
I always loved how Jetfire gave his parts to Optimus because they used to combine with each other at least in the mid 2000s cartoon shows (Energon, the planetary keys, etc.). Can't say if they did in the OG cartoon since I've never seen it.
I understand that not everyone may like this movie but this is what my childhood and i still love this movie to pieces and that won't change. Im also happy that I see others who have enjoyed this movie as much as I have and that we'd die fighting on our hill to protect this movie. Marmite situation, you either hate it or love it

I love how Optimus gets Kellaway to shut up toward the beginning of the movie. "Freedom is your right. If you make that request, we will honor it. But....before your President decides, please ask him this: What if we leave, and you're wrong?"
There are two MVP Transformers games called War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. They’re sadly over ten years old and don’t have any ports but they are amazing.
9:44. There are indeed transformers games and some damn good ones at that. War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron are such good games and they really hook you with the story, pacing, and scale of them. Definitely recommend
This is actually my favorites, behind the first one. I literally watched this every night going to sleep for a month and a half. And that was 5 years after it came out.
9:42 yes, there are two Transformers games on Steam I´d recommend if you´re a fan of the franchise: Transformers: War for Cybertron and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. (on this one you get to plays as dinossaurs). Both have excellent single player campaigns and both have multiplayer modes. Not as many people playing the multiplayer, but on weekends quite a few people still show up on the servers.
Bro it’s definitely not good but make up your mind 😂. When it was all action you said it was too much and you needed to breathe. The action stops and then it’s “all filler” and you want the fighting to start. You want them to quickly solve their issues because it’s taking too long but then when optimus prime comes back and takes them out quickly, you say that it’s too fast and that the buildup was too long for something to happen that quickly. You were very very flip floppy in this video
They really did The Fallen dirty in this film. Michael Bay has said he didn't want to fight to end so quickly but they were running out of time (both in filming and post production). Realistically they should've made him just teleport away and possibly come back in a sequel (lol revenge of the revenge of the fallen).
So the main issue with this one is that right when it went into production there was a massive writers strike in hollywood and instead of waiting it out Bay went and just filmed stuff so they had to write around what he filmed so it resulted in a disjointed mess.
Havent seen your reaction yet but I'm so excited to watch will say this story is a little questionable but the cgi transformations and action is what we are here for! Really recommend the 1986 Transformers Movie just so you can get a taste of the Orginal vibe I feel like you can watch that movie without much context of the show
The fallens head If you didn't catch it , is the Deceptacon symbol pretty much...I still have every figure that came out with this movie and the first one.. Crazy how time flies .. My favorite figure it's probably a leader class Jetfire SR 71 blackbird massive figure ,You can combine it with the Optimus prime I have
Dude for sure it got annoying. He's like , pacing bad, too many explosions, too long like oh my God ship up, i couldn't even enjoy the Jetfire sacrifice
I think because I saw this film when I was younger, I didn't mind it as much. Rewatching it through your lens, I can definitely see your point! When I was younger, I just remembered hating all of the dog scenes. But I definitely didn't remember much else; the original one is definitely the one that has stuck with me the most, though!
The story felt so sluggish, but as a kid, it really didn't matter. That's why Transformers is a big part of my childhood. Not as good as it is now compared to when I was a child, but it's still a good franchise to watch for pure action
Hey Seb!! I´m sorry you got bored in the second half. It´s true that Michael Bay explosions can get boring and the writing wasn´t that good in the second half but I personally enjoyed the full movie. I am really hoping you will react to age of extinction and the last knight. Optimus is so badass and cool in these and the other autobots and decepticons as well. Trust me when I say this they are overhated.(Sorry for the long ass comment just wanted to tell you my opinion) Thank you for reading! :)
this guys rreactions make no sense, at one point he complains about too much is happening and then not alot is happening, then complains necessary story beats as filler. the only thing you can call filler is the twin fighting of devestator. thats probably it.
Revenge of the Fallen isn't a good movie at all but I have deep nostalgia for it since I was like 7 when the promotion and such started to happen. I had this poster that had a checklist of all the toys and I tried to get them all came pretty damn close to it aswell. I definitely see all the issues people have with it hell anytime I decide to rewatch it I just skip most of it and get straight to the good moments (i.e. the Forest Battle). I hope you give Dark of the Moon a shot its infinitely better then this movie still not as good as the first but still better then this one and serves as a good enough ending to the Trilogy do yourself a favor tho and skip Age of Extinction and The Last Knight and go straight for the Bumblebee Movie which is a soft reboot which is getting a sequel later in 2023 called Rise of the Beasts I hope it's good. Also be sure to check out some of the shows like Transformers Prime and Transformers Animated those really give some insight to what this franchise can be.
Mark Ryan the guy who voiced Jetfire ( and also voiced Bumblebee when he speaks ) got them to leave the word bollocks in by telling them it meant something entirely different and they bought his story .. story from Mark himself .. great bloke 👍🏼
I believe that Revenge of the Fallen's sorry state of release was largely due to the writers strike back in 2008 or so. The writers essentially gave Bay and his team the major plot points, and they were left to make up the script day by day as they filmed. A lot of the cast are on record saying there were no written lines at the start of most film days. It is difficult to fully blame the writers strike, considering the next three though.
Yes there are Transformers games. They are: Tranformers 2007 game Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Transformers: Dark of the moon Transformers: War for Cybertron Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Transformers: Rise of the dark spark (these are the most famous ones...and basically the best)

They dont. Forest battle and final battle of tf1 are good. But most of them are so hard to follow. Every review ever talked how the action is hard to follow.
And the story of these movies make action scenes even worse. Awful cuts and to many explosions.
I get how you feel about this movie as an adult, but if you watched this as a kid like a lot of us we didn't care about the story we just liked the action
but yeah movie's weak
@@TheQuiteStealtH no
2:32 “did he just kill it, we didn’t even see it?” *car gets sliced in half down the middle
Loved it when Soundwave showed, and getting Frank Welker (the original voice from the 80’s cartoon) to do it was wicked awesome. And that version of the voice is what he used for Dr. Claw in the Inspector Gadget cartoon.
This is honestly the first time i have ever seen anyone watch a transformers movie be like: “Too much action. I just want to see someone chill”
Ever since the first reaction I've been waiting for this
The quote "BUMBLEEBEEEEEEEE" is nothing without Sam witwicky
Idk why so many people dont like this one because I think its the best one. Thats also what i heard the most so its surprising that so many apparently dislike it.
Yes they actually do have Transformers games-I used to love one for the 360.
One that I played was on the 3DS, something about a titanic transformer working for Unicron trying to destroy the matrix of leadership. Can't remember the name of it though.
Transformers 2 on console is easily one of the most fun games from that era
transformers war for cybertron on ps2 is my favorite game of my entire childhood
@@BlackbirdSJ I still play it today with many others it truly is one of its kind
@@xanthiusdrake2775 It was Transformers Prime the video game. I had it for the Wii U and it was my favourite game I had for it.
I used to love these movies as a 12-year-old, looking back on it now I can see that I definitely loved it for all the action and unique characters and definitely NOT the story
Interestingly enough this was my favorite movie in the franchise as a kid
Yeah personally i think the story in the first one was actually really solid. The third one too, that also had a pretty good story. Both of those were able to blend plot, comedy, seriousness, and action really well. The rest of the movies were more just cool action, mediocre plot at best. 4 was alright, 2 and 5 were horrendous in terms of story
Same
@@hdudhehdhd2222why was 2 bad
Another reaction you let everybody else's opinion affect the way you watch the movie the first and second will always be the best
You mean the third
You have WAY to high expectations for a franchise that comes from literal 20-30 minute toy commercials...
All the movies hold a special place in my heart
can we agree that nobody hates revenge of the Fallen because they think it's "bad", they only hate it for the unnecessary jokes that are made in it or the offensive lines aswell. but personally I love it
Idk about that. What offensive?
The bad reviews was just g1 fans and their alt acounts
Uhhhh no. Unnecessary jokes or offensive lines are definitely not the only problem in the movie.
Marmite situation, you either hate it or love it
the transformers movies are hit and misses with everyone i appreciate him taking the time to watch the franchise despite the fact the films have so many plot problems and over use of BAYsplosions, great franchise with great lore. Bay just did it wrong.
The funny part is that this is possibly the begining of Optimus on Cold Blooded Psychopath personality
Haha it was making me so sad seeing you point out all the flaws in the film cuz this was my favourite film as a kid lol. Love your vids as always Seb :)
I love how Optimus gets Kellaway to shut up toward the beginning of the movie. "Freedom is your right. If you make that request, we will honor it. But....before your President decides, please ask him this: What if we leave, and you're wrong?"
The first one is my favorite by far but I definitely like Dark of The Moon and Age of Extinction a lot as well
24:37 That Munchkin joke is even funnier, when you realise that actor played all the Oompa Loompas in the 2005 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
There are two MVP Transformers games called War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. They’re sadly over ten years old and don’t have any ports but they are amazing.
There's a more recent one called Rise of the Dark Spark
@@sufiyanzaheer1446 we don’t talk about it
9:44. There are indeed transformers games and some damn good ones at that. War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron are such good games and they really hook you with the story, pacing, and scale of them. Definitely recommend
Great reaction mate as always 💯👍 looking forward to your “John wick” 🔥
You Landed on my testicles.
Seb: what's wrong with that?
Me: she landed... On... His testicles.
My heart hurts just hearing the on part.
I actually liked the second movie the most out of all, then the first.

This is actually my favorites, behind the first one. I literally watched this every night going to sleep for a month and a half. And that was 5 years after it came out.
Is this movie bad? Absolutely. Do I love it? Absolutely
Just a reminder. This movie came out in 2009. I've literally not seen anything (Avatar 2 might be close) to have CGI this epic.
Lol the way he went in this movie hopeful and open minded, and by the end he was losing his sanity 🤣
"That's honestly a bad intro" yeah real open minded and hopeful 🙄
@@DiggitySlice the opening made no sense so of course he would complain about it and his complaints are justified
15:00 To quote the 1988 Pretenders commercial "Pretenders look human, but..." "Pretenders hide the Transformers inside."
“Where’s the fighting?!” Also “too many explosions” hmmmm
Fight scenes and explosions everywhere are 2 different things
The last one you asked which bot was our favorite. Mine is sideswipe. (Silver Corvette at the beginning) Wish he was in it more.
I love this franchise. I grew up on Transformers since the first one came out. Michael Bay is the GOAT💯🔥🔥
No
Fun fact, in the Transformers Animated series from 2007-2009. Most of the Decepticons were bigger than the Autobots.
Loved the video seb can’t wait to see dark of the moon 😆
Really recommend the 1986 Transformers Movie just so you can get a taste of the Orginal vibe I feel like you can watch that movie without much context of the show
no ones about to watch something from 1986
@@soundofmisery-8623 no star wars or most other great movies of are time for you I guess
You've got the touch
I was obsessed with this movie as a kid and still am
This was filmed during a writers strike so that explains a lot. The third one is my favorite
I love how they're in the dc smithsonian hangar one second then just bust the door down into a clearly californian airfield with mountains out back
This is the best transformers movie even if there's a lot of flaws of it the nostalgia on me is strong
The fallens head If you didn't catch it , is the Deceptacon symbol pretty much...I still have every figure that came out with this movie and the first one.. Crazy how time flies .. My favorite figure it's probably a leader class Jetfire SR 71 blackbird massive figure ,You can combine it with the Optimus prime I have
After like the halfway point in This video, it gets way too nitpicky with the complaints feels like
Dude for sure it got annoying.
I think you'll definitely enjoy the bumblebee movie
The story felt so sluggish, but as a kid, it really didn't matter. That's why Transformers is a big part of my childhood. Not as good as it is now compared to when I was a child, but it's still a good franchise to watch for pure action
Seb #1 reactor on UA-cam
Micheal Bay: “More @$$”
“But sir, we’re zoomed almost all the way-“
Micheal Bay: “I SAID MORE @$$!!!”
Trust me when I say this they are overhated.(Sorry for the long ass comment just wanted to tell you my opinion)
Thank you for reading! :)
this guys rreactions make no sense, at one point he complains about too much is happening and then not alot is happening, then complains necessary story beats as filler. the only thing you can call filler is the twin fighting of devestator. thats probably it.
@@lampad4549 He was hating just to hate
Does anyone else hear Izma’s voice in their head at least twice every Seb video? “Wrong lever!” 😂
There are transformers games and I heard Fall of Cybertron is aparently really good
The panther looking one is ravage, companion of the decepticon that was in space a.k.a soundwave (since 1985)
Day "ayoo" of asking seb to watch Austin Powers one day!
35:30 British Jerry Seinfeld 😂
They are:
Tranformers 2007 game
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Transformers: Dark of the moon
Transformers: War for Cybertron
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
Transformers: Rise of the dark spark
(these are the most famous ones...and basically the best)
I thought you were a Transformers fan and yet you don't know Ravage and Soundwave, Sideswipe and Arcee?? Come on....you didn't even know of the Constructicons or Devastator?? Or the cartoons....Ultra Magnus, Cup, Blur, Astrotrain, Metroplex, Galvatron? You're not a fan.

whys he complaining theres too much filler and needs more action then crys when theres action
Exactlyyyyy. At one point he was like "give me a moment to breathe!" and when there's slow moments "Cut this filler!" bro whatt
@@satwikk9896 y’all are taking it out of context, what he means is to give badass fight scenes that are easy to follow and fun to watch but instead the action scenes are milked to a point where it gets exhausting and they’re overblown with explosions and pointless shots of the military, Sam screaming, the annoying parents running and screaming, Devastator having balls and so on.
As for the chill scenes, they are just filled with boring exposition and cringe jokes that could’ve been cut out of the movie.
@@satwikk9896 In the first half, it felt like there was too much, in the second half, way too little. It's as simple as that.
The only action he didn't like was all the explosions that felt like nothing at all because there's just so much of it. What he meant by action, was robots fighting eachother.
