So glad you guys reacted to this! My other favourites from them are 'Savior' and 'The Light'. 'Earthworm' and 'Self-Hatred' are also honorable mentions, showing us a different side of what they can do. I enjoy this band, especially the vocalist, cause they can do everything so well. I've never seen a deathcore vocalist have such great cleans haha

It took me a while to come around to Kagami's cleans because of how elegant they sound. But over time I've come to appreciate the uniqueness and versatility of his voice and Dexcore is now in my top 5 Japanese bands I throw my money at.

Great reaction, Dexcore is amazing band!
I think it's not like that it's japanese thing that male singers have high, like you said feminine, voices. As first yellow race is different than, white race (black also but in Europe or America most of metal singers are white, maybe not, sorry is I'm wrong, I don' t want to offend anyone) when it comes to physical aspects, for example I've heard maybe a few japanese singers with raspy voice. But I've heard japanese singers with very dark timbre of their voice.
Visual Kei is japanese movement as music, fashion and subculture. Was created in early 80s by band X Japan (in that time just X) because of how japanese society was thinking about individuals, there was thinking that everyone should be similar, that being different is not good, so they createed look with colourful hair, make up etc. And because japanese people are known of don't saying what they thinking, not express themselves etc, in Visual Kei music always lyrics were very important to use it as way to talk about difficult topics. In music you can find almost all genres, there are such heavy bands like Dexcore but also are pop artists, and what is amazing, one band cen use so many different genres and styles in music, even in one song, they just love experiments with music and I love it! And after almost 16 years listen to Visual Kei bands I can say that clean vocal is very important there, not just clean vocal... beautiful clean vocal, and they singing in kinda theatrical way, it's also part of Visual Kei. But nowadays also really harsh vocals are important for metal bands.
I want to recommend two Visual Kei bands, first is The Gazette and their song "Blinding Hope", some metalcore elements mixed with other genres, and second is 摩天楼オペラ (Matenrou Opera) and song "真っ白な闇がすべてを塗り替えても" (Masshiro na Yami ga Subete wo Nurikaete mo), symphonic/speed/power metal, without harsh vocals. I hope you will react to both these bands. :)

Visual Kei pretty much just means Japanese bands that dress elaborately, especially in androgynous fashion. Think hair metal combined with "scene" fashion style and that's a decent approximation. You'll see terms like circus-kei, aristocrat-kei, and so on which should be self-explanatory as to what they entail. I think music combined with visuals is cool and something a lot of bands would benefit from although I'm not personally into the really effeminate stuff. It's better when they're at least somewhat intimidating.
    Please check out
Dir en grey - Vinushka (live from Androgynos)
This one song utilizes a wider range of vocal skills and range than any other song (featuring only one singer at least). I feel confident saying that. But even this song doesn't show everything the singer (Kyo) can do. He has a very unique high scream where he toggles the pitch like crazy that he invented and a lot of bands have tried to emulate(including Deviloof who try to do a lot of things Kyo has done), but this song doesn't use that particular scream (I think most fans agree that this is still the place to start). This band has also been around for 26 or so years and is massively influential in Japan. They have a more mature and less whiny sound than a lot of their contemporaries (even though Kyo can sing much higher than this guy it's just not done in the same way, perhaps because Kyo's regular voice is very low). But they have no genre at all and seem to just try to create a new unique experience with every song.

LOL definitely not a ‘cute’ band. Visual Kei is characterised by elaborate hair styles, heavy makeup and theatrical costumes. A musical genre relating to punk, Metal and traditionally Glam Rock. Witnessed many bands in my life in Japan. These guys are very good.

Im gonna just be a homie and let you know.
Youre crippling yourselves by not getting to the reaction until 5 or 6 minutes into the video, no one clicks on a reaction video and wants to sit through all that shit first, save it for after the song. I literally almost clicked off because i was bored, its not meant to be an insult, but constructive criticism.

@offseteraofficialband it was constructive criticism man, you don't need to be offended. I would like to see you do well, so take the advice or leave it, but maybe chill with the pettiness lol

Interesting thought but counter-tenor does not equal emo, the lack of musical knowledge leads to some dumb and insulting assumptions as always.
