update 15/08/2024 - the original song is by HET - a band from Aarau (or Basel?) - and it is called "Strange Complex" and was released in 1988 on an untitled, self-released cassette.
band members: Eva Frosch, Kornel Vogt, Franz Frosch and Philippe Vaucher, recorded (by Hartmann ?) at Schweinesound Studio/Sedel Luzern

thanks! yes, I'm happy a few braincells seem to have survived over the years. I don't know when or how the tape got lost, I don't think I've overdubbed it on purpose..

thank you! the funniest thing about my version is: my snippet runs slightly slower than the original recording and it took some effort to get the tempo of my version as close as possible to the snippet - just to find out "this was unnecessary..“

haha, I didn't expect those lyrics but I'm very fond of the vocals of the original version (and not that much of the ones in mine). I like my take on the song a lot because it wasn't that easy.
it took weeks to think about what to sing, because I wanted to avoid the s*x/complex-rhyme by any means. in the end I decided to write about something I didn't want to spend too much time on thinking about it, so I chose to use only 2x20minutes (20 minutes is what the train took to go to work at that time, so it was 20 minutes of writing and on the way back 20 minutes of editing the lyrics) to get it done.
then the source I used for the drums was not able to play that tempo, so this took some time to fix it. but it was nice once I worked it out, same for the other issues I had to deal with soft/hardware-wise.
I've met some nice people during the research, got in touch with an old mate again, was invited to his fantastic DJ-set, travelled a bit and (re-)visited some special place when going to that listening station. everybody was very nice & helpful there (an afterwards looking for that original recordings) but especially I'm superhappy getting in touch with the original members of HET and getting to know what they're doing at the moment.
