this is accurate but he is so insanely boring to watched because he littlerally has no emotion. hes just so monotone. I can only watch a couple of his videos a month
Yeah but he says stuff too early. He called the heat done after 2021 when they were one missed shot away from the finals this year. And his Celtics thing after 2021 aged horribly. He’s already On the downfall Of harden who’s like 32 and still putting up amazing stats. And his Houston rockets thing was incorrect. The warriors were just the better team the rockets didn’t fail
@@ACLA23 the heat and celtics vids may have been made too soon but in his defense those teams were looking rough when he posted the vids. hardens career has been on a bit of a downward spiral recently tho, I expect him to have a bounce back season this year. but if he was still the same harden we got used to seeing in houston or the beginning of brooklyn, he’d have nothing to bounce back from. and idk if I’d call hardens time in houston a failure but I wouldn’t call it a complete success either, he had a chance to beat the warriors in game 7 and he choked w no CP3 to back him up.

Especially for people who only started watching the NBA in the last few years, these videos gave me a much wider knowledge and context of the league today and the careers of past greats.
i dont think we gave up too much for melo like most knicks fans think. the real issue was stoudemire hogging all the cap space and playing 10 games a year. melo was in the trenches every playoffs cuz his only co-star let him down
Ngl, i used to cook with the triangle on 2k. I wonder why Phil didn’t introduce it with Derek fisher…the guy who ran the system with him for all those years and 3 championships
Players wouldn’t buy in. They see the triangle as outdated but Kerr uses a ton of triangle concepts in his system and we’ve seen how well that’s worked
Carmelo’s Knicks failed because he became too selfish of a player. He never completely adjusted to passing or ball movement. Carmelo caused Jeremy Lin to be cut because he was taking away his scoring opportunities. He also caused Mike D’Antoni to be fired because he did not like his style of offense.
Jeremy Lin got cut because he's not that good lmao. Carmelo was definitely too selfish, but the idea that he derailed Lin's career is insane and far too popular. Linsanity was fun to watch, but it only happened because nobody knew who he was so teams didn't know how to guard him. The second teams figured him out, he crumbled.
@@turtle7459 I would say that it at least plays a role in his downfall. The knicks had a culture around them that respected him. He had good chemistry with his teammates and he fit with the play style. He was recognized. Any other team he played for he was solid, a couple of great games scattered around, but never the same since he was not considered a legit star.
I won’t lie Stephan A does make every Knick fan seem bad but like honestly I can feel him. With all the opportunity and potential due to the cities market nothing ever happens. So many years of disappointment and bad decisions so I can feel him on some level.
Melo should have left to Chicago at least he would have had Jimmy and Rose there and potentially pau who I think still wanted to be a Bull rather Melo was there or not. All because of LaLa who he not even with anymore
Carmelo is a great first option but would become average or below as a second option. That's the only thing about Melo's game is that he isn't efficient, more of a volume and iso scorer. His offball movement isn't really good either. But he is consistent, which allows his team to win.
I disagree, I just think he played in a slightly weaker era to the one we wake up to now which made him have to be a #1 option . A lot of dudes (not him) who were #1s pretty consistently would be #3s or #4s now, or were on winning teams
@@CliqueClips I can see what your saying. But saying that number one options then will be third or fourth string now I can see is true but I don't think it's because they are not as good as players now but rather the idea of what makes a team win has changed. If you bring in the system of the 2000s, I still think it'll work. Cases like Isaiah Thomas and the Celtics and even though slightly different since they shoot a lot threes, James Harden and the rockets. The flaw in that system is that there can only be one lone star that is very good at offense and everyone else has be good at defense. If either don't do their job, they will likely lose or have a narrow win. That's why the system today is much more safer for teams.
Any player whose game is heavily ISO based will have a very hard time having success as a number 1 option in the modern nba. Especially when you don’t play defense.
Because he was a marginal basketball player at best. There’s always been two types of stars in the NBA: stat stuffers and winners. They’re not remotely the same thing. Many people can’t tell the difference but the difference is HUGE. Carmelo was an empty stat player. Period. High usage, poor efficiency, horrible defender, that didn’t elevate the play of his lessor teammates. He’s hardly worth talking about at all honestly.
A fun lineup without the triangle if we didnt trade Melo that year and we had flipped the contract between Noah and Rose, could have been Rose at the 1, Frank at the 2 for defense Melo at the 3 KP at the four And I guess Hernangomez at the five. I think it would have at least been entertaining in some way

Consistently facing Miami in the ECF? I'll say it isn't unreasonable to expect them to reach at least one ECF. But anything more than that to me is just silly.
