this kinda explains why several years ago, i failed to bake a rambot deck gun. abandoning the attempt assuming skill-issue, when really, the gun needed to be bigger than the boat i was putting it on.
Nice, you got quite close to the real values from experimentation alone, those being 400 kinetic, 10 AP, 4 inaccuracy and 150 m/s speed (never trust the wiki, these are straight from the code). And yeah, the old map was WAY more mountainous lol. It's a bit sad, really, how little land there is nowadays...
@@ThunderPanzer As I said it was a little embarassing that I ever trusted "40 kinetic damage, 1 AP" Aside, is that a constant set in decompiled code or is it found in a value table somewhere? Id love to snoop around.
The lack of mountains is likely a result of ground vehicles being a thing now. I remember trying to make hovercraft with rubber on the bottom - doing that with the old terrain was basically impossible. Also makes it a bit easier for flying craft since they don't suddenly smash into extreme terrain elevation changes.
Back in the day, even when you could buff the minigun with skills, it never felt this powerful. Maybe my computer just couldn't deal with the cloud of projectiles
@@joejoemyo oh, the Stormtrooper perk which increased range and accuracy made it a genuine ship-to-ship gun, but its low AP meant it wasnt viable against much past the DWG. It could still deal with light planes if you were good enough to lead the spray.

It not on Fandom, so it’s pretty much better by default. Sure as hell runs a lot better. It’s very much a work in progress, though; I think they only have 67 pages, and only about half of them have more than a paragraph of text.
It was so OP, my early game strategy was to just board enemy vessels, hunt down the AI, and take over every ship possible. I still have the blueprint for my “riverhome v153” or whatever, with shields, laser defenses, etc. it was surprisingly tanky simply because I packed so much stuff into it.
Do you think you could make an old custom cannon build I remember really like them and wanted to build a big one but they got removed before I got the game sadly
Yeah, but Rambot hip-fires the minigun with one hand and doesn't experience any recoil, so unless Rambot is really that strong I assumed that it had no recoil.

0:20 . This is some of the only video of the NPCs thats available on youtube as far as im aware. Do you have anymore?
I remeber budkai had some in his very old videos.
lathland has some in his old campaign
if you would've watched the video you would've seen the epilogue.
You can load up an older build that I think they are still in.
Rambot truly has main character energy if that's what they're packing.
